  1. Went and bought a new 40# tank at Rural King yesterday. Was talking with a ontractor we use today and he said, "ya shoulda asked me. I would have given ya two 100# tanks for that price," and here we are. Tonight and tomorrow look stupid busy. Hoping to have more progress sunday and monday.
  2. The 5 window is officially a 5 window again. Dad and I got the corner glass in last night. Those are the originals from '52.
  3. Thanks, man. Hoping to have it up and running this weekend...if I get time. I may go get a tank for it tomorrow.

I don't take it as a knock. I can't bring myself to drop that kind of coin on something so...perishable. Poor people problems. It's like an exotic car. I'm not saying it's not worth $250k, I'm just saying even if I could afford it I'm not sure I could bring myself to do so just for something used so little that will do nothing but depreciate. I know bourbon may not depreciate but it's just something to drink. If I like something anywhere in the $15-100 range I'll just stick with that. My favorite thus far, as mentioned several times during reviews on our podcast, is Jefferson's Ocean Voyage 3. I'm good sticking around the $75-100 range for my personal "good" bourbon's. Again, not that some isn't worth $400+ due to rarity or what not but I don't get it. That's just me though. Same reason I don't get paying $18 or something for some fancy IPA. Cliff's: I'm poor white trash.

I don't disagree. I also don't see the value. Investment wise potentially, but I don't get it I guess. I know. That's a "me" problem and I'm prob wrong.
  6. Made enough from the PA event to cover all of our costs AND purchase this bad boy: It's my first personal propane forge. Definitely a game changer. Baby steps, Bob.
  7. Chase Young is a stud but the Bosa's were, and one is tonight, studs. Big shoes to fill.
  8. Bingo. Iconic car known for, well, what it is, so every Tim, Dick, and Harry, gets one ASAP and never owned more than mom's civic. If GM or Dodge made better products and had a better reputation it'd be a bunch of dumbasses wrecking those. Remember the SRT4's and Evo8's? You answered your own question and were correct.

Great info, and call me poor white trash, but there's not a bourbon on the planet worth thousands. Not even into the deep hundreds. I don't care what anyone says.
  10. I'm kind of anxious to see what Day and crew does to adjust. Just seemed to finally be getting in rhythm. Lauren is offline Roll Tide Last Activity: Today 08:12 PM :lolguy:
  11. Well, sine the last link fired up some convo, here's another.

I've never heard of OKI so I did some research and found this review of their 10 year. For $50 I'd hope that isn't the case but I will still look for a bottle to try myself. Never had Blaum's either but their website was lacking any real info. I found this review on it: I haven't tried Willett yet either but most reviews I just read were at least favorable. As for the other 2 I want to give them a try to see for myself but it seems as though Blaum's is more hoaky and OKI is run of the mill. If that's the case I'll stick to the tried and true "kiddie shit" (not really sure what you meant by that, ). I'm always looking for new things to try though so if I happen across any of those I may snag a bottle to try and review.
  15. Thanks, fellas. No, Tom. Sxott didn't go. Hoping he can next year and hoping I have more custom knives done by then. Profits from this event are funding a new propane forge and we're moving soon so I'm hoping to have more of my gear at home and be able to work on things more.
  16. I had a chance to go to the Uitwaaien Bushcraft Gathering (http://www.pagathering.com) and do demonstrations and set up shop last week. It was a great time and packed with all kinds of instructors teaching knife care, axe care, edge sharpening, soap making, moccasin making, wood carving, wild animal dispatching/cleaning/cooking, and more along with the likes of Dan Wowak from Alone season 3. There were vendors selling anything and everything to do with outdoor survival and camping/hiking/outdoor activities in general. A view from a scenic overlook near the site of the event. Another view. This was taken on the bridge as seen in the first pic. Some of my crap on the table. My forge and anvil set up with tomahawk/axe throwing and a great survival instructors booth set up in the background. Multitasking with the woodfired forge. The spike knives I returned home with. Posted them tonight and sold 4 of 5 within 10 minutes.
