  1. Know anyone who can peel them off the rims that they're on? It'd make things simpler. Edit, hey Hoblick, you were there when I lost #4, remember? It went flat, and I limped to you and fowlers joint to swap it for the spare.
  2. I feel so cool knowing where that quote is from. :funny:
  3. I have 3 of these: http://www.goodyear.ca/catalog/products/EAGMSEMT.html They are older versions, though, not runflat. That link is more to show you the tread. They are barely used, but I only have 3. Size is 245/40/17 have maybe 4000 miles on them, 3000 of which was a winter drive to Colorado. $50 Also: Conti SportContacts. The fronts are good, the backs are thin but usable. Great autocross "rule bender" condition tires. pair 225/45ZR17 front pair 245/35ZR17 rear $50 I snagged these for a Benz that I no longer have. These are located in northern Cincinnati
  4. Full face helmet is simple black, shows few blemishes. Comes with orginal box and bag, as well as a couple extra visors. No funk, never wore it for more than a few minutes. $75+ shipping, or pick-up in the Cincinatti area, or pick-up in columbus when I happen to be there. I'll work on some pics, but I have no camera. I pull the size off of it tonight, as well as the model if I can find it.
  5. The answer, unfortunately, is to get into a buisness where you're not hiring from the bottom crust. Trying to fill a $10/hr job? Guess who's going to be applying: Losers and kids. Why do they lie on their applications? Umm...because they're criminal drug addicts. I will say that not everyone with a record is a bad guy, some learn. While at WC, I trained 3 ex-cons on various machines, 2 of which ended up being damn fine workers...the other one left to pursue a legitimate buisness opportunity: Knocking up a rich girl and using a loan from her dad to start a day-care. True story.

  7. It's a joke just like last year. Here is a phone call that I bet money took place: "Yeah, that biker guy was a hit with the 25-55 'American chopper' demo, we want him back, pay his fee...yeah...yeah...yeah...well we'll get one or two guys that have a chance, fill the rest of the spots with punters that we can film as they break down". I hate it, but I'm watching, because I hate it. Let the nude people be nude, they'll lose their bits and pieces to the cold. I went topless on Mt Washington in the winter. 60mph wind, ambient temp of 0f. As the shutter clicked, I asked myself "What if my coat and clothes blow away?" I didn't like the answer.
  8. I absolutely agree with you, because there was a difference in lingo. A press brake is something that I call a press, because it used pressure and a die. As apposed to a sheet metal break, that grabs and bends around an edge. The part in the picture was clearly made on a press (brake). Soft steels, stainless, and aluminum alloys. What about hardened and carburized stock? Given the heat involved in hard braking (though less in the rear), I wouldn't want to use a soft alloy. Going up and down with temperature, I'd be worried about a compromise in the steels integrity. Combine that with what happens to steel at the brake (work hardening and increased porosity on the outer edge), and we end up with something that I wouldn't trust to hold a caliper under braking. It would closely resemble brittle Chinese crap.
  9. Specify: -What kind of steel -How tight the break is -What you use
  10. Ok, brake parts I wouldn't scre around with. Be sure you tell the shop what these are for, they're going to be getting hot and abused, that effects what steel they use.
  11. I inseminate them on occasion, so one could say I do.
  12. Yep, but I'm waiting to hear the aplication before suggesting anything. That won't fly in some circumstances.
  13. Only if it's patented or copywrited. You can make whatever you want and sell it, as long as it's not specifically protected. As for the part: You don't need no stinking computer. Those were probably made in China for 40 cents each. The $150 covers the cost of setting up the shop and making dies for the press. Unfortunately, you probably wont save money and get a product of equal quality: Option 1: CnC from billet. This will be more than $150 Option 2: cut and drill a blank, and bend it l(ike the part you have was made). You're not going to put that thickass steel (is is 1/4"?) in a break without tearing it. You need a press, and this will cost a grand to set up here in the states. What does the bracket do, and how strong does it have to be? You may engineer a way around some things. Tell us everything you know about the part.
  14. Next up, understanding the lingo: The 99+ Cobra brakes that I have use a "banjo" fitting on the caliper end, this much I understand. What about the other end? Will it me a universal type threaded fitting? I don't have the car at the moment, it's tough to tell. next question: The line leaves the caliper and runs up into some shiney new harware in this pic. What is that? http://www.gmmodernmuscle.com/fileupload/uploads/ss_line_installed.jpg This is what I'm looking at now. I'm also wondering, if I cut and flare the bit of hard line, can I replace the rubber hose while retaining the origional fittings?
  15. This kit is $160: http://forums.tccoa.com/showthread.php?t=87529 Hell with that. Has anyone here made SS flex lines? Is it as simple as it seems?
  16. Under you're feet, in your car, and coursing through your veins. True story.
  17. I like this one: http://www.giftedtwisted.com/rpimages/tiles/revolution-faded-model.jpg Minus the shirt....nothing against it, it's just in the way.
  18. RC9YCC? Sweet, thanks Dave...what exactly is the temp on these, this is honestly my first foray into this stuff.
  19. Are we counting track cars? Cuz I have one that doesn't weigh 3700lb no more, nor does it have 205 smogged hp.
  20. Wanna mate? My car weighs 4200lb and has 322hp A 99 Ford Lightning weighs 4600lb, and only has 40 hp more. My car handles better and has a lower drag coefficient...The bulletproof 4L80E zaps 20% of my power, though.
  21. Talked to Driveline 1 today...hilarious, but aside from that, they should be able to bang it out Saturday.
  22. This is what I've got, how can I get my horses powerz through these? http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/9839/manifoldstw3.jpg
