It's another end of an era. R.I.P. in pieces, Cleetus IV/Elliot II. She gone. Sold her earlier tonight. The saving grace is it went to a young farm girl studying at OSU ag that wanted an old truck to drive and restore even further and with what Clay did added with improvements I've made it's a GREAT start for her. May see this one at a Der Dutchman cruise in next year since she's around Plain City but doubt it'll ever make another CC&C or anything else.

The '01 Passat and '02 Jetta I had both said to disassemble most everything in front of the windshield basically for a water pump. VAG lol. Never again. YMMV. Affordable, boring, decent MPGs, and reliable? Camry or Accord. The end. I personally prefer the Camry but we've taken a variant of both to nearly 300k with nothing other than oil changes and tires and they have lived on after we sold them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ True, but there are some out there that look good on the surface anyway. They're gonna suck on gas though.

It's DOT FMVSS 218. Date on it is 2013 and as I understand you add 7 years from the date.
