its dumping fuel. if the temp sensor is bad the motor will think its really cold out and go nuts. most gm's don't throw a code for it though. I recomended changin the plugs cuase they are prolly fouled now if its been bad for awhile change the oil too its prolly also fuel fouled. I called temp sensor mostly cuase I've had the same problem with three cars recently and it was the temp sensor everytime

change the sparkplugs and replace the coolant temp sensor should fix it

slant six won't fit leans too much has to be a straight up and down motor I also have plenty of hood clearance as the motor sits low in the chassis

if your fastest car goes 12 flat you better buy some parts and start wrenching it won't even be close

if you have a stall and gears you won't even notice a small low end loss what kind of rpm are you pullin going through the traps and what rpm are you shifting at?

anyplace with a press can do that you don't have to have a machine shop. try a gas station that does serice work still they will have a press
