.40 is to snappy get the .45 if it's your first handgun then get a 9mm so you can afford to shoot it. The best round in the world doesn't mean shit if it can't hit it's target. now if you can afford to shoot the more expensive round then more power to ya. i have already shot 3000+ rounds this year and i havn't been shooting that much at all. oh and don't waste to much time on paper targets practive timing yourself on multiple steel plate, especially if your going to ccw.

if it is shooting low the gun comes with 3 different height front sights.

Finally someone on here buys something other then a glock/M&P/XD. Very nice choice glad to see you got the Gen1 i think they are a lot prettier. i love my P99. which trigger did you get? DA/SA, QA or DAO? You will get used to the mag release pretty quick and it will make a lot more sense when your doing speed reloading and bringing it into your chest.

FYI 500 rounds of .22 cci blazer is $13 from what i've tested it is the most accurate (out of my guns) for the best price.

870 for sure pistol is more a personal preference depends what you like and what your able to use comfortably. i have a sub compact XD 9mm for sale if your interested. and it's already broken in for ya As stated above shoot and handle as many as possible to find what you really like.

shoot it before you buy it, i hate the trigger. sold it after 200 rounds. i love my LCP though. LCP + crimson trace + take the stitches out of the blackhawk size one pocket holster = WIN

STI 2011 9mm - don't own one YET but hear good things magnum research jericho 941 based baby eagle - my favorite to shoot walther p99 - my favorite to carry i also have an xd which shoots real good but does nothing for me other then the fact i can throw it around and not care.

there are several types of baby eagle. i love my Jericho 941 based baby eagle. there is a poly baby eagle not sure what it's based on. not sure on price for this one but i wasn't impressed when i shot it comparred to mine. then came the P99 based baby eagle which is also poly. which is better then the SW99 but not as good as the Walther $550ish which one is it?
