  1. i am a corvette novice, what are the major differences between the c5 and c5zo6 I have seen different wheels, some that i have liked, but to me there was nothing that i would consider "breathtaking"... and talk about the classifieds etc... there "ain't shit" on those boards... I = newb I kinda do, spun barrels are so much less brittle than cast barrels, plus... cast wheels just look cheap, and the centers are so convex (normally), i hate it your wheels? from a noob perspective, they look like the 2001 Z06 Alcoa wheels (which were in-fact forged) But to counter your last point without turning this into a full-blown argument... Forged wheels are almost 100% always stronger than a cast replica/counterpart.. not always lighter (denser metal).. but most definitely stronger. Even the most high tech casting technique usually fall short of a forged product. they look cool for stockers, but i want somethign more agressive... are they 01 z06 alcoa wheels? if they are, they are forged.
  2. ^^^ Redrilled in the original 5x120 holes? I dont think that is a good idea, that will allow for "wiggle room" for the lugnut to but loosen and ruin the wheel, redrilling a 5x114 might be an option, dual lug pattern never hurt anyone.. .hmmm Andy, please explicate on your idea!!
  3. ^^^ PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, that's what i like!!! I am convinced! Thank you sir!
  4. Plain and simple. "My friend" is interested in buying a C5 corvette. He thinks that the wheels that people run on this bodystyle of vette are often too commonly seen. Teh truth is, I do like CCW wheels, they are great, but i see them everywhere. I'n not looking to pony up and buy HRE's (me being honest, i dont have 5k to throw at wheels, especially when they are extremely common) Then you have every copy-whore basement company that makes fored wheels that are great quality, but essentially they are jsut a variation or knockoff of another forged wheel,..... it's all been done before. Then you have the Cray wheels which are about 2300.00 a set (very reasonable...) but cosntructed just like every other pressure cast (i assuem that they must be pressure cast due to the price) wheel out there so there really is no advantage (construction-wise) to buying them. So finally (my last rant of the thread) the other son-of-a-bitch is that corvettes run a 5x120.65 (4.75) which is extremely close to BMW's 5x120 bolt pattern, thus allowing me to fidn something new and unique.... ^^^^ ......but upon research i have found that some agree that they fit without "rolling" issues and some disagree that they will roll "true".. (I'D LIKE EVERYONES OPINION/FACTS about this) So basically, thank you for listening to my rant. I want (from you guys) 1. pics of C5's with reasonably priced unique wheels ($3,500 or less) 2. verification (one way or another) if i can run a BMW bolt pattern 3. other thoughts or opinions TY
  5. THAT WAS SICK, the playoff is going to be great
  6. ^^^ she might be laying next to you
  7. Not to bust your balls jon, but Carluch and Gittens had similarly worded stickers out east years ago, which started the trend
  8. Not to be a dick, but i do want you to sound educated. "GTR face" is something that the Evo guys invented/adapted which is actually defined as "sunken face". People relate them to the look of the face of the wheel when actually the they just knocked off the term "GTR fitment" which refers to a wheel that is 9 or 10 inches wide with a (close-to) +20 offset.... which (you guessed it) became a standard and known fitment on the BNR, BN and R (skyline) chassis. ^^^ So basically, they took a 9ish inch wide wheel with a low (but still positive) offset and called it GTR face.... you need to run "some" negative camber! "deep dish offset" i don't know what you mean, because a TE37 (no matter what offset) will never be/look "deep dish" Lets bang fenders and slam cars on agressive fitment!!!....at least it would look great... to the outer wheel barrel? or are you referring to the face of the wheel., "dish" refers the where the barrel meets the wheel face, not the center "sunken section" of the wheel face In euro and vip trends, people call wheels with a "flat closed face" a dish wheel as well.... here is a lesson a wheel with big dish (AZA DOLCES) http://www.d2autosport.com/wheels/azaforged/DOLCE.jpg a wheel with a sunken face (BEE RACING BM) http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j30/wirelessalpha/Random/offset5bm.jpg the closest thing to both worlds (Weds Kranze LXZ) http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1075/806437757_5fd4eb2479.jpg a "dish" wheel...pertaining to the face of the wheel (Work Euroline DH) http://www.d2autosport.com/wheels/works/WORK%20EUROLINE%20DH.jpg
  9. East coast thaaaang Bro! You know it or ya don't. Still wouldn't put it on my car... but then again, i will rock a "Driftunit" sticker for the rest of my life, and a "Final Version" sticker too.... so i'm a loser

  16. ^^^ ichecked with Blagoi's, they are getting back to me... the other place quoted me 4050.00 as for the brakes. the rotors come individually, and the pads are sold in pairs.
  17. Backstory: My fiance's grandfather has a 1984 mercedes 380SL that he is looking to repair, whether or not he is doing it to sell it is unknown. to the best of my knowledge i think that he wants it to drive around the neighborhood at his lake house. Regardless, take a look at this work order that he got from a euro-specialty shop and tell me if you think the prices are fair, if you know of anywhere that will do it for cheaper, and if all of the items on the work order are "absolutely necesarry" and/or what ones he doesn't NEED to have performed. keep in mind that the numbers dont add up exactly because there is tax and a few other small misc. charges http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v202/s15driftking/WORKORDER.jpg

  22. My ex girlfriend wore flashy coach & louie purses because she wanted to be noticed... You had your car painted pink for the same reason. I believe that i have a much bigger mouth and a set of steel nuts to match, DO YOU want to continue on? Reminds me of a famous quote
