  1. Sounds good too me. Maybe the next one we can have on a less humid day and with even cooler air Ooooo and next time I want to borrow that 'Nitrous In a Bag' from Mike and see what kind of difference it makes by cooling down some of that heatsoak. Hell, maybe I should just buy one and be done with it. tongue.gif When was the last CR dyno anyhow? It's been a while hasn't it? We could always, errr.... Eliminate, someone from the list. People disappear all the time ya know. graemlins/nutkick.gifgraemlins/trout.gif
  2. Ah, so it was just his computer that was dead, not the list. What was wrong? Don't guess it matters now if he has it resolved, but in the future maybe I can help out. graemlins/thumb.gif Welcome back Mark! Wherever you are!
  3. Alright, who's sleeping at the wheel. graemlins/wtf.gif I've not even had my first dyno run posted yet much less my second... tongue.gif Looks like Ponyfreak posted his numbers for the lincoln as well that haven't made it up. Someone has to cater to the dyno queens (eerrr kings) damn it! And where the hell are the dancing girls!?!? Errr wait... Wrong speach... Seriously though, did we just finally give up on the Top 25 Dyno List?
  4. LOL, you are always looking for a run aren't ya. tongue.gif We'll get to run em I'm sure, Although the way this winter is rushing upon us it might be next spring. Actually, have you been considering what your next round of mods will be? For me it'll probably be some subframe connectors due to the wonderful flimsyness of the 'vert chassis.
  5. Got my new numbers today - 451rwhp/480rwtq. The car weighs in at 3780lb (told ya she was a pig). Here are the sheets from the Dyno as well: http://home.columbus.rr.com/whiskersnbrooms/pics/Dyno%20112.jpg http://home.columbus.rr.com/whiskersnbrooms/pics/Dyno%20113.jpg http://home.columbus.rr.com/whiskersnbrooms/pics/Dyno%20114.jpg [ 07. 6. Nope, the X1 doesn't require flycutting. I would, however, recommend an LS6 intake and if you have the cash, head work to really wake up that cam due to the high lift. And of course it goes without saying that your intake and exhaust flowing as freely as possible helps. smile.gif
  7. I believe so, but I'm not 100% positive as I believe there are a few that have dyno's from other places. I am pretty sure that this thread gets ignored 95% of the time now though, so you'll probably have to start a new thread in this section and ask there.
  8. Have you actually done any work to the car? I know that most people leave them alone, not wanting to 'hurt' their investment - silly people. Have you got any pictures of the car online, any 'bling' mods? BTW, I think the Top 25 dyno chart is dead. I haven't seen any of the more recent updates lately.
  9. Nope, that's it... The only things done that aren't listed is I replaced the stock idler pulley with a pretty blue Billet one (Matches the car's paint really well!) and I have the NGK TR-6 spark plugs. Everything else is 100% stock smile.gif I think I got lucky and got on of the strong stock engines, but of course the verts are 130lbs more than the coupes I'm told so I need the extra power to come close anyhow. smile.gif That and my rear springs are softer. graemlins/nonono.gif I'm still not so sure the car is faster than the TA was, but I LOVE most everything about it so it doesn't matter
  10. I was told by a little birdie, that headers are a MAJOR pain to install on 'stangs. I'll probably stay away from them. I've also read that if I move to the Kenne Bell that they actually don't recommend you to do the headers. Not sure why-but oh well tongue.gif I'm just happy to have some half decent numbers out of the thing to put on the list. Too bad the car is a Pig though. Not sure how much, but I know that it's TONs heavier than most of the other sports cars and it's a vert too. Oh well.... Just means I need to step it up a couple hundred more horses
  11. No wonder you have sockets for stripped ones smile.gif
  12. Finally got to get the Slobra Dyno'd. I had brian dyno it after having the pulley changed out and it made a best of 425rwhp/447rwtq. I can't wait to get a catback on this puppy so she can breath now smile.gif I just need to find one that can do that and no be obnoxiously loud. graemlins/wtf.gif
  13. I've actually presented this question to them before there. These were the responses but I never resolved the issue: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=64130&highlight=cruise+control
  14. Clock Spring eh? The horn works in it, but there is no air bag in it.
  15. I've just about pulled my hair out with this one. The truck is used and the cruise control hasn't worked on it since we bought it. I've checked all the normal stuff (fuses, the wires that I could find, etc) but no go. When I press the 'on' I would expect at the very least for it to show cruise on the dash (as I believe there is an idiot light?) but I don't even get that. Anyone know their stuff on the cruise control operation on these puppies and want to lend a hand in the trouble-shooting? If anyone is willing to help out there could be, gasp...BEER in it for ya!
