My 96 Impreza, I bought because I got a sweet deal on it. I drove it till the motor blew up, and its been on jack stands while I decide what I want to do with it. I have all the parts to finish an EG33 Flat 6 swap, so maybe I'll get a fire lit under my ass and finish it this summer. However, I still might try to sell it. I ended up stripping the interior out, with the intent of using it as a dedicated Rallycross car, but the poor condition of the car (rust) makes me worry about what I could get out of it.
My 06 Impreza could be going away soon. Because of my age, my insurance for it is nearly as much as the car payment, totaling almost $500 a month. Its not that I can't afford it, but I really like the prospect of another $500 a month in my pocket.
The Miata I have been driving a lot, as it reminds me about what I miss about my old MR2, just pure fun to drive. I also got it with the intention of Autocrossing all season, but if I get rid of the Impreza it will have to be my daily as well. Not worried though, the previous owner left it in great mechanical shape.
Truth be told though, I can't say I have emotional attachment to any of my cars. I almost seem them purely as tools. Daily, rally, and autocross.
