  1. Do you understeer while neutral, under braking, or while on the throttle?
  2. Depends on balls. I've had this theory and have seen it put to practice, but not at ground level: You glide downwards as usual, but point up at the end of your slope. You stall out vertically and latterally, your speed in all directions becoming temporarily zero. If you can time your stall out very low over a body of water, in theory you'll simply drop a few feet into the water unharmed. Guys are flirting with it now, calling it "low pull" chute opening. Just a matter of time before one of these guys has a nasty break-up with their girlfreind and decides to try it.
  3. ding! He's a bit more textured, but the shape and puff location is spot on. U R teh bug man What is the plumes function, respiration?
  4. -Pic was taken 2 weeks ago (so summer) -I find these on occasion on flat, lightly colored surfaces. Not sure if it prefers them, or I just can't see them on natural substrate. -Location is West Chest Ohio, 45069. Hilly, partially wooded, ground tends to hold water though not quite a swamp. -Never spotted with a partner -Cannot tell if it has wings or not, the rear shell is domed and fairly uniform. Could have beetle-like wings in there, but cant tell. There's not allot of detail missing from the photo, it's a very conservatively designed bug.
  5. What tires? Is the rear of the car equally stiff?
  6. I'm also willing to bet that I can cover ground faster than they.... but then again, they control the exits. The chances of escape once you've been identified are slim. Even if you climb out, there's a solid chance that you'll be spotted. So, best just to kill the ranger that catches you in the first place.
  7. 90% sure it's the driver gasket. Not meant to be offensive, but I was once in the same boat; I assumed that my car was just biased toward understeer... then I got some instruction. How you drive is important, sign up for HPDE 1 and see if you still think the same about the car when you're done.
  8. He didn't look at the pic. H grabbed it and assumed that it was a pic that he had used before.
  9. I melted no less than 4 components of my car at my last HPDE, it happens.
  10. I've got some Ohio ice stuff here: http://www.summitpost.org/object_list.php?parent_id=269524&object_type=3 If it gets cold enough, Ohio is awesome. It makes a much better winter/cold state than a sumer/hot state.
  11. I was expecting you to be first. Here's more of a challenge for ya, since I wasn't able to get a good shot: http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/8214/puffvg5.jpg less than a cm big, big puffy white plume on his ass, and he can jump so fast/far that my eyes cant follow.
  12. Holy crap, they need some rain. I've never seen the falls stopped up. There's a pic on the internets some where showing Ash cave after a downpour; epic gushing, I'd like to go there during some storms. edit: here http://www.familyheritage.info/Ash%20Cave%20after%20a%20storm.jpg This is also cool, yes there are scrape marks onm it from car/van roofs. http://www.familyheritage.info/Leaning%20Rock%20along%20Clear%20Creek%20Road.jpg
  13. Mad TV continues to disappoint. A sketch petitioning that porn stars need to register like sex offenders (so we know where to find them) would have been funnier.
  14. Just spent a week up on lake Huron, did some surfboating on the small craft advisory days. Nothing terribly impressive, but the 3 footers were good enough to carry my 16' canoe. Riding waves is fun, I recommend it.
  15. Because he just wasn't having that. I considered it important enough to put him down: my kid plays where these live, I want to know what it is. 100% sure it's not a dragonfly. It's certainly no baby, it has more mass than any adult dragonfly I've seen in the region. He's 35mm nose to tail. Robber fly looks right: looking up now.
  16. http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1669/bugrf3.jpg Just found this guy outside munching on a bee, caught him with my kids butterfly net. As big as a hornet and just as scary. I put him in a jar out in the sun for a few hours, no way I'm handling one of these alive. What is it? Predatory, long legs with hooks, horsefly head, fuckin scary.
  17. http://www.entertrainmentjunction.com/ This place just opened up the road from me (northern Cincinnati). 'Bout $10/head to get in, worth every penny if you and your kids dig locomotives. The model train exhibit goes on forever, my 3 year old was going apeshit for 2 straight hours.
  18. Megadeth, Symphony of Destruction. Though, the first tape boght for me actually was the Beachboys, Little Deuce coupe.
  19. dead sexy Nob Erto. October, NASA at Putnam Park, you should be there.
  20. Frog eyes with those wheels = Big Tony. He's had those lights for at least 4 years.
