  1. It puts your car's horn to use, a lot of people like that aspect of it.

Seriously I think it is for the reasons stated above. Simply not as hard on parts.

Also, it is not "cool" to talk about your suspension mods which are required if you want to actually launch with a lot of power. It is more fun to talk about the power you have added.

  2. depends whats leaking and how bad, but most likely i would just fix it. especially if its a popular, newer, american car where every part imaginable is readily available at autozone, jegs, etc.

I don't think there is anything left on his car stock - it is an aftermarket rear end.

Bring it man - it is a good time!

  3. Fuck yes, called it. The constant references to "we" and "our" Montes, Novas and S10s pretty much give it away.

Thank God it is the same person and not another person with the same obsessions!

  4. I got your break in miles, if you are scared of twisties...Honestly, get it broken in, then we will see if fbodies can turn. :)

The solid rear axle doesn't like bumps in the middle of turns but other than that handling is not a "weakness" on these cars. I need to get my fenders rolled before I can attack corners like I want to. I am afraid i will shred one of my rear tires. The 315s barely fit.

Now shitty rearends and twisting rear quarters without subframe connectors - you have something there

  5. I would have loved to come out but I was under my car all freaking day. I should have listened to several others when they said just "pay the man" when it came time for a new clutch.

But no, I wanted to do it. Wasn't terrible but 2 things I learned:

    1) The T56 is one heavy mutha

    2) Get the clutch alignment tool if the clutch dos not come with it. We were stubborn and went without. We used the input shaft on the tranny to line it up. Did I mention the T56 is fawking heavy!

Now I have 400 break-in miles then it is on!

  6. I'm boycotting until people actually set up a meet and show up out west. Gas costs to much for me to keep making these trips every weekend..... especially with this rear end leak.

Did you just take your ball and go home....

  7. If that is the case what could a decent rebuild on a 10 bolt handle? Mine makes alot of noise now, but yet I am just very basic bolt ons. I am not ready to drop 3500 on a 1000hp rear end, i would like to just freshen up mine untill this car is no longer my dd. That and i am in a auto, I would imagine i could roll race all day long with much more hp if i had a decent 10 bolt, but is it worth it.

Ask John (RUTAN TA) he is the board expert on breaking GM 10 bolts