  16. Yup, they all said it right. I'm 99.99% sure it's not your gas that is the problem. The LS1's can run 87 if you don't mind getting into the 'Low Octane' table, Ideally-at least in my application at Lee Howie's near demand, I finally put 89 Octane and ran it through a coupe tanks then tested at the track. I had no more knock than normal (under very similar weather conditions) and actually put down my best times ever. My heads are even milled down an extra .20 as well so I don't think that's the problem. When you said he only (or at least mainly) hears the noise on a cold start up (in the colder weather being worse) then that pretty much sealed it. It's a very common condition for LS1's and has become one of the accepted characteristics of the beast. I've heard of no seriously negative impact due to this condition and even have the same thing on my TA. I wouldn't worry about it if you aren't throwing lights and have no major 'ride' changes that have been noticed.
  17. I haven't had to do that in a LONG time, but it didn't seem like it was a big ordeal. I did just as described above-had the covers off and adjusted them while running. Granted I had no clue what I was doing really, just following the old' HP BOOK for 350 chevy small block instructions. I'm like you though, there is a certain point where I feel like I've fooled with something too long and it is not worth the price of my time to go any further. Lay a couple bucks down and get it done if you have to. There is no shame in that!
  18. Dang Jon! I didn't realize that those numbers were from a Mustang Dyno... What does that translate to roughly with a Dynojet? I still feel bad that you had so much troubles at the track on our run. Oh well, I guess it might be the only time I'll be able to produce a slip with the lowest time against that car. Maybe I should frame it-a once in a lifetime accidental occurrence tongue.gif I would have been Soooooooo toasted had things clicked for you on the track! Did you ever run at the track with the 10psi setup you ran on the dyno? I'd be curious as to what mph that turns... [ 03. January 2003, 03:41 PM: Message edited by: Ryoga (Garaged Until Spring) ]
  19. I was running a set of the 17's on the TA until just recently. I sold them with my old wheels. The only real complaints I have to give is that they are a lot heavier than some of the other tires I've had. Other than that, I can only compare them to the Goodyear GSCs and the Firestone Firehawks SZ50 EP's I've had on the car prior. The traction dry is about the same as the GYears and Lots worse than the Firehawks (The Firehawks were GREAT tires 1.80 60' times with these). The wet traction for the sumimotos was superior to the Goodyears but the Firehawks outperformed both by a decent margin. I don't recommend any of these tires for ICE/SNOW driving, at least with the TA I found the combination of power/ice/traction to be more than a little unsettling... Bottom Lines: GSC - Medium weight, wide stance, fair traction dry, poor traction wet, deadly on ice... AVERAGE price (Not worth it to me) Firehawks - EXCELLENT Dry and Wet Traction, narrower width stance than GSC's, medium weight tire, Not good for ice (Z rated after all), EXPENSIVE (Get what you pay for) Sumimoto - fair traction dry, good traction wet, Heavy Weight Tire, Also No good for ice (Z-Rated) CHEAP (for the money it might be justifiable if you just want to wrap your rims in some rubber for low price)
  20. Still sounds to me like your rotors are warped... Other than that it could be something with your ABS system.
  21. Of course when put this way, it makes the most sense... graemlins/fruit.giftongue.gif
  22. Your gears started grinding? Are you talking about the Synthetic Trannie Fluid? That's a whole different ballgame. The oil is great, the trannie fluid I've heard mixed things on. I don't use a Synthetic Trannie fluid since it is reportedly not the best the for the 4L60E trans in F-Bodies smile.gif Now, for the record, I give Redline props as well. In some aspects I see Royal Purple as the superior oil and others I see redline. It's all a matter of taste at that point. [ 31 October 2002, 10:38 AM: Message edited by: Ryoga Hibiki ]
  23. You answered your own question. After going through all the oil testing and oil usage topics, it seems like 10w-30 is the way to go in that situation. That is the weight I've been using in the GTP, and the TA now that I think of it. As far as 2500 miles, that is about on par with what I recommend anyone do anyway (that is anyone with my driving habits). I figure that since my car sees high revs on such a regular basis and is thrashed on pretty hard, I owe it to the car. [ 31 October 2002, 09:48 AM: Message edited by: Ryoga Hibiki ]
  24. Royal Purple is all that touches the TA and the GTP in our house. The stuff is GREAT! The only negative thing I've heard, was that it actually breaks down rather quick for a synthetic. If you're curious, you can search on LS1.COM for a thread on the results from a Royal Purple oil sample sent in for testing. The findings didn't really change my opinion any since I'm not one of these, "Since I've got synthetic I'll double or even triple the time in between my oil change", kind of people. Bottom line, get it, use it, love it, change it regular. Most people find they actually get a couple hourses out of it over other oils. [ 31 October 2002, 09:40 AM: Message edited by: Ryoga Hibiki ]
