On scale of 1-10... http://media.urbandictionary.com/image/large/spinaltap-36821.jpg It pulls like no NA 4cyl I've everdriven. When you push on the gas, things begin to happen, and continue happening allthe way to 7000 rpm. With the modifications done, handling is very rail like. The turn in isn't as theatric as my other two cars, and it stops fast enough to detatch retinas. On top of all that, roll the windows up on the highway and you'll forget you have an engine. It's quiet, very quiet. The interior isn't flawless, but none of the flaws efect comfort. It's the nices 238,000 mile leather Ive seen. The gadgetry is simple and German. It's got cool stuff that I didn't expect to find on an 86, but none of it is too much; -Lock the drivers door, all the doors lock. It's a vaccume system though, so I'm not looking forward having to fix it. -Power seats...with power head rests, sweet. The front seats lean back to almost 180 deg. -Cruise control is a lever, similar in size to steering wheel tilt. Flip it one way or the other and the cruise sets. Flip it up, gop faster, flip it down, go slower. -Clock, its analog and in the center of the tach. The lap timer is didgital. -Climate control, you select your temp on a dial...in celsius. The controls were unfamiliar, yet simple and sensical, so it didn't take long to learn. -Digital air temperature readout at the base of the steering column in the gauge cluster. -Gas cap, I had to ask the previous owner how to get the fuel door open, becauseI sure as hell couldn't figure it out. It, of course, was simple. Just puh in on the fuel door and it will pop open. duh

It pulls like no other NA 4cyl I've ever been in. -
50/50 Looks good at 50ft, at 50mph. It's the little stuff thats everywhere that makes it a repaint. As rare as the car is, I only want the best for it.

Actualy, after some intimate waxing time...and the fact that I found an Orange something something that gets it right off...I've decided not to detail it. The pain is in such a state that buffing wont do, and Mako'ing over it would be a travesty. I'm inthe market for a strp down, rust spot killing noew paint job. What's the cheapest that can be done, so I have a figure to save for? With stickers; http://squidcar.com/190.jpg without, though it doesnt show the damage. Some have pulled the clear coat right off. Luckily I dont care, I have arare, fun, fuel efficient 4 door for cheap, and I save on my car insurance.

I've got a car that was once covered in stickers, and there's residue all over. I dont exactly have the patience to clean it all and remover the last stickers. It was a One Lap car, so they were pretty randomly placed everywhere. Anyone?

wonder why Europeans think our cars suck?
Science Abuse replied to Science Abuse's topic in Passing Lane
Actualy, the point realy is that no one is buying our cars over there. We overcharge the shit out of most of our cars over there, and cite the price of import. But European companies have been sending reasonably priced cars over here for a century. Belgium built Volvos are cheaper then American built Caddillacs, and you get a better performing car (with the excetion of the CTS-V). If American makes want good reveiws overseas, they have to drop their prices. I still cant beleive that old pickups price. -

Deisels and liter cars are actualy fast over there, though. We get fucked by US small car spec. Find a US liter car that does 0-60 in less then 10 seconds, you cant. In Europe you can. Also, Deisels are winning races over there. No one over here bothers to develop them in passenger vehicles, just 11 second bullydog pickups. -

ummm no. Point of the post was this; People bitching an fmoaning about shows like Top Gear and other foreight magazines givign american cars bad reviews. The point of the post is, the cars absolutely deserve their bad reviews. As stated before, A decent $20,000 car is one shitty ass $46,000 car. -
I dont exactly trust their ratings. "Almost 1000"? Just tell us. CA @ 72F? How about actual cold cranking amps?

So I'm poking around GErmanies Ebay, looking for all the neato german shit that they have there and dont have here...then it struck me, lets see what they have of ours.... Converted from Euros; $19,100 $18,000 $31,000 $46,900 $17,000 $11,455 $54,196 $42,168 Ask yourself, whould you pay that for any of those f'n cars? A decent $20,000 car is one shitty $46,000 car. No, lets see what you can get insted; For the price of the Dodge Ram; 993 Instead of a v6 mustang, how about a nice Supercharged M3 I know what I'd choose.

boo testing on animals has never gotten us anything worthwile boooooooooooooo. I'd be interested in seeing the side effects, especialy on more complicated stuff, like us. Healing quickly is one thing, but regeneration of mamilian limbs is outright outstanding, unbeleivable even.

Replace DTM with "that thur Nascawr", and you have the superbird excuse, also. Either way, It looks as though I'm aproved for fundage and this car will be joining Scuderia Grothaus. And I did find the Top Gear drive of the car and enjoyed watching it..despite it being a different car. The one they tested was one I could not find any record of being sold in the states, the 2.5 litre as apposed to my 2.3 litre DOHC Cosworth. I dont mind much, 197bhp can be had by other, very simple means. Hell, why stop there? -

True, but they are like Germanies Superbird. Sure it was fast, but for god sake, look at the wing! http://www.classicdriver.fr/upload/images/_uk/12334/img02.jpg -
it did if you invested about $50 and hacked off the pipes.

Science Abuse replied to Science Abuse's topic in Passing Lane
No, you found three 2.3 16v Cosworths, the rest are just base 2.3 SOHC 8v cars. Since 3 is less then ten; No gold star for you. -
Oh, I fell out of some steel racking once, the math brings it to about 31mph.
