Or you just man up, stop being a bitch and jam your hand in there with a lighter. :fuckyeah:

It's a match holder. You paid $25 too much for that.
  3. I'm still rockin a 4s that work provided, though the battery has gone to shit so I hope they'll let me upgrade to a 6 soon. If not, I'll keep the 4s until it dies.
  4. I've had very good success with used synthetic motor oil. I should put it to the test and see how well it performs vs the atf mixture.
  5. He'd Just faint if she asked him. :lolguy:
  6. Old news, this place isn't too far from the mall of America.
  7. I've driven it 45 miles this weekend so I guess it could but I've never taken it on a multi-hour trip. I would guess if someone came all the way here to look at it, they'd bring a truck and just haul it home. That's what I did when I bought it.
  8. Ok, I think I found out the bikes issue. I fiddled with the choke cable and ended up disconnecting it since it's frayed and seized. With the choke cable disconnected, the bike tried to idle so low it kept stalling. I cranked the idle screw in a few turns and so far it's idling well. My guess is the choke cable was screwed up not letting the choke circuit close thus raising the idle. The previous owner tried to lower the idle by cranking out the idle screw. I tried to use a rebel 250 choke cable but I don't think it has enough travel, or the bracketry isn't allowing the choke to seat right so i disconnected it as well. So far it's back to running pretty darn good!
  9. If you are willing to let it go to me, let me know how much. I'm just looking for lower cost, hobby shops are crazy anymore. They want to sell giant packages and I don't need/want all that crap.
  10. If anyone is up this way and wants to unload HO stuff let me know. Or I can pay to ship it, my son loves trains and I've given him all my stuff but more never hurts.
  11. Ok, I seriously laughed like a tard at this one. Even the wife loved it!
  12. I think there's probably a chunk of rust in the bowl. Sometimes it idles perfect, others it won't idle for crap. I need to tear it apart and clean them out but I'm afraid to. I have the patience of an angry gorilla and when I work on stuff it usually ends up at a shop in a mangled pile of pieces with hammer marks for some odd reason. Edit: if it doesn't sell by winter, I'll probably go ahead and tear into it.

Will need tires soon as well. I don't need to sell it but I'm looking to upgrade so if it sells, great. If it doesn't, I'll keep riding it. Has a small dent on the tank from the previous owner and the chrome isn't perfect but what do you expect for a bike over 25 years old with 15k miles. It's definitely not a show bike so don't come expecting perfection or you will be disappointed. If you want a good base to build from or a nice learner bike that has highway power, this is it. I've added new led turn signals front and rear, electronic flasher, led dash lights, led headlight, led tail lights and new grips. I also have an extra rear fender, original bulbs, plus some other things that will go with it like new filters and such. I was planning on chopping the extra fender to make it more of a bobber but haven't bothered. CR only price $1000

  15. This. I've been trying to get some excavation work done in my back yard. I called nearly 30 companies, TWO returned my call one of the two told me he wouldn't bother and the one that did bother game me excuse after excuse on why he couldn't come out to do the work. Now I see why the rental places are booming. People get fed up and try to do it themselves. Last year I wanted to add a bathroom in the basement. Same thing, of the dozen plus places I called, one showed up to give an estimate. After I showed them the area, they said they'd get back in touch with their estimate. They never called back. Earlier this year I wanted to upgrade the electrical service to my garage. Same story as above, one showed up. Thankfully they gave their quote before they left but the price was so high that I questioned it before they walked away. The guy said that they were so busy, that's what it would take for them to "bother with such a small job". I may be in the wrong line of work. Apparently it's ok around here to treat people like shit because no matter what you remain too busy.

I think I'm just gonna keep going with it till it dies. The main problem with the carbs are the rubber pistons. Not uncommon for them to work ok but be weak, then they tear when you disassemble. As for the carb link, I'll pass $210 is 1/3 of what I paid for the whole bike. Not worth it. I'll just keep tweaking and making it my own. It was cheap enough that if I get a year out of it, it was worth it. Which at this point I nearly have already. I think I'm gonna go ahead and bob it though. We'll see what the winter brings.

Simple o rings and jets are not an issue. Look at that list and you'll see many of the important parts are not listed because they have been long discontinued.
  18. Those are my favorite cars ever. I'd love a NEW turbovan, something along the lines of a T-Type or other similar "sleepermobile from hell". I remember reading a story about a guy that built an old Buick Wagon with a turbo C5R race motor and had it in the 7's or something. He'd turn the boost down and his wife drove it around and to get groceries, then he'd roll into the track, light the wick and let the bitch eat!
  19. I used to live off of Woodlawn in Charlotte, don't recall seeing any big ones when I was down there either.
  20. I'd prefer new, if I wanted a project I'd have kept my camaro.
  21. There are some online sites that will run a quick vin check against the stolen database. That's a good place to start, but going to the PD for a thorough check is best. Edit: that's good to know about VT though, I passed on a couple old bikes because there were no titles. I may have to revisit that.

Yeah. I'm a little disappointed but it's probably how I ended up with it. Kid I got it from wanted to fix it up but never passed his test. I'm guessing now he flat gave up since he couldn't find parts.
