help me theory craft. need to build a replacement desktop for mom. her old one is finally outdated enough that its not usable anymore. she has a good hard drive and power supply. this is on the cheap. the most she does is facebook, flash games, and watch videos online. (some work stuff but nothing to taxing) soo i was poking around saw microcenter has the AMD FX 6300 Black Edition's for 90 bucks. although what do you think about the 3.9 ghz dual core 6400k black?? its literally half the price of the 6 core. although i cant remember the last time i ran a dual core in anything. with the bundle discount i can get a ASUS M5A97 R 2.0 mobo for like 40 bucks. pick up 8 gigs of http://www.microcenter.com/product/382101/Ballistix_Sport_8GB_DDR3-1600_PC3-12800_CL9_Dual_Channel_Desktop_Memory_Kit_Two_4GB_Memory_Modules]Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3-1600 for 78 bucks. (is it just me or is ram expensive?) then going uber cheap on the graphics with a PNY GeForce GT 610. it does run a gig of 64 bit ddr3. for 50 bucks. prolly end up buying a Thermaltake Versa H22 Special Edition to build it into. i have the v3 and was going to just get another one of those although i really like this one for the same price, and its a "special edition"! woooow. :-p soo what do ya think? all in all i have about 320 in everything.

ok i dont get these boxes. i mean i can subscribe to netflix hulu etc etc etc on my own. why the heck do i need a box?

who cares? thats just that much more ammo for the smart ones. :-)

i need to get over there and look a little closer at the factory fit. also i cant leave well enough alone. i noticed tire rack has a 15 inch steelie now. they didnt when i was first looking. soooo now i looking at the Pirelli Winter Carving Edge in 195/55/15 edit: well shit they sold out already tires till 12/31 and wheels till 12/01

well she has decided to go with the 16 inch steelies and tires. thankfully. prolly going to end up with the Yokohama iceGUARD iG20 as they are about all i can find in the ford recommended 195/50/16. the 50 series tires in 16's for snow are hard to find. has anyone had any experience in these tires?

haha yea there is that its about a 2hr drive for me to check it out so still going over other options. i may come down to check it out then if its not in good condition just go over to vances. they have em for like 150 more but its the best price for new i have found so far. the link may have gotten removed. i dont know if it was against the rules to post it or not so i wont repost.

anyone have any reservations on it? the "buy here sell here" pawn on w broad st down there has a handgun i looking for at a good price. how worried should i be that it could come back stolen etc etc? i know its kind of a general question but just looking for some input.

yea i gave her the options. i thinking she going to go with factory size snow tires on the factory rims. even though she is going to have to pay to have em swapped each year, and take a chance of a tps or three breaking. or getting a bad balance. i was playing around with different sizes due to the fact that in say, the 195/50/16's (for steel rims) choices seem very limited. although the yoko's tire rack carries do seem to be a good tire. they have enough experience in rally anyway. i had been using a tire calculator to check things. also going by what others have run from lurking on some sites. i was wondering though with all the tech built into cars today how much a tire size change would effect the esc. like you commented on trouble. Turbo what company are you thru? we are up in lima, not down in the columbus area. i havent looked into the hankooks to much. i always have liked their tires for summer. had not even thought of them for winter. thanks for the input all. also as far as changing tune for a lower boost and such. she actually drove the car with the summer tires last year. that thing would get stuck on flat ground compacted snow. much less any incline or deeper snow. the tires just are not anywhere near competent in the snow.

have to be 16's to clear the brakes. checking on tires for the other size you mentioned. i do know of someone from a st forum running 215/55/16's

my sister has a '14 st. looking for winter tires. either using 16'' steelies or the factory rims and size. going with a 16x6.5 steelie would a tire size of 205/55/16 work well for a winter tire? the factory are 17's at 205/40/17. would love more input from the tire guys.

i am glad the law is there to allow it. doesn't mean you need to walk into your local pizza shop with a shotgun slung over your shoulder. i carry a lightweight handgun every day. heck, on long days that can get a bit tiresome. i can't imagine the weight with a long gun all day. also i wouldn't be surprised that some of these open carry activists you see in the news are not really anti-gunners causing panic to help their cause. yea yea call me crazy.

you cant really name any manufacture that hasn't had issues with different vehicles or tech over the years. hey, at least the fords make it from production to the show room. :whistle: i have had a issue with a 2014 v6 stang. the stability control acts up at times. seems it thinks wheels are spinning when they are not. did it twice on the same stretch of road.

yea thats the first thing i thought when i saw it. they list pretty much every class of personal firearm. kind of a "umm really" kinda article.

i had to go to court for a 84 in a 55 on 309 a lil south of kenton. heading to columbus. the cop that pulled me over was rather cool. i didnt fight it in court. judge asked me why i was going so fast. i answered cause i was stupid. the judge laughed and everyone in the court room. then he said no really. i told him that i had passed a semi a lil while back.. he finished my sentence for me... and you just didnt slow down. i said yea. i ended up with no points (if i remember right) and came out of it pretty cheap too. guess if you can make the judge laugh. he was actually a pretty cool judge. dont remember his name. was prolly back in 01-02.
