  1. For the record the Fed lowering the discount rate does not directly effect mortgage rates. The discount rate is a short term rate vs long term for mortgages. Mortgages generally trend in the same direction but not in a 1/1 ratio and not immediately.
  2. Nice -

I just got the most recent issue of Motor Trend and I am confused on the performance of this car. Per Nissan, it is faster than a C6 ZO6 at the Nurburgring. I know that braking and cornering are a huge part of the time but the ZO6 is certainly no slouch in the corners or braking. How does a car that weighs 900 pounds more than the ZO6 beat the ZO6 with 25 less horsepower. I am sure the power curve is better in the ZO6 as well - N/A horsepower. I think either Nissan is overestimating the abilities of this car or are understating the horspower.

  3. It was a good game. Michigan played the defense we didn't for some unknown reason. Move the safeties up and blitz the hell out of them. If they are going to beat you make them throw it down the field. It was brutal watching Leak throw those freakin dink and dunk passes all night. I wonder if Michigan scouted that game - lol.
  4. The Jags are good I just cannot see Garrard as a serious threat to Brady or Manning. The NFC is fighting for the right to lose in the Super Bowl to the AFC representative.

I am not sold on Tomlin - the Steelers have been all over the place this year. I think they will pull together for a playoff game. I think they will knock Jacksonville out and proceed to get punched in the face by the Patriots......again.

  5. And lastly. This one will affect many of you.

Anything 9.99 and quicker will be required to have a full face helmet. I know many of you door car guys run the open face with a visor style.

Well I got the helmet thing covered - now I just need the car.

  6. there is a bulletin for the issue. i have done alot of them at work.

Thanks man. Now I just have to decide whether to do it myself or not. It was not too bad on my car seeing as I threw out all of the pollution control items - might be a little more difficult with this one. However, there sure will be a lot more room to work!

  7. I didn't mean that they did it on purpose. I thought maybe when they installed the new cat it was not installed properly and is leaking.

On this motor the intake is dry so if it was leaking I don't think there would be evidence of it - that is why I cannot see how they indicated it was leaking. They could not tell me how they knew that was the problem eother - just going by the code it threw.

  8. I have an 02 Suburban with the 5.3 Liter motor. When it is cold the truck runs rough and throws a p0171 and P0174 (lean condition in both banks). It is also throwing a P0300 (random misfire) code. I just had it to the dealership to have a cat replaced. They replaced it under warranty but then went on to say the intake gaskets were leaking and wanted to charge me 500 to replace them. I have had my T/A's LS1 apart a few times so if that is what it trukly is I could do that myself. I am suspicious though that this problem was not there before and suddenly "appears" after warranty work. Could the dealership do anything that would throw this code? From what I understand this could be caused by an intake leak, an exhaust leak, or a bad fuel filter. Is there anything easy to check or do I just need to get it to somebody to look at? Unfortunately I don't have a mechanic I trust right now. Come on Rutan!
  9. My friend's dad had an 8 series in the late 90s and had nothing but trouble with it. Every time it broke it also cost a fortune to fix

Kind of what I figured. And I am suire there would be a "V12 tax" in addition to the "BMW tax".
