  1. Crazy how many of these things in 2001 were still a fantasy, but after COVID in 2021 a lot of these priorities are becoming a reality.
  2. "Roll" is a well-regarded bike store on Lane Ave in UA. I went there for tires on my GT Backwoods last year during COVID and they were very helpful, considering a lot of other stores and even Amazon were short 26"x1.95 tires. I would try to get a GOOD used bike or splurge for a good-brand bike new. I bought my Backwoods from a CR member back in 2004(!) and it's still got servicable parts and rides great. I've always been able to get it serviced (once in FL around 2007 and once a few years ago) when needed. Huffy and other Chinesium bikes suck ass and will be uncomfortable to ride, let alone have components that will break or rust prematurely with replacement being not worth the bike itself. If you go big-box store, go to Dick's Sporting and see what they have.
  3. Dude, the video provided by NASA is insane in this one...
  4. https://jalopnik.com/porsche-claims-its-synthetic-fuel-could-make-combustion-1846319665 https://www.automotiveworld.com/news-releases/mazda-first-oem-to-join-the-efuel-alliance/ I'm very curious what the 8 ingredients are that make this synthetic fuel, but no doubt it'll be very expensive. However, for the right vehicle or right time, I'm definitely interested in hearing more about this.

  6. Little disappointing that most major online news sites don't even talk about this landing, the pictures, or anything else. Let's just snipe at each other across political lines...

In Breckenridge Distillery, grabbing a Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey to bring back for a bud... Guy let me know how much Ohio liquor laws suck. Seems legit.
  9. I’ve got a few cars as well, and a truck with an 8ft bed is handy to have. However, is it really worth trading such a reliable/efficient car ALL THE TIME for a serious downgrade in mileage...and use of a truck a fraction of the time? Are you not 30-60min away from coming back with your truck if there’s a hauling need? Even if there’s a buy-sell-trade freebie my wife wants me to pick up 20-30min away, I’ll swap vehicles if needed. Give someone a schedule and they should be able to work with you returning for something.
  10. Respectfully, I don’t understand the logic here. You have a Tundra that gives you no problems, that I’m assuming you own outright (no payments at 242k miles). Do you owe on the car? What car is it? Getting into another V8 truck to save gas is ridiculous. I can understand you’re bored/worried about the Tundra but may need to reconsider your next options given miles driven and budget.
  11. 8 degrees in Breckenridge, CO...but the sunshine makes it feel a lot warmer. This winter is definitely wintering.
  12. https://www.wsj.com/articles/bidens-gun-policy-plans-start-to-take-shape-11613135990 I will be very interested to see how the Biden administration tackles gun control...
  13. You've spent WAAAAY too much of the last 4 years supporting Trump's actions to just blame "the system" now, Tim. I may not have clicked your FB posts but they came up in my feed and I certainly remember your extensive messaging. He was in charge, and promised positive change. It's OK to say that he failed as a leader of this country. I'd love to see you type that out instead of blaming other factors.
  14. I did a tour through TriTex in Grandview. The guy was super nice as I dropped in pre-COVID to inquire about redoing the weathered leather in my '79 Lincoln. They had plenty of work going on and I had heard good things about them. After an initial conversation around 2-3 options they would recommend (including repair and sheepskin covers they could custom stitch) I ended up repairing the leather myself. But, I have to give them credit for taking the time to talk about my ideas after dropping in unscheduled on a Friday afternoon.
  15. Greg, the Trumpers will say that the Capitol attack was Antifa. Just like BLM protests that went bad. It's those darn rabble-rousers that should be removed from the message. Except for BLM. Lookit those trouble-makers. That's where it all started. Ignore that every video at the Capitol insurgence is filled with 40-60yo tacticool white guys from Pataskala. It's ANTIFA DAMMIT. Hollywood make-up to have them look like they carry both CCW cards and a key to their Charger/Challenger. CAPITOL INSURGENCY: Sponsored by MyPillow and Rosland Capital. Present your wristband for 20% off the Trace Adkins concert at Wheeling Casino.
  16. https://www.axios.com/impeachment-video-trial-trump-raskin-193be8dc-e5d8-4eab-931f-e0b7bf7f44a7.html History, properly edited, will not be favorable to anyone who considered Pro-Trump actions on January 6th justifiable when there was property damage and loss of life. That's tough to watch.
  17. Thanks guys. The drawers are in good shape, it's just the bottom edges that's slowly rubbing away on the rollers. Maybe I could fashion some channels out of aluminum flashing to provide a track at the bottom of the drawer sides for the rollers to glide on? 5.5"H x 18.25"L on the sides.
  18. I know Franchi and a couple other guys dabble in woodwork... I'm gutting the cabin on my '75 RV to repair the leaky roof. Some of the original drawers have particleboard sides that slide in and out on rollers. Because this thing is so old, the particleboard is starting to crumble. Is it possible to strengthen the drawer sides with an epoxy? Something brush-on that hardens? I didn't google this AT ALL...went straight to my boys on CR.
  19. How many shots did that woman take? Even when Grandpa came back with a long rifle she was still moving... Also agreed: it pays to be nice and show people respect. Not to go down class warfare here, but the vid, street-parked cars at the bottom of the frame make me think it’s apartments, and old man across the street in his single-family home may not like the tenants.... EDIT: I didn’t hear the audio, and now YT a pulled it.
  20. This. I know I'm cheap and haven't been into the car game as much as a lot of you guys, but after being in FL with my Corvette back in 2005-08, we bought a condo and subsequently upgraded in the following years, and I have no ragrets for that being my investment (over expensive fun cars). Even when we're not in our condo during winter, there's a great feeling of "at least someone else is paying for it" as it rents really well from Dec-Apr. No one is paying for your track car while it's in storage, are they? Last year, we had two long-time monthly renters cancel for Feb and Mar 2021 for COVID. It was $thousands gone. Happy to say both months ended up getting rented out by the end of 2020, and wifey and I even get to go down at the end of this month for a long weekend between reservations. It's very interesting to see the demand rise through quarantine, even with our monthly-rental property (we use VRBO but can't airbnb) The thing I tell people about a vacation rental, is you have to budget to pay for it even if it doesn't rent. I get that may be very conservative, but when COVID hit we refunded deposits without losing sleep because the bills were still getting paid. I think too many people buy a place going "but it'll airbnb for thousands a month!!1!1" until it doesn't, and then your life/job/home is possibly screwed. I can lever up and buy another property..but IMO, the cost of buying a new rental in 2021 is still REALLY high. If it's not hundreds a sq/ft, my beloved FL is 'SPENSIVE to insure, maintain, and pay for utilities if you're anywhere near the water (where people want to stay)...plus, it sounds like our lobby will eventually be submerged in water anyway by 2050. “¯\_(ツ)_/¯“ Sorry for continuing OT Enjoy FL if you can live there full-time, but family/jerb keeps you in Ohio I would continue enjoying renting great properties until the market comes down some.
