jesus and they let him keep running time after time... apparently money will buy anything
I would hope they keep this guy away from these events as this is the third event that he spun the car on video. Who knows how many other times he has spun the car.
-
This is the third time that car has spun and gone of the road. I would love to hear all the excuses that come from all three videos.

Linn it's truely an amazing event. Makes you realize how poor we all are lol. This is the last year they are having it at the south beach conv center. They haven't finalized plans for where it will be held going forward but still should be stellar. If you ever want to go to this one or the fort Lauderdale show let me know . My ladies company can get free passes.
I'll keep that in mind.

Going to the Miami boat show to see the boat unveiled. Can't wait to see how fast this boat will run, believe its getting mercury #8 drives as well. Should be a 200mph boat when all is dialed in.
I would love to go to the Miami show, it's just not in the cards for me this year.

GTI without question or look at the Focus RS or Fiesta ST.

It's such an understated looking motor until you really start looking at it. I really like that about it, all business.

look at those fuel lines, congrats.

Does anyone else think it looks like some ricer won the lottery and built a car with 4 turbos and 6 exhaust tips?
-
Poor Bravo is toast with that much HP. Is the exhaust you have going to support enough cam? Going to need some tall risers to prevent reversion.
The headers are 2 1/4 inch tubes and dry to the tips, I'm going with a decent sized cam but I don't want to go to big and have reversion issues. RIP bravo, I know it's coming, I'm just going to try to be as easy as I can when it comes to rolling on the power.

What are they using for tuning? Cobb?
-
Putty Brandon Wright has one for sale. Do you have his number?

Full cowling is already removed. I run a JB4 on the street and bypass it at the track due to temps - the JB4 "turns off" at 280*F oil temps. Have a catch can as well, fortunately, the car doesn't see much blow by.
Are you using the "Max Cooling" feature on the JB4? If so does it help?
-
Thanks for the various advice guys. I have noticed that a lot of people with domestic cars are using 165 or 180* t-stats. Is there any hard info out there on what a general "ideal" water temp is for modern aluminum engines?
My short term plan is run mostly distilled water + WW or the like in the OE radiator and take it from there. I need to pull the bumper cover off and see if there is a way to optimize the OE oil cooler as well.
I have a 160 thermostat in both of my modern cars (Yukon and Camaro) and the BMW will get the 165 since they don't offer a 160. You don't drive in winter so you don't need to worry about heat so 165 is the way to go. I've never had a heat issue with the Yukon in the winter and I wanted to keep the motor cool while towing, so I converted to E fans and did the 160 thermostat.
Auto manufacturers run the "modern" motors warmer now for emissions not because they are "modern" motors. I've never had any issues fowling any sensor, this is one of the first thing GM guys do to their car/trucks when they are serious about making power and cooling the motor.
If you actually want to see a difference start with a thermostat and then change your cowl.
Do you have a Jb4 on your car or a catch can?

Nothing against Bill at Total Marine, he has helped me out a lot. But, after my Formula was stolen it was Kunkels that rebuilt it for me and they did a great job with great communication. Again, I have nothing against Bill, just another option.
I've talked with Jason and actually purchased my prop from him. I'm doing most of the work and the motor will hit a dyno before it goes back into the boat. Bill has been very good to me, allowing me to use his shop and tools to work on my boat.

Nice purchase and I hope you love your BMW as much as I love mine.

Still going with the blower setup with the rebuild ?
Yes, blower with roller conversion big cam and aluminum heads. My goal is to run out of blower around 800 HP.
-
Nice number JP, how does the car put the power down?
-
lol at Cavin in this video and Tilley
And in this one when the gold car will not stay running.

I'm really excited about my Hamilton Below Zero, here are a few quick pictures. It also came with both the rubber and metal band.
