Hi guys, I have spoken with a couple dozen people in Ohio (Columbus, CLE, Akron mainly) that said they'd like to have a couple meetups to shoot this summer. I was thinking that I would extend that invite (or knowledge of these hangouts) to the CR guys. I think there are several complexes that can serve these needs. I have been to the first two. Delaware state park Range - 100 yard paper rifle range, paper pistol range Briar Rabbit in Zanesville - 325 steel/paper yard rifle range, shotgun stuff, steel pistol range Rayners in Blue Rock - 1000yard steel range, 3-gun courses, etc A couple of us were talking and thought it would be good to create a facebook page to be a method of informing people when we were going to shoot/meet. The page is called "Ohio Shooters small group". Check it out and join. Or, post your name on here and I will find you on facebook and add you. The goal is to have a fun group of people who enjoy shooting frequently. We even thought of having matches as well if people felt so inclined. But that will be down the road. The first shoot/hangout we are doing is at Briar Rabbit this Sunday. People will be getting there between 9am-10am and shooting till whenever (probably about 4-5pm). We will start out on the rifle range and then meander our way to the pistol range. I will be hanging steel on the rifle range. Hope to see you there. Let me know if you want to join the FB group.

someone of the medium-end places (bedrooms first, Ashley) need an initial question of "what in the store is real wood that isn't veneered". That might help to cross off a lot that the store has to offer. We shopped at bedrooms first. all wood bedroom set with cedar bottom drawers ran us about 3K (bed, dresser, nightstand). That's about as cheap as "good" furniture gets this day and age.

I have shot a dedicated CMMG 22lr upper. it seemed quality to me in the 100 rds I put through it. Sorry that I do not have more extensive experience with it.

Make sure you shoot a bodyguard before buying one. You may hate the trigger in every aspect. ( pull and reset, yikes)

Plano, They make all types of "grades" of cases. I carry my rifle in one of their higher end (Still cant touch pelican) cases. I think your fender roller will be just fine in one! its beefy and sturdy. just not waterproof and not quite as rigid as a pelican... But, its a heck of a lot cheaper. This one might be too big, but its the one I have , im sure they make smaller ones. Even vances would be a good place to check. They have all different sizes. If all else fails. Go to a music store/craigslist/ebay and buy a small instrument case. remove the interior and add foam. They also say its (Aimpoint PRO) less than a month of life if left on "9". Sidebar - Frank, do your aimpoint's go thru "hell and back" when you are out "operating"?

I took a cue and bought a new battery for my Aimpoint PRO. The dot is definitely brighter with the new battery (weird, huh ) As state earlier, I was having trouble seeing the dot in sunny conditions on Saturday at the Delaware range. I think I will be GTG with this new battery.

I have heard good things about the TRS25 and the Primary arms knockoff as well. One more bump for the vortex strikefire as well (personal experience).

That's an impressive point to make, its 3 years on setting 7 of 10. But, its only a month at "full blast" (highest setting).
