i dont wrongly think my car is better, rightly think my car is more reliable. I'm not knocking his choice, I'm knocking the reliability of the Disposable Speed Machine, aka, the DSM

I've always felt the best actual racing has been in sports cars. I beleive its because the drivers are "hungrier". Kind of like watching welter weight boxing.

Its a great chassis too man. Just not for dragging. I and another are building MN12s for this: www.americanironeast.com Its an IRS car that accepts a T5 easily, its wide, long, balanced, and rips up a road course. What you're selling is a great basis for a race car project.

Anybody remember the '03 Cobra motor on ebay back in June '02?
Science Abuse replied to Boost-n-Juice's topic in Passing Lane
Yeah, but the 03 cobra motors are actualy desirable power plants tongue.gif My guess, it "fell off a truck" some where. -
Anyone else catch the race? A year of records being set and broken, machines and drivers being pushed to and beond their limits, and an ever increasing presence of oddly fueled vehicles. Some highlights: I think the most memorable moment this year for those who watched would have to be Alan McNish displaying what makes a true race car driver, dedication. Driving a car with virtualy no fairing left on it, a broken steering rack, no brakes, and a different toe and camber on every wheel. A car basicaly as messed up as yo can get and still kinda roll, and driving it back to the pits with a CONCUSION. He gets it back, jumps out of the car and remorts the problems (for the most part) to the head engineer...then passes out and get taken to the nearest hospital. How about the introduction of the first Deisel LMP900 car? Taurus Sports entered a Lola sporting a Catarpillar twin turbo V10 Deisel....and they finished...very well! 3rd in class I think, race results are hard to find this early. There was also an LMP running ethanol, dont know much about that one, though. Underdog Story: The Morgan Works Aero 8. Well, they pretty much stayed an underdog, BUT they finished, and that is a feat in itself. Especialy considering that that car still has wooden parts! Thats got to be the first such car to race at le mans in decades. The Top Dogs: Team Goh. Line up the record breakers, we got a few here. -The first jappanese owned team to win in a long time. -The first winning jappanese driver to win in a long time, 2nd in history I think. -Tom Kristensen tying the great Jacky Ickx wit 6 wins at Le Mans, 5 consecutively. -The most miles traveled evar at the 24 Huers Du Mans. Over all a very good and eventfull race from flag to flag. anyone else have input? I'm sick of typing.

I'm ony arrogant and elitist because I'm better then everyone else, it aint my fault tongue.gif

Kinda. But "We" doesn't include you, man. tongue.gif Sorry man, maybe if you had boobies, the other half of my "we" does. tongue.gif I'll most likely be heading out there saturday, gotta call about a room, though. I'm sorry Cara, we must be enemies. tongue.gif One thing I have over Schumi; At least I've never been passed by a Minardi tongue.gif

jallen100: "When you get in to the turns at abouy 150 you just get pinned in the side of the seat" Try doing that, and having to turn both left AND right. My street car can see 150 in the S turns on 670 under high street. Cup cars = unimpressive. Desperado: "You know. In 69 and 70 they were running 200 MPH there" You know, in 69 and 70, it was actualy racing, not this crap they do today. graemlins/thumb.gif Desperado: " There is no reason to believe that a different car, without any of the restrictions cound hit 275 safely on a superspeedway. " A winston cup car cannot do 275, restrictor plate or not, on any oval in existence. Talledega is about as fast a track as they can get on. and making the jump from 228 mph to 275 hp would take about twice as much HP as making the jump from 180 mph to 228. BLACKBIRD99: "CART cars are better since they're lighter and more aerodynamic." Yes, they are what we in the racing world call "Race Cars". As apposed to the rolling purpose built billboards that are run in NASCAwR. They are neither stock cars, nor race cars. Race car being something built for the sole purpose of being fast, the cup cars are built for the purpose of looking like something it isn't. Its a shame those motors are wasted on such a shitty car. BLACKBIRD99: "Go to watch a race in person, and you'll be hooked. graemlins/thumb.gif " Didn't have that effect on me. I actualy had the opportunity to do some hotlaps at gateway. After 2 laps, I had expereinced all I cared to, got bored, and brought the car in. My 95 Tbird saw 120 there, I can have more fun on a set of onramps late at night. F1 at indy is the only race series that I'd call addictive, as far as watching it in person. i know I'd get better race coverage on TV, andI'd save alot of money staying here..but..but, I gotta go! I went for qualifying last year, and just had to stick around for race day, bribed the gate worker $20 to let me in without a ticket, good times now why the hell cant I put more then 2 quotes in a thread without them dissapearing?

Only repair work ever needing done to the bird was the transmission (my fault anyways). 130,000 mile daily driver, and I open lap it regulary. Open lapping = beating the ever living shit out of every system on the car, I've got a solid 20+ hours of absolute balls to the wall driving, maxing out everything in the car but the stereo, and I've never had any reliability problems with the car, other then a transmission leak. (probably should have fixed that sooner then I did, or at least tried to keep the fluid full tongue.gif ). Everything is stock, 8 years old, accept the transmission, the U/D pullies, the exhaust, the MAF/tune, and the tires. And I can garantee my slow car will turn a faster lap then your bad ass DSM at any road course in the world, and yes I'm more then willing to back it up. Indeed, consider the source. Want a reliable AWD turbo car? Get one of these: http://membres.lycos.fr/jmdl/images/siecle/integrale.jpg or a volvo or a subaru. graemlins/thumb.gif DSMs are to cars as Falkens are to tires.
-
ummm, sadly, DSMs do. Not a crappy DSM crack, They have actualy been know to just catch fire due to a wiring problem from the factory, its documented. DSMs are the crappiest, lowest quality AWD turbo cars you can buy, its not a crack, its a simple fact man Freinds dont let freinds buy DSMs

Unlike your car...and the Yugo, they designed and built competition vehicles. The catch of living in "the best damn country on earth" is, we get shittified versions of cars. It "can" make as much power as your GTP "can", chris. http://www.homepages.hetnet.nl/~scorpion037/037_1981.jpghttp://www.josef-bayer.de/roehrl/images/rally037.jpg

dude, if you still have the old bike you had last time I saw you, I've be afraid to take it off the kickstand, let alone take it to 100 tongue.gif Nice run ryan, mind your tires, though.

how ya gunna do that? Anyone who tried to grab him up to inspect him would get mangled. BTW: that pic is not a pic of the asshole, thats just to show a pissed off dragon. The one int he pic is a significantly more vauable saphire dragon. Bearded dragons are omnivours, and very easy to take care of. Just looking ofr a good home for the little dickhead, thus why I dont sell him to some random shmoe at the herp show.

My car, $5k. You dont get much more non traditional then a high 14 sec modular land yacht that can handle corners better then most cars on the road (if you know how to weild it ) Free lessons with puchase. 96 Tbird Sport, driving your living room was never this much fun graemlins/thumb.gif

I'm REALY liking their new trend. Most would consider 300hp enough for a production car. DTM street car Or, for you family guys out there, a 4 door with some punch: CLS 65 AMG. Do you need 612hp in a 4 door? no Do you want 612hp in a 4 door...with a warrantee? Fuck yea
