  1. LOL...3rd pic down, right side of pic on the floor. 16valve head with the exhaust manifold still attached on the top... Yup, that's my BMW head...right where I left it last week.
  2. Damn, that dood is one tough hombre...
  3. TELL MIKE I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MY BMW HEAD GADDAMMIT!!!
  4. I'll just leave this here... http://carbuying.jalopnik.com/get-your-pennies-together-because-nissan-gt-rs-are-plum-1718881651
  5. I love the car... Love the Disturbed reference to your s/n... But...I just don't know you...I mean the real you http://everybodysdracula.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/vlcsnap-2014-01-07-13h44m54s9.png?w=1000
  6. I saw that, Kerry...not able to make it down there in time...
  7. FYI because I am sensitive to this... - I've got the rebuilt (but without cams and trays) M42 head on eBay for $550 shipped as a back-up option. - Car-part.com showed a couple junkyards with M42 heads, but already one near Cincy was actually an M44 head which I can't use. Going to find out what Mike has to say...
  8. I'm surprised that today's drop in China hasn't affected the U.S. market as much. I'll keep an eye on Alibaba, Baidu, for opptys...
  9. Mitch, do you have a CrazyList ad or anything outside of CR? I'd like to share this with a few people that might be interested... No worries if not. Otherwise I'll just gank pics and email them...
  10. LOL at this thread. It had been a couple of years since Mike did the 300-6 in my Ford, and I could barely walk in my suit from the door to his counter without getting dirty last week. Still love the guy. Think about it...even if you did hire someone (or someone came in voluntarily) to shadow Mike for a year, picking up pieces and trying to organize them...you'd drive yourself or Mike crazy. Other shops have racks on the walls with old parts from 20-30 years ago...Mike just has those parts piled up on the floor.
  11. Shoulda gotten this. Drove it this weekend and it runs like a new truck for $6500. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122381&highlight=2006+trailblazer
  12. Well done, Nickey! Good luck on selling the 'Rado...
  13. I literally spoke face to face with Mike @ M&M this past Thursday(left him a VM, he never responded, and so I just went there to drop off the head). I'd rather you NOT go there since I need him to do my BMW head first. . He was going to some truck race at Eldoro??? may be why he didn't respond to you.
  14. One of my favorite bands from college days...
  15. Go back to the A5! Used S5? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Audi-S5-2dr-Coupe-/151754818647?forcerrptr=true&hash=item23554ac457&item=151754818647
  16. Good to have you coming back! Are you preferring automatic or stick? Tough to beat Subaru, unless you look at Audi/VW...
  17. If I got a used head (M42club.com has some dude with a bunch in Pittsburgh) I'm going to be in it for nearly as much money in transportation/machining as I would just repairing this head. Truly, I'd get a used head if there was a better option locally. FWIW...this ain't no Geo Metro engine...the head is massive on this thing; shipping is $150+ for any meaningful distances with the used ones I saw on eBay. So...I could get something used and gamble, or pay just as much money on shipping for a rebuilt head than I could have Mike @ M&M do a full rebuild locally. I'll wait to see what his prognosis is next week.
  18. I already texted a couple of people on here for opinions, but unfortunately I discovered last night that the head to my BMW 318 (M42B18 - 1.8L 16v 4-cyl) is cracked at the #3 cylinder by one of the intake valves and a waterjacket. The headgasket LOOKED to be alright, which the crack would explain why the cooling system was pressurizing and overheating without much in the way of steam out of the exhaust. I've already dropped it off with Mike @ M&M Head Service in Delaware who rebuilt the 300ci inline-6 in my Ford F100 a few years ago. He said they would disassemble the head and clean the parts/valves, then his cast aluminum welder will look at what it takes to repair the crack. Provided it can be properly welded (grind, weld, oven bake to cool down the head properly), they will machine the head and reinstall everything. Range for entire R&R and repair is $300-$500. I've gotten guarded responses from people, and I'm certainly aware this can be a risky repair though I do have faith that if someone can fix it, it's M&M. Anyone gone through this process before?
  19. HAI GUYZ...this Friday, I'll be interviewed on Auto Smarts 4U radio. Tune in at 8am to listen to me babble about Cars and Coffee and other car topics. I'll try to plug CR as well. http://www.autosmartsradio.com/
  20. Popped up on my YouTube feed...these are some interesting doods but have to admit these trucks are pretty amazing.
  21. In my defense, I hear about this company all the time because they advertise on Howard Stern's channels (Sirius 100 and 101). The ads are lulzy about a husband confronting his wife about her AshleyMadison profile and it's all good by the end of the 30 second spot. One time Howard and Robin came back on the air after the AshMad ad, and even they were laughing about the ad; "Who really has a conversation like that???" If the hackers release names, I'll quickly check for my wifey. :fa::fa:
  22. LOL. All y'all need to find jesus. http://gizmodo.com/hackers-threaten-to-expose-40-million-cheating-ashleyma-1718965334
