  1. I've got some sound deadener tiles, weatherstripping for doors and windows, and a "peep" mirror for the drivers' door on way from JC Whitney. My daughter likes driving the new truck, as it's faster (noisier! ) than Cleetus III. Good time on Saturday at C&C, despite the crappy weather. On Sunday, I started WELDING at 10pm on the front bumper (trying to shave it). Tacked in some bolts on the front of the bumper, then experimented with fillling in the back with a tacked in washer on one, and just filling in the back with a weld pool on the other. Bolted it back in and realized the washer makes one side stick out a good amount. Will make adjustments today. Gave myself a sunburn from welding!!!

  3. Why should you put mileage in a for sale ad? IT'S NOT THAT IMPORTANT HERP DERP However, it helps me to see an S600 in the background.
  4. I call my neighbors by their first names if i know them, and by their last name or house address if I don't? Lame...I know.
  5. Late start, ended up being a good crowd. Andrew, saw your WRX I think?
  6. Are you picking up these cars at auction?

Have to admit Bill (Dozzer's brother) had a badarse '34 Ford. Good turnout.
  8. Awesomeness that the weather is in our favor this morning! On my way out, with the pink Jeep in tow.
  9. DAMN, NATURE! YOU SCARY!!! A wave so big, it crashes...then eats up the crash and crashes again. Amazing.

I'll roll Cleetus out somewherez after 10pm for a bit...break in the engine some more!
  12. Thank you for your service!
  13. Whenever I create a shopping cart online for parts (which I've been doing a lot recently), I hit up retailmenot.com for coupon codes. Here are some of the recent ones: 5% off RockAuto.com - That's as good of a deal for them as I've ever seen 30%-40% off Advance Auto Parts 15% off JC Whitney If you're shopping for replacement car parts online, make sure you're taking advantage of a site like this! http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-21_jyYvyZxo/T16-fJ9X6oI/AAAAAAAADqI/HaJaKxYuxfg/s1600/themoreyouknow.jpg
  14. I switched around in the morning this week only because NPR is having their fund drive, and it's annoying having content interrupted with people asking you to call and donate. I mean, of all the nerve! :lolguy::lolguy::lolguy: That being said, Dave and Jimmy are decently entertaining, and I couldn't stand the Blitz for more than a few minutes. Clearly, D&J have a great program and the Blitz (unwisely) thinks they can/need to compete...
  15. Watch out, Cody..... SHE'S A LOOKER http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=669&pictureid=6070 I did install the muffler and hangars this afternoon. Holy sheeit...EASIEST.EXHAUST.JOB.EVAR. I took the glasspack out of the bawkxz, slid it on the Y-pipe. Installed clamp. Other end, installed hangar, bolted it with scrap bolt/nut/washers to existing hole in frame. SOUNDS GREAT...especially for a $20 muffler! I drove it for the first time outside of UA since buying it last August. The engine really has some serious torque, but I do need to adjust the carb and timing. Transmission shifts nicely. Shocks are laughable...might as well not even be on the truck. I NEED TO GET THIS THING IN THE WEEDS PRONTO. I don't want to have to pay for Dream Beams (lowering I-beams) but I may have to. Otherwise, I'm cutting 2 coils out of each front spring and living with the camber issues. If you look at the picture, I envision the hubs visually to be nowhere below the bottom of the body. Nothing "tucked", but low enough to smooth out the visual impact of the truck. It's good to have a driver again! Cleetus IV will see you at Cars and Coffee!
  16. So, I still get WalMart batteries because I make money on them. Here's another example: My '82 Ford F100 had a WalMart MAXX 34N battery from '08 (little colored date sticker on the top). It was getting pretty weak. In addition, I had a nearly new MAXX 78-group battery from '10 that was off of Cleetus sitting in my garage. I'm not even sure how it got there. Brought both batteries in on Sunday. No receipt. The customer service desk tested both batteries. Surprisingly, the '10 battery that was fully discharged when I took it out of Cleetus 2-years ago was still good. So was the '08 from the Ford. I told the woman I don't need the one battery, and the Ford is on it's way out. I want to see what the pro-rate warranty is, and regardless I want to return both for a new battery for the Ford. Again, with no receipt they beam the barcodes on both batteries, give me FULL PRICE VALUE for each onto a Walmart GC. I buy a brand new battery and some fluids, and still have $55 left on the GC! Walmart's batteries are made by Johnson Controls, who makes DieHard and 80% of the automotive batteries in North America. They are good batteries, but even if they weren't, I can't argue with a no-questions-asked corporate policy of essentially FREE RETURNS within a 4+ year window!!!
  17. Thanks, guys...I bought a $23 Dynomax/Thrush 28" glasspack, also clamps and a hanger, for just under $21 after discounts at Advance Auto Parts.
  18. Bought a Thrush/Dynomax 28" glasspack, with a clamp and hangers, for just under $21 at Advance Auto Parts. The box was sitting for so long at Bethel Road that there was a layer of dust on it. I still love Rockauto.com...but for a simple pickup truck project I've been macking the online discount codes through Advanceauto.com, and I pick up the part at the store on the same day. No shipping costs and instant gratification.
  19. Phil came out. Phil killed it. We drank and made merriness. <3 Look forward to doing it again next week.
  20. http://www.kinektdesign.com/product-gear-ring.php After not having a wedding band for 4 years (lost it after working on my lawnmower) I just got one of these rings and I have to say, I'm TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH THIS THING. I spin it all the fuggin time...it's a good thing there is a lifetime warranty because I'll probably wear it out. I've gotten compliments from family members and coworkers. CR, if you like this ring, just realize you'll be jumping on mah ballsack in getting one now! Seriously...it's totally fun. I had a John Hardy roll-ring before for my wedding band and I'm amazed how much I was able to suppress my tactile fixation for this long!
  21. Dammit...I'm a student pilot and Steve beat me to it!!! Static air port...airspeed indicator is a measurement of the differential between static and pitot.
