my buddy has an alero(same body style) and he just hit a curb and snapped the steering knuckle being its made from aluminum. so when looking at your car you have only a few things that could be messed up. the strut-where it pinches around the knuckle make sure it looks straight, pull off your other wheel to compare it will help the knuckle- it wont bend being aluminum it will just break so you coul probably assume its ok the control arm- thin metal most likely culprit the frame- make sure you look at where the control arm bolts to the frame and make sure nothings bent/damaged there.

we had one in the shop that blew the stock motor at 61k and then blew up a jasper motor about 20k later...

yeah its a 98 lx 1.6 no vtec 5spd

its electronic. I replaced the sensor ($120)worked fine for 20 miles then stopped working again. thats why I'm wondering if there is anything else other than the speedo itself that could be bad.

Is there any other items/sensors that effect the speedometer other than the vehicle speed sensor and the speedometer itself. Also what are the legalities on switchign a speedo out with different mileage?

well I edited the title after about 30 mins and thinking about it.. I said to my self, no I wouldnt drive a shit bag civic, then I edited my post, it didnt take effect on the main page just in here.lol..look up top

thats why I said check the fuse panel first,the grand am/malibu/alero bodystyles were known for that button

one of two ways, first open your driver's door and look at the dash there should be a panel labeled "fuse" there pull it off and look amongst the fuses for a red "reset" or "oil" button, with the key on, push in an hold, you should see the light flash and then hear a ding from the speaker. if there is no button then turn the key on and hit the gas pedal to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds and that should do it. All this is usually in the owners manual also.
