  1. Racer X You scored -31% Congratulations. You are the real thing. Chances are you could tear down your engine and put it back together in a weekend. You know a decent amount about racing dynamics. The "FATHF" culture has been a bane to your existence since you've been in the game for years before that horrid movie was released. Auto-x, drag racing, track time, you know enough to not sound like an ass while talking about it, and you can probably hold your own on the track too. Race on, good citizen, for you are a true Racer.
  2. I always thought so too. Not so, according to a prosecuting attorney downtown. I got a laser ticket for 74 in a 65 and laughed at the cop inside because he wrote me a failure to display citation for no front tag on the same ticket. I pointed this out, and the prosecutor didn't seem to care. I go back to court next Thursday... looks like I better do some checking up on the ORC concerning this. EDIT: Did some research; as it turns out, there is no distinction made between radar and laser guns in terms of regulating their use, according to the ORC. [§ 4511.09.1] § 4511.091. Arrest or citation based on radar, timing device or radio message from another officer. (A) The driver of any motor vehicle that has been checked by radar, or by any electrical or mechanical timing device to determine the speed of the motor vehicle over a measured distance of a highway or a measured distance of a private road or driveway, and found to be in violation of any of the provisions of section 4511.21 or 4511.211 [4511.21.1] of the Revised Code, may be arrested until a warrant can be obtained, provided the arresting officer has observed the recording of the speed of the motor vehicle by the radio microwaves, electrical or mechanical timing device, or has received a radio message from the officer who observed the speed of the motor vehicle recorded by the radio microwaves, electrical or mechanical timing device; provided, in case of an arrest based on such a message, the radio message has been dispatched immediately after the speed of the motor vehicle was recorded and the arresting officer is furnished a description of the motor vehicle for proper identification and the recorded speed.

I will agree in some fashion. I worked for NAPA for several years before I came to Advance, and I would have to say that as far as commercial sales/service go, NAPA > *. It's unfortunate though, that they are so well respected; they couldn't be any less receptive to the needs of a walk-in customer if they tried. It's difficult for a store that is 80% retail/20% commercial to infringe on their territory because of the inability to service the customer properly. We don't have 7 trucks per store, 7 people to drive them, or more than one or two to answer their calls. We simply can't compete with the delivery times. As far as retail goes, well... we're just in a niche market; half of the would be NAPA customers are too cheap to even think about going there when there's an AutoZone or Advance nearby. Good for us. smile.gif
  12. Bwhahahaha!!! I love it in the third video when the Z28 and the 300ZX go at it.... fucking hilarious.

  15. As much as I don't like George Bush, we can't blame the deficit on him alone. Just some numbers for consideration: 09/30/2004 $7,379,052,696,330.32 09/30/2003 $6,783,231,062,743.62 09/30/2002 $6,228,235,965,597.16 09/28/2001 $5,807,463,412,200.06 09/29/2000 $5,674,178,209,886.86 09/30/1999 $5,656,270,901,615.43 09/30/1998 $5,526,193,008,897.62 09/30/1997 $5,413,146,011,397.34 09/30/1996 $5,224,810,939,135.73 09/29/1995 $4,973,982,900,709.39 09/30/1994 $4,692,749,910,013.32 09/30/1993 $4,411,488,883,139.38 09/30/1992 $4,064,620,655,521.66 09/30/1991 $3,665,303,351,697.03 09/28/1990 $3,233,313,451,777.25 09/29/1989 $2,857,430,960,187.32 This is our "National debt" year by year. While looking at recent history, we can see that our current President's administration has increased our debt by a larger margin than the previous three did. Does this surprise anyone? No, of course not... inflation, Homeland security, and the cost of war all contributed to this. Oh, and not to start a war, but on the topic of Canadian prescription drugs being allowed into the States, here's my two cents. How long do you think it will take for US pharmaceutical players to become price competitive once the floodgates are open? They're not going to just roll over and die; but if they refuse to compete, they're going to be in deep doo-doo. Competition is the heart of free enterprise, and either they will learn to play the game, or they'll cease to exist... just like any other business in the good old USA. Look at the story of Wal-Mart, and the businesses it's killed off in their quest to be the retail success they are. How many jobs did they outsource? I'll bet it's far more than we'd lose by allowing Canada to sell drugs here. I'd also bet that we all know why they did/are doing it, too. To make or save a buck. Yet no one cries when they get the George Foreman grill that costs $80 at a locally owned store, for $15.99 at Wally World, despite the effect that price difference has on everyone from the supplier on down. Unfortunately, as much as we'd like to believe otherwise, a good percentage of "Patriotic Americans" are willing to turn the other cheek when it affects *their* wallets. Where was everyone when our beloved Big Three were going down the tubes in the 80s? Buying less expensive, equal or higher quality products imported from Japan or Korea, that's where. That, my friends, is flip-flopping in my book. *Flame suit on* smile.gif
  16. No open mind needed. Regardless of whether or not you support Bush, (Which I don't) you have to agree that there is a degree of validity in that article. [ 11. October 2004, 03:05 AM: Message edited by: SlowZ06 ]
  17. Just FYI, The guy's name is Lloyd Harvey, and he knows everything there is to know about a 'vette.
  18. I don't have anything, but somewhat near my house is a shop called Petro Annie's... the guy that runs it is a little strange, but he's got a ton of cool stuff like restored soda machines, traffic lights, old car brochures, gas pumps, lighted pump toppers, etc. It's at Weber and I-71 near the railroad tracks, just in case you didn't already know about it.
  19. I have the same one... along with about 30 others in a glass case in my dining room. I think I paid $35 or so for mine, I bought it at the fair a year or two ago.
  20. graemlins/thumb.gif And you wanted to race my Vette why? smile.gif
