Everyone keeps talking about the cool stuff that place has. I've been here almost 8 years and I first heard about them last week. Since then I've had 5 different people mention them and how cool the stuff they carry is. tongue.gif

I finally gotten the stereo upgrade mostly completed and am now beginning the 'performance' oriented phases of the mod's and found out a sucky fact. I have been told that in order for me to bolt the catback on I've got to float the Vette at least 36" in the air! John (Blozilla) confirmed that he had to do the same with his old vette and achieved it by lots of blocks of wood and shakey jack/stands... I'm not too keen on this thought. Anyone got any ideas on how I can achieve this hieght safely without wooden blocks or shelling out extra money that can be put to other needed mods? This thing is way too slow as it is so every penny counts to bring it to an acceptable level. It's times like this I wish I would have just saved up a little extra cash ahead of time and bought one of those personal garage lifts for the house. Bah... I'm sure I'm going to end up paying Midas, Tuffy or whatever anyhow under the circumstances-so much for modders pride in doing everything himself. graemlins/nonono.gif

If You'll go down some on the price for the amp I'm interested in purchasing both the amp and Audiobahn/box. The amp seems to be selling cheap in a lot of places, but with your 4 year warranty I think you have the better deal. Any chance you'll take $150 for it? I can bring you cash tomorrow and pick it up (we live in Sunbury and I can give the wife the vette and use the explorer to pick it up). Nope, no burns for me. To be honest I haven't even really had the problems you mentioned with it beating down on my head with heat either.

WOW isn't in this area yet for us to use either. I wanted to switch a while back since there had been so much possitive said about them (and the price break). So far the tests I've run show it hitting around 5400k on the low side and the highest of 5800k on the downs. Not too bad. I'm still not convinced it's worth the extra $25-$30 bucks though other than bragging rights. You need to tell WOW to get on the ball and hook up the Sunbury area Joe. smile.gif

Well, I'm home and using it... Not a lot to report yet really. Now that I have more pipe to pull down with, I can't come up with anything I need to download. tongue.gif Oh well... Its not slower at least.

They are claiming that it bumps the download rate to ~6k from the standard ~3k. The 512 upload rate remains however. Anyone using this care to verify the claims? For heavy gamers and media/hax0r downloading peeps I can see that this could be very desirable... The price difference is kind of crazy in my opinion. ~$69 vs the ~$39 package price you get for standard with cable bundles. They also have mentioned that there are NO price breaks for the packaging with the Premium RR. I'm giving it a shot anyhow with that 30-day money back satisfaction guarantee so I guess I'll see for myself when I get home today. On the Digital Phone thing, I caught a blurb about them offering phone service for $39.95 a month for your home. Unlimited Local and Nationwide Long Distance... Not too shabby, I'd bite if it were here. Sadly they said it's only around the core office area in columbus right now so Sunbury won't see it till around the mid summer or so. All they have to do now is supply the electric over the cable and then I can pay all my utilities in one bill, lol--errr, well and water...

LOL It has been my experience that smaller people aren't to be underestimated. I suppose it has something to do with having to survive in a big world that makes em that much tougher. I'm 6' 325lb and I'm more afraid of pissing off my lil' ol' 100lb sister than someone twice my size. Heck, take my wife for another example. I just did a check on EBay, and saw the same thing. The ones I saw there they were trying to sell for 9.50 a piece so you are definitely already asking really low. If you don't want to try ebay out, I can definitely skip a couple lunches (like it would hurt me, lol) and meet in the middle for $15. I am needing to work on my collections a bit and the price is right for me to not get yelled at, lol.

I'm not familiar with All-Data. I know Helms are great though. Good Shop manuals should be a required first 'mod' for everyone's garage. Too many people miss out on this fact. Sure if you are half-decent you can get by without them, but for all the money spend on other things when we 'mod' and/or maitanance our toys why skimp on the books/software?

How about $80 for the XBox? I wouldn't normally try to lowball, but since you can find the Refurb ones now for ~$115 with a free pre-played game of your choice I'd be better off going with that. Of course, if it is modded and ready to go, that's a whole different story. Let me know either way.

That pretty much hit it on the head! Sadly they are going to viewed negatively for anything happening to a customer's car while in thier care. For instance, even if a paint shop has you sign a waiver saying that anything that happens to your car at thier facility isn't thier fault, I'd definitely want to know if a problem like that had occured before. Then I can make my own judgement call as to whether or not it is dismissable or not. If the paint shop is in a bad part of town and it looks like something that is more likely to occur again, then I'd probably just pick up with the next shop on my list. That all said, I've heard nothing but the best about those guys! I'd personally chalk up the occurance a stroke of extremely bad luck that is far from the norm. It could have happened anywhere, it just so happened that it was with them unfortunately. Based on that I'd bring them my business anytime with confidence. Hopefully Hensler got more out of it than telling them to buzz off though after putting a blemish on his name like that. I'd be seeking monetary compensation amongst other things....

You might want to try Fowlers, I had them do the work on my LS1's heads. They seem to have a pretty reputable history and lots of experience with tons of applications. I've heard nothing but good things from others as well.
