  1. LOL, I signed it, but I saw where one guy posted up about how his intercooler on his turboed SRT-4 doesn't get enough airflow for high boost because of his front plate. ROFL
  2. Is this Nate w/ the 2 door blacked out GTP? That car is insane!! Since you've gone turbo, any leftover mods that I could pick off you cheap? Well I'm going over to the dealer with the 99 GTP and I'm going to drive to talk him down quite a bit. I'm not sure why, but he's got a helluva markup it seems. Maxima - I don't really give 2 shits about gas mileage, I have a gas card through my company, so premium is FREE. smile.gif Interior possibly, and the 5spd I don't really car about trans if it's a powerful car. The 1.8t thing is a good option, but to do a turbo upgrade and get 300hp I'll be in the 3-4k range. With a GTP for about $750 or so I can be pushing the envelope of 300hp, the of course needs tranny work, but still a WHOLE lot less $$$. I've got a grand or two to play with, not $5k. Nate, what is the stock tranny good for? I want mid 13's. Also, what is the stock boost level in the GTP? What's a 3.2" pulley raise it too? Catch me on AIM if you could, BAM6i4. Matt
  3. Why a Maxima over anything else? I couldn't afford the newer ones, 00+ unless I wanted a ton of miles, and the older ones only had the 190hp V6, correct? Why chose that over a pontiac? Thanks Matt

  5. I don't like lexus, nor do I want an all out luxury cruiser like I posted above. Thanks for the idea though.
  6. What'll they do on the road, like 140+ or what? Low end power as in 40-70, 40-100, etc etc? Do you still have your GTP? Is it lightly modded or crazy? I wouldn't mind a ride in it if you don't mind. I want to see what a modded one would feel like before I set myself on it. Yeah the interior isn't the nicest and both GTP's I've looked at had condensation in the headlights. The only one I've found is a 99 w/ 65k on it for 11k. Is that a good deal or what? Know of any local for sale? Had any problems with higher miles? Thanks Matt
  7. I am actually taking a 2nd look at GTP's. I found this website...intense-racing.com and for about $900 you can get another 70whp. That'd be around 300hp and quick. I was looking over there "power packages" and I think I could save some cash, but it's good to know what is available. Big Papa, thanks for the Passat/a4 info. I thought the A4 was based on the Jetta. Well then maybe I should go take a look at the a4's now. That passat looks sweet, I'd love that for a daily. I'm just worried about all the problems the 1.8t's have, oil sludge and coil packs. What kind of track record do the GTP's have for reliability? Thanks Matt
  8. Is that it? Wow, then I guess I don't need a fast car, just one that feels fast. smile.gif
  9. The reason I stated a Passat or an Audi A6, is because they are both LARGER than my current Jetta. The A4 is on the same wheelbase as the Jetta, so therefore it wouldn't get me anymore room where I need it. I wouldn't mind a GTP, but I drove a 01 GTX at Dan Tobin yesterday, and...it was slow, didn't seem much quicker than my Jetta although they claim 80 more HP. The weight kills them, 35xxlbs. No Lexus for me, I'm also thinking about a BMW 540, V8 power, so we'll see. Nick, I'd love an 850R, but you know how hard they are to come by? Needle in a haystack.... Saab's are cool, they take a bit to boost at stock levels, but modded ones are badass, plus they are cheaper than Volvo's. Honestly I can't find a volvo in my price range with under 120k miles, it's rediculous. Thanks for the thoughts guys, I'm in no rush to buy something so I'm taking my time finding the best suited car. Matt

    C43 AMG

Weird. I actually test drove a 99 C34 AMG today at Jack Maxton used cars. It's silver w/ 80k on it, they are asking 17k. OMG did that thing scoot, it was soo fucking beautiful! Yeah if I wasn't scared about maintence, I would've bought it right then and there.
  11. Derek, Just for thought, My jetta currently has 32.5 inches of rear seat room, and an SVTC has 25inches, LOL. See #3 on my list...
  12. Ha, thanks derek, an SVTC would be nice, BUT, I need it to be BIGGER than my Jetta in rear seat, and after making this post, I think I really want a stock turbo or SC'd car. NOS50- This is going to be a family car, but also my fun car on the weekends, so no full out luxury cruisers, I need it to handle decently. Matt
  13. I've gathered up a list, driven quite a few of the cars and still have some to drive yet. As in the title, my 3 main things are: 1) $10g price tag, or less. 2) At least 225hp NA, or a turboed car that can attain 225hp semi-easily. 3) A four door car with 33+ inches of rear seat room. Nothing older than 96, miles under 85k. Cars I've driven. GTP, Passat 1.8t, Nissan Maxima. Cars I'm thinking about as well - Accord, Audi A6, Volvo 850/S60, Saab 9-3/9-5's. What can you add to the list? Thanks Matt
  14. I think I saw this car yesterday in hillard. Do you live like across the street from the HS or right off of Davidson rd, or whatever it's called? I saw a cark almost identical to this in a driveway, looked good from the street if it's you.
  15. Kind of important, but not if it's UBER cheap. What you got?
  16. Looking for near stock or small 'free' mods, manual and in good running condition. Body doesn't really matter to me. Looking to spend no more than $1500. Matt
  17. Ouch, a bit steep for me. Most I'll go is $350, let me know if you change your mind.
  18. $300 w/ the ring for my mk4 jetta. Cash tomorrow. Call my cell Matt 614-595-5536, after 10am, i like sleeping in on my day's off. lol \
  19. My wife is bearing our first child....but how could I turn down free beer? Tell me where & when and I'm there! lol, oh man would she hurt me if i did that. Sorry, good luck though
  20. I was behind Dr. ZO6 in his black vette last nite on 71N about 9:15 or 9:30, you were moving pretty steadily. lol, looked badass
  21. I'm looking to purchase an old 5.0 and after talking with a few people I get mixed opinions. I would like to know your take on these cars and how they hold up. Also, which model is the lightest/best for performance? What do these cars run in stock trim? Lastly, anyone got one for sale for around $3g's?
  22. 2004 Toyota Matrix, definitely not something powerful, but she loves it. And it gets great gas mileage to boot! 30mpg city, 38 freeway. We actually just bought it last weekend. It's her first manual and she already loves it, me too as it was cheap and should be reliable being a toyota.
  23. is that 5x100 per chance? if so I'm interested. What's the offset? My cell is 614-595-5536, call me tomorrow or friday after 5:3o Thanks matt
