    Leases

There is no negotiation involved between a dealer and a bank. It's 10-15% lower because a dealer payoff does not include tax. Banks dont give a rats ass about negotiating because they WILL get their money. They are all insured on the residuals. Why lose money by "dealing" when they can just send it to the block and they are payed the difference with an insurance check? Penalties that come to mind include like you said, mileage overage, damage, change of driving lifestyle (ie longer drive to work), no equity accumulation etc. Obviously, leasing is not for everyone.
  3. Wasnt judging him. I just thought it was funny that he said it on national television. To answer your question...I care. Any others?
  4. Kenseth, who is a horrible road course driver, got the inside track on Petty. Petty had no idea that Kenseth basically dove right underneath him going around that turn. Kenseth basically wrecked him.

    Leases

They can probably make it seem that way, but you'll end up paying on the new car or your lease. The negotiation is with the bank, not the dealer. If you trade, just remember that the bank is going to get what was promised to them. For example, lets say your residual was 10k and you have 5 payments of 200 dollars left on your lease. If you trade it tomorrow, your payoff is 11000 bucks. Also, most banks inflate their residuals at the time of purchase. What I've been seeing lately is most cars are worth less than their residual values on the open market. Do some research before you pull the trigger on your car. You may be able to buy the same car for significantly less. Best of luck to you.
  6. This was great. I had just sat down to watch this race. TNT had Petty as their "in car" reporter while he was racing. Since he sucks anyway, I told my wife he would be out of the race within 10 laps! As it turns out, it was sooner! After the wreck, TNT thought it would be a GREAT idea to show things from Kyle's perspective...that's when I busted up laughing! Enjoy
  7. 2006 was the last year. I did a locate for you: Try Port Clinton Ford/Merc 419-734-3176 (Tungsten) Dimension Ford: 260-436-3673 (Black) Capitol City Ford 317-898-0700 (Yellow) Hope this helps.
  8. ^^^that video was dead on. Sad part is that there are some who would call it racist. That in itself is what is wrong with our immigration policy.
  9. This whole thread reminds me that that BS immigration bill is going to brought up again in the senate. Call your senator and tell them that the path to citizenship should not involve illegal entry into this country! If these people are given amnesty, we are screwed financially. The only way to deal with this problem is to secure the border and enforce laws that are already on the books. end rant/
  10. http://www.barelypolitical.com/ Almost enought make me vote for him....but not quite! This same producer did "Dick in a Box" from SNL! LOL possibly NWS.

    Will it start??

I read about this a few months ago. They actually dug it up today. Pretty interesting! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070615/ap_on_re_us/buried_belvedere

  13. I think the latest bill got shot down in the Senate. Thank God
  14. Seems to me the guy can ask whatever he wants wherever he wants FOR HIS CAR. Didnt he say he put a new AC belt and an alternator on the car? Maybe it's worth less on ohio drifting?? Are quattros easy to drift? I would think not! It's called a target demographic! I dont know either of you. I've got no personal bias either way. I just think your question is out of line.

    G T O

Do your negotiating ( if there is any) over the phone. Most dealers get pretty agressive with pricing online. You have to stand out.
  17. will they buy back that wing?
  18. A local wholesaler rode up in a 05 Competition red C6 targa today and I asked to take a spin around the block. VERY IMPRESSIVE. I'm beginning to understand the love affair with the LS1s and LS2 motors! I have never ridden in an Ls2 car before. Even though I bleed blue, I would still pimp one:)
  19. Trade it and buy a 4v?

    Pretty good first post...lol
  21. Black GT with stripe package. Those are regular 18 in premium wheels. The guy that posted them is the dude with the Kenne Bell GT 500. Sad part is that those cars will be repaired and sold with a disclaimer. In other words, he'll have to give em away.
  22. I would look to see how long they have been in business. Those smaller dealerships have to rely on word of mouth. If they sell crap, they won't be around long. Good luck.
  23. I love the ACLU's comment. "It's clear the state does not know how to execute people without torturing them to death" Ummmm, yeah.
  24. One last thought on this. All 3 Saturn Stores (West, North, Southeast) are owned by the same group. They share inventory all the time. If you like who you are working with, Al will find the car you want even if he brings it in from another store. Just an FYI
  25. Mike, I know Saturn North is closer to you being in Westerville, but I highly recommend Saturn West in Hilliard. I worked there for 2 years and sold a "few" cars for them. Have Al Clapsaddle help you out. The man is a Saturn "guru" His family has had over 40 Saturns in his day and he can answer any question you might have. Scott Bean is the GM and a great guy along with the used car mgr Jody White. (if you are trading) The Sky looks great and from what I hear, the Redline is a 13.5 second car out of the box. I'm 6'3'' though, so I dont fit very well.
