Thanks. It's become our favorite part of our holiday season. We like buying a little for each other but surprising someone and just giving with absolutely nothing in return is the best feeling in the world. It's so great to see a kids face light up when you're standing there holding a bag of gifts and then just split and let them have a good Christmas with their fam.

Time to give rather than receive. As we have the last 3 years my family and I will be taking a portion of what we would've spent on each other and buying gifts for a family in need. It could be a family in which mom and dad are out of work, a single parent raising kids, etc. If you know of or hear of anyone who may not have much PLEASE PRIVATE MESSAGE ME. This isn't something to blast publically. This isn't a publicity stunt. It's just something we decided to do privately as a family a few years ago after seeing a mother unable to buy gifts for her kids. My family has gone through tough times and we don't have much but we've been blessed with so much more than some others and we believe in passing on the blessings to others. We want this to be 100% anonymous. We don't want the family to even know us or our names. We just want to give Christmas to a family. Plain and simple. Thank you.

Moving to a small cabin soon that doesn't have one. Lemme see if I'm able to. If so I'll work out a deal with you.

That's my take on everything. Thanks all. And I never had any intentions of being "that guy" or causing any type of trouble. It was late and I was groggy and needed answers. CR always has them...even if they're not always right. Michael, that's sweet. I have a buddy that's friends with some of them. I'm taking my younger cousin and her friend. Saw them at the Newport and loved the show. I'm sure this one will be great too.

Going to the LC tomorrow night. I know the law passed that carry is allowed in establishments where alchohol is served. I don't drink so no worries on that front. Are we allowed to carry to venues? I'm assuming not but can't find info. I really don't want to NOT carry and I REALLY don't want to leave my pistol in the vehicle. Any insight?

QFT +1 and all that other goodness. My buddy has the DE and the S&W 500. Both are fun to shoot but he doesn't get them out much. Show stopper? Meh. If I see one at the range all I think is, "Man. That guy spent some dough and want people to notice him" so I usually just leave him be. .50 and social acceptance issues/anxiety is a bad combo. Hahaha. FWIW I like the Five-Seven b/c it's not seen as often as the DE. I also like the 500 but I like the classic looks of a wheel gun over a semiauto. Just me though. You do you bruh. I'd check out/shoot the FN before purchasing a DE though.

Dad's FNP9 or FNP40 (NOT FNX9/FNX40) is hands down and by far the best full size pistol I've shot. Just so you know that I haven't handled Hi Points and Jiminez Arms my whole life here's a list of guns I've shot regularly (and recommend also) that didn't compare IMO. These are guns I've handled on a regular basis, not just a rental once at a range or shooting 10 rounds from a buddies. Either I've owned them or very close friends or fam have owned them and I've put several hundreds of rounds through them (save the .44 and 50 calibers. That gets pricey. ) - Colt 1911 - Glock 26 - Glock 19 - Ruger SR9c - Ruger P95 - Ruger LCP - Ruger LC9 - Ruger LCR - S&W .44 revolver - S&W .38 Special - S&W M&P - S&W .357 mag - S&W 500 - Desert Eagle - Springfield XD (both full size 9mm and compact .40) I would recommend any of these (again, save the 50 cals for obvious reasons) as a great shooter. Once again though, and this is JUST my opinion, the FNP pistols by FN are the finest and most comfortable. It's like shooting a Cadillac (or insert fav luxury car here).

Buddy is a PSU fan (lives there) and wants to drive in and buy my ticket so we can go. I'll let him know and see if he still is able to.

Ruger SR9c/SR40c, S&W M&P, Glock 26/27, XD9(c/sc)/XD40(c/sc). Shoot those 4. Best bang for your buck IMO and I'd trust my life to any of them.

Everything you do takes time. The more time from the initial threat to stopping it is slim. I'm not talking from the time you draw or the time you raise your weapon to eye level. I'm talking from when the attacker begins his attack until you actually neutralize it. Try it. Have a friend start 7' behind you. Have him yell, clap, or give some audible signal. Try to turn, draw, acquire sights or turn on laser, get the pistol to where it needs to be, and squeeze the trigger (not with a loaded, live weapon obviously). If you aren't practicing exercizes like this you aren't practicing practically. Attackers aren't going to hang from a line stright in front of you at a distance you determine while you acquire a sight picture or turn on a laser. Get out of the range and into practical practice. Just my opinion though. Take it for the ~.02 it's worth...if that.

20 feet in my house is in 1 location. A hallway. If I can't hit a human sized target in a hallway and 20 feet even blindfolded I haven't trained enough. Also, as I said before, that 20 foot gap closes in the time it takes to draw a gun. I'm not going commando GI Joe sweeping throuhg my house anyway. I said I have a tac light. I said it's practical at times, most it's not though in day to day carry. I'll find a way to shoot a human sized target at 20 feet blindfolded and you try to be chilling all nonchalant and have someone start at 20 feet and see how quickly they close the gap as you draw, raise your firearm, acquire the sight, and squeeze the trigger. I'll get rounds off at least. Potato, tomato. We're all saying essentially the same thing. If you can afford them and it works for you go for it but don't expect a light/laser to make you Johnny Pistol Shooter Wyatt Earp. Practice with what works for you.

1) I said I'd use a light if the situation and time allowed. 2) You into taking time to fumble with a light when it's not necessary? Yeah, me neither. Thank you. You guys talking about seeing your sights, I'm left to assume your instructor didn't show you how quickly someone can close the gap from 20, 15, 10, 7, and 3 feet. If they did you'd see that reacting, drawing, and getting a sight picture isn't practical. Night sights are a waste...unless you all are getting mugged in dark alleys from 50 feet by someone with a walker. We did a drill where we had to walk through the room and someone in the group had to make a threatening sound and approach us at a brisk walk, not a run, from 7 feet out. By the time you reacted, drew your weapon, and put it on target they were touching you. Run this drill and see. IF you have time to acquire sights you REALLY need to think about whether or not you actually need to pull the trigger. The tac light I agree with to an extent, but what I was saying is it depends on the situation. I have one by the bed but the surefire is too big to carry. Also, learn how to use a light. Just like a pistol or a knife if, God forbid, a break in does occur a light left on sweeping the house only serves to give away location.
