What happened to the last swap?
I had trouble finding a reputable JDM engine importer that I felt I could trust giving 2k to send me a complete motor and transmission.
So why this one now?
There are seemingly SVX's all over Ohio with blown transmissions, although the one I picked up runs just fine. The motor doesn't make enough power to make an SVX fast, because it weights 20 bagillion lbs and the power is going through a slushbox, but will do nicely in a GM/GC body Impreza.
How do you put it in?
Using stock EJ series mounts.
Engine management?
I want to race this season, so I won't be taking the time to figure out a Megasquirt this time. Stock ECU, with a chip from ECUTune.com to raise the rev limit to 7800. The two harnesses are going out to someone to have them merged together, arrangements already being made. It will be a plug and play deal.
Any cutting?
Radiator has to be moved forward 3 inches or replaced with a smaller one mounted like a front mount intercooler. Some people have suggested a Saab 900 radiator. This involves cutting the radiator support otherwise.

Its got a few weird electrical modifications. Apparently there is something wrong with the ignition switch, so they wired in a SPST momentary switch to start the car.

In addition, it looks like one of the coil packs went bad, so they wired in an MSD blaster on one cylinder.
