  1. Frank, the gas block is 12.5 inches from the receiver as an FYI.
  2. Regardless, I returned the scope... It also had a piece of goo that must have separated internally and landed on the inside of the eyepiece. Crazy
  3. I will check again, I had the rail off and the gas block was way down there...
  4. 16 inch :10 twist SS match barrel with rifle length gas system. Barrel is tapered. Scope mounts came with the scope (35mm). Shot on a Blackhawks bipod. Then removed bipod and shot with a range bag supporting the front.
  5. It does not have an adjustable GB
  6. Grouping at 50 was about 2-3 inches
  7. I was told to run heavier ammo since it was a 1:10 SS match barrel. it did help the accuracy a bit. Still crazy erratic. I did read that an adjustable gas block may help due to the possibility of "premature unlock". does that make any sense? Read here, http://forum.308ar.com/topic/5254-mk-3-accuracy/
  8. I only shot 1 round of steel from it. I went, 20 rounds of brass, 1 round of steel, and 300 rounds of brass.
  9. I did shoot out to 250 to a piece of steel that measured 1x2 foot. I was hitting that 7/10 on average, but that's a big target. As for mounting, a range goer remounted the scope for me putting electrical tape on the lower half of the mounts and pushing the scope forward before tightening. And, he lectured me about proper ring tightness after mounting everything.
  10. Took my LRS out to briar rabbit on my AR10. I couldn't get a decent group and neither could either of the other two "more experienced" shooters at the range even with hand loaded custom stuff. Ammo used: privi 147g, mag tech CBC 147g, custom 168g The custom stuff had a couple of side-by-siders but one of the 3 would be errant. The millett also has something stuck (debris) now on the inside of the eyepiece and I can see it turn with the adjustments.
  11. My buddy is coming in town early tomorrow and looking to buy and have a lower profile gas block installed on his AR. I have never removed and then added one so I don't think it's right to try and help him. Anyone know of a person or shop who could do this tomorrow? Thanks
  12. Hey, I think grant (gmoney) could use that 22 variety pack. That's just the type of thing he needs to find the right ammo.
  13. I would appreciate the link that you read. And will also do a search of my own. Thank you very much!!
  14. not until I get 300-400 rounds of brass down the pipe to break it in.
  15. I only got 1 round down the chamber.... after 20 brass rounds.
  16. Looks like a jag. Those eat money too. If you are buying it to give the impression that you "stepped up" you might not be getting there in that car in particular. I also think they probably cost a lot to maintain and fix. But I cannot say for sure. Given the probable cost to maintain and fix....I would take this over the Aston. http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?zip=43220&endYear=2014&showcaseOwnerId=0&startYear=1981&makeCode1=MAS&firstRecord=26&searchRadius=300&maxPrice=40000&mmt=%5BMAS%5B%5D%5B%5D%5D&minPrice=12000&listingId=351385696&listingIndex=18&Log=0
  17. I also try and check slickguns.com daily
  18. It's crazy that you posted that! I have read that article and the results. It tells me that it's much cheaper to shoot steel and replace barrels than shoot brass.
  19. J Gilbert's is good, but I cannot give them a "top 3 in the city" award. Wood fired flavor masks the taste too much for me. I think it takes away from the flavor. Now, I know I said I like Gorgonzola crust!!! My palate recognizes the broiled steak flavor underneath the cheese.
  20. This is not a dick comment coming from me. simply a question. Have you had Mitchell's Ribeye?
