sounds like a bad box or a bad ground also is the coil stock? it can cause problems too if it is not compatible I couldn't find a wiring diagram for the distributor you have I would check with msd support on that one

how much do you want for the 305 and the injection?

the starter may be going bad or the switch that only lets the car start in neutral could be going bad

you can run more cam with gears and compression I wouldn't go over .550 lift on the street try to keep your lobe angle at 110 or wider for idle quality crane makes a bunch of pretty good street cams in the 100 dollar range.
