MAg will be expensive as well, but at least you;ll be getting mroe value for you r money. While you wait, you can wonder the multi-million dollar showroom and sip on free coffee that is actually GOOD.

Mercedes used to be #1 in quality and #1 in customer service. That's not an ad, it's a statistical fact. They held that title for 15 years or so, right up until the 90s, where it turned a COMPLETE 180, now they're almost dead last. They slacked on build quality to save money, but you can't build complicated widgets cheaply, they break. They've also been capitalizing on the service market. Build shitty cars, and charge out the ass to fix them...I'd like to see their gross profits from 94 to 04 and see how they've done. Sell your car and get a 300E from 92/93. If you want to be more of a pimp, get a 500E, NOT an E500. Each 500E was hand-built by Porsche and spew 320ish hp. If you go for a nice 560SEL, you'll have torque to tow your Mustang, and room to stretch your legs and sleep. You can get the same 5.6 V8 in a 2 door CL.

You've been had. I hate to bring the "tough love", but you shouldn't have signed your $4g away without reading and understanding every last word. You got screwed because you asked to be screwed, it's happened to everyoneWhat Scott said, no PM stuff is warranted work, no interior breakage is either. The only honest thing a dealer ever told me is "Extended warrantys are BS wastes of money". so was the car he sold me, but at least he didn't sell me an extended warranty. I love Benz's, I'll own more, but I've told everyone I know and I've said it a thousand times here: DO NOT BUY AFTER 93!!!

Is Columbus Joint and Clutch still the people choice? Any idea when they're open on Saturdays?

I can't stand the dishonesty of cheating, you're fucking married, thell them you're not satisfied and try to work it out. That being said, if you're woman ain't satisfied, perhaps the reason is in the mirror. (harsh reality) why does the site exist? Because there's no escaping your biology.

So is free soloing a technical fourteener int he middle of winter, telling me that just makes me want to do it more. That stint, I was out to do three things: -Preserve the car mechanically, I did so by never touching redline, or even "orangeline", and taking it easy with the clutch and gears. -Preserve the car physically. We had back up tires then, so I ran those ragged, but the rest of the time, I didn't try a pass unless I was 83% sure that I could do it without contact. What I didn't bank on was the C&D Web team sending their cop car out for the sole purpose of taking me out. I made it easy for him by running at the edge of the tires grip (and beyond), spinning me was easy.

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i15/viergang/lemi2.jpg Unfortunately, I wasn't there at the start. From what I understand, we started in the pits. We almost didn't pass tech (see footnote), and the rear brakes seized. They were fixing the rear brakes as driver1 was being strapped in. It was a roller coaster: Friday we didn't know if we'd finish the race, Sat morning we didn't know if we'd get to start it, and sunday morning we took the lead. CnD: The fella that gave us flack in tech over dumbshit was later seen hanging out in the CnD pit, and even fueling the CnD car during a stop. The nature of the event is the be cheap, $500 cars. CnD clearly spent more money than that. On top of that, they had $2000 worth of wheels and tires on the car, and multiple sets of spares. They did have one car that was cheap, though, but it is the apex of assholity: They had 3 cars, an RXY, a Fiero, and an 80s Dodge Diplomat cop car. The RX7 was their "contender", the Fiero was a backup fast car, and the big ugly Diplomat was there as a sweeper. What's a sweeper? A sweeper is a big sturdy turd that has no hope of winning. You enter it for the sole task of hitting challengers to your fast car. In my last shift, we were still in second place, 1st was the CnD Rx7. I caught the RX7 many times, and then I was mysteriously spun. Later, as I was passing this Diplomat, he pushed me off into an 8' wide tractor tire, luckily the car was relatively undamaged. Later yet, as I passed him and another car, he hit my inside read and spun me outright, and then pushed me. Other drivers had run ins with him as well, I think I'm the only one to be spun because I was aggressive enough (dumb enough) to tango. Early morning, they pulled this car out and let it sit. Some thought it was done, i thought they were saving it. Sure enough, with 20mins to go, this car comes alive and hits the track. It runs around slowly until our guy, Brian, caught up and began blocking him again. In context: We were 40 laps ahead, we could have parked the car and still won, there wasn't even a chance that being a dick would get them anything, they just did it for fun. What the hell kind of ass does that? What's beutiful; Brian is a cool cat that you want in your car. I would have gott agressive. He eased back and let two more cars pass him: BOTH old cop car entries that went up and began tangoing with the dicks in the Diplomat. A couple laps later, the diplomat was dead in the infeild. It was hilarious.

Funny thing, we never got around to changing either. We gave the oil filter to an ailing Volvo 240, it fit!

Correct make, and we were Starlets....but the car was not.

Youa re correct. Rich was one of the drivers, and lent us the use of the badass Rally Van. Everyone had some sort of driving experience accept for one; Sid raced bikes. He showed up and dove in like it was nothin, the man was quick. The sexy sum'bich on the far left had only done lapping days prior to this, and hte last one of those was 2+ years ago. We had 5 regual Auto Crossers (whole also do lapping days), one of which drove from Topeka Saturday night to join us. Only 3 of the drivers have ever raced wheel to wheel before. It was the best looking car at the beginning AND the end. I honestly expected more flaking with impact, but it was still bright white at the finish, outstanding work. I was going to post what the car was, but as more picks come out I think I'll keep you all guessing. Hint, it were Japanese. Keep your eyes on Car And Driver. They feilded a 3-car team, spent tons of money, tried losts of dirty shit, and still came second to us; a car that was actually under budget. Must suck to be that pathetic, I wander what they'll say about us in their rag....er Magazine. http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/6913/todtup5.jpg

http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/ I want to see CR field a team next year. This board is packed with resources for just this kind of race. You'll have stiff and handsome competition from this years winnarz! http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i15/viergang/nickels.jpg There are no words to describe how fun this shit is!

As a driver, that would probably piss me off.

Sorry, I meant to type out "Steward of Pain".

Lol, Jr sucks at that. Talk about a kid who's name got him everything. Stewart and Gordon are prime examples of talent in the toilet. They're good, there's no doubt. What you find funny is something that is common. It's just funny to you cuz you're ignorant of it. You're going to be your best at one thing, and do "ok" in other forms of it. A good marksman with a pistol has no garantee of hitting shit with a rifle. Funny from an article about an ameteur 24hr race, in which the drivers must have a competiton liscense to compete. The most economical liscense?

I did, I even looked into joining one. I put in bold the most important part of your post. Unions have change entirely since their inception. I won't dwell on organized crime, it doesn't apply everywhere. I also wont comment on skilled trade unions, personally I like the idea of elevators being installed by elevator people, etc. But the UAW has outlived its usefullness, and is more a harm tot he collective common worker than anything else. Their actions now are going to be some of their last. Some day soon, they'll have to get their own jobs without inflated pay scales, so they may as well milk GM to death in the mean time, right?
