  1. https://www.vice.com/en/article/4adpv9/us-navy-has-patents-on-tech-it-says-will-engineer-the-fabric-of-reality Welp, if you followed Bob Lazar’s musings...it sounds like the U.S. Navy is patenting specifically the technology he’s referenced in the past. Crazy times.
  2. Hmm...is that supposed to be how the corrugated metal walls are oriented? I would think they should go vertical to channel water to the ground better. Also, easier to join at the corners. Straight edges.
  3. He’s an instructor at Mid-Ohio during season (last time I spoke to him in ‘17).
  4. Derek, impressive progress! I love how you’re able to incorporate a lot of Solstice parts onto the E30. Keep going with the updates!
  5. Everyone sweats in the summer. Get over yourself. After 2-3 months of living in FL, you'll be surprised how quickly your "blood thins" (you get acclimated to the humidity). Shawn Jones (former OG CR) used to go on and on about how much he loved the cold and it's too hot in FL blah blah blah...he and his GF moved to Cape Coral and I guarantee after a year he won't complain about the heat. Plus, when you're near the water (gulf, ocean, or big enough lake/pool), it's waaaaaay easier and more satisfying to get cool on a hot day in FL, as opposed to being cold outside and having to heat yourself. Can't wait to get back to Naples at the end of the month.
  6. I am appreciative of the effort from Cadillac. 668hp, Camaro stick-shift, Mag suspension and a great interior should be a winning combo. Curious to see what TheSmokingTire and others do with this on the street and track. I still am not a fan of the exterior...too busy and the f**king C-pillar sailpanels look so stuck on. Get it in dark, dark gray, blue or just go black.
  7. I hate winter. The ONLY good thing about a hard freeze is it hopefully culls a lot of the pest insects this spring/summer.
  8. No no no NOPE no NO NO NO NO NO
  9. Agreed. The supercharged 2012+ CTS-V was a flared-fendered aggressor. These look far too tame, and too plasticky. Plus, I look back and forth and really can't tell what the major differentiators are with each of these, at least from pictures. The last thing Cadillac needs with introducing performance sedans in an SUV world is for people to be confused at the difference/benefit of each car.
  10. https://jalopnik.com/here-are-the-2022-cadillac-ct4-v-and-ct5-v-blackwings-b-1846170050 Alright...my knee-jerk reaction is that Cadillac is making a very good sedan, and won't be able to market it at all. BUT... With the BMW M4 being ugly as sin at $80k....and Cadillac giving these things manual transmissions....I'm very hopeful on these things.
  11. ...that really had no idea what they were getting into in the first place. :gabe:
  12. https://www.dailybreeze.com/2021/01/28/auto-parts-maker-edelbrock-with-270-employees-closing-torrance-facility/amp/ They still operate a few foundries through their corporate parent, but you better believe that further innovation in Edelbrock performance parts will be in-name-only.

  15. Cam Ero Jenkins. License plate "CEJ 1"
  16. rug top. He's got a '60s Beetle in the second garage bay. Much better beach car than a RHD JDM slushbox with electric everything (that's gone bad).

  19. FS used Maytag. Never washed engine parts in it. $200 NO LOWBALLERS I KNOW WHAT I HAVE
  20. Gaddamn, you guys are brutal. Congrats on the new car! At least it's not a Camero or a Chunkllenger.
  21. I. Do. Not. Remember. That. Story.
  22. Guys, bringing up this thread again...finally called Flood Heliarc (per Kevan's recommendation as mentioned above) and they said they don't do this sort of work? Nickey - thanks for the recommendation and will call them. Any other suggestions? Possibly locally?
  23. When I had my BMW M42B18 4-cylinder head in for a 3-angle valve job and rebuild, I took it to NAPA on 161. They obviously farm out the machine work, but it was less than $500 for all the machine work, new valve seals, cam bearings and reinstall, etc...and was done on time. Mike at M&M had the head for a couple of months on the floor of his shop and never touched it. I forgot who recommended NAPA (Nickey?) but it was a great option.
