From my post in the other Draft thread: Its not "liberal bullshit". If you think bringing freedom to a people who wont stand up and demand freedom for themselves, is worth your life... then so be it, who am I to tell you what your life is worth. And who are you to tell me what is or isnt a just cause to lay down my life. The power worship that you and so many other americans exhibit not only perpetuates a militaristic society, it has the added bonus of suppressing inquisition from those who would dare to oppose. All of you who lash out at those who have a different perspective should step back and see if you may just be a tool in a system that is dependant on your blind faith in the power structure.

Um... Bush just claimed that his administration "Created" 100,000 jobs last quarter. You are taking the term too literally. Its much more complicated that you are interpreting it as. Bush claims to have and Kerry intends to create an environment, by using gonvernment incentives and policy, that creates demand for more workers. This is done in a million different ways. Roosevelt did it in the most literal sense with his Works Progress Administration, which employed over 4 million people in 1935. His Public Works Administration established in 1933, the Civilian Works Administration, the Civilian Conservation Corps, and the National Youth Administration all created government sponsored jobs. Milton Friedman, an economist, claims that these programs actually kill more jobs in the private sector than they create on the whole. oops. Other ways include incentives to business startups or even big business: tax breaks, grants, subsidizations, tariff adjustments, etc. This is the much more common modern way of "Creating" jobs. Basicly Kerry promises to restimulate the economy. Will he do it, I sure dont know. /ib4YoureTheBiggestDorkEver

I need to make sure that the intoxicating plume of smoke bellowing out of my tail pipe is indeed my cylinder which has 40psi less compression. The oil test confimed, the evidence confirms, but I want to make sure before I pull this thing apart again. Does anyone have a leak down tester I could borrow for a day. And IPS, since I talked to you guys bout it already, what would you charge if my search was unlucky.

I seriously hope this whole post is tounge and cheek. That is Ridiculous. +1

im a pretty liberal mother sucker but this article is grossly misleading. There is in fact a position search due to the simple fact that many of those in these positions now are retiring. There is also a bill thats been stuck in congress that would require mandatory military service. That too wont pass. Those who saw Vietnam first hand will not let their sons be used in yet another conflict that is falsely branded under the preached "imminent threat" label. Before against communism, now against "terrorism".

She was in maxim a few months back. She's in "24" also. Im not a stalker. I actually dont like the chick that much. Pretty cookie cutter to me.
-
I figured it wasnt bout the club... Was it zerocignal? aka a dude from lima or marysville?
-
thats pretty. What was the columbusdsm Mess you speak of?
-
You mean my roomate. I saw you guys parked by the staging lanes. I didnt run, but I was driving my DSM.
-
norwalk is definitley my prefered track. Im a cleveland native so its easy to stay at my parents home when I venture up there I actually just got a studder box chipped in. Leaving the line at MCIR at 5.5k with 13 psi wouldnt have done much.
-
funny story. I forgot the directions as I was in a rush to leave my office. I vaguely remembered the roomate mentioning that the exit was just past honda, and I thought I had read it was 42 or 47. So I passed the honda plant, went to the next exit then the next until I got to Fn Mad river mountain. If there were a gas station within 30 miles of that god forsaken area, I sure didnt know about it. So I turned back to marysville, went to a gas station. I must have found the only gay (not that there is anything wrong with that) gas station attendant in the entire state. Of course he didnt know where it was but was able to direct me to marion. So I traveled down rt 4 forever, Im a city boy so the lack of civilization on top of the fact that I was 2 hours late was more than I could stand. So finally after almost 15 miles I found a gas station. Some lil ol lady 5 customers back in line knew where it was. Little known fact, Marion County Itnl Raceway is not in Marion. I back tracked another 10 miles found 37 and made it there 25 minutes later. So It took ME... 2.5 hours to get there because im retarded. My roomate made it there in an hour.
-
The roomate ran 12.6 @ 113 starting with an AWD Burnout. When you have AWD and the best 60' you can muster is 2.0 when your normal is 1.7x, there's a problem. I dont know if Id go back, it took forever to get there, the prep left a lot to be desired, and my lil asian friend definitely heard a few racial slurs under the breaths of some country fuckers before I got there. Guess it depends on how desperate I get.
-
ill probably see you there. Looks like im going but not racing. My roomate will be running. We have an agreement (Since we drive DSMs) that one of us runs and the other doenst in case the other breaks/blows up. I think a few of us DSM kids will be there
-
Ill just have to hide my rear "mounted" battery then.
-
Id be willing to bet its because he has a big v8 and we only have baby 4s. Thats usually the mentality of the tech dudes. A guy asked me what the helmet was for at NTR one time. I told him I run 12s. He looked skeptical to say the least.
-
Im considering going tomorrow. My car wouldnt pass tech at NTR or Norwalk having a trunk mounted battery. So, Hows the tech Hows the track prep Is it worth it.
-
you should put anti-sieze on the range that you expect you might use. A day before adjustment start spraying it down with some PB blaster. I havent had problems moving mine yet. To bad they provide the worst ride ever. (Skunk2)

Definitely throw the AZ gasket away. Dennis has then for 38 bucks with the "Club DSM" discount. I use copper seal on mine even though its a composite gasket just out of habit. You dont really need that unless you use a mitu 4 layer. Those are the only 2 gaskets you should be considering. Jegs has the ARP head studs for $78. Thats the cheapest price. They are well worth it for the peace of mind factor.

Your block can be used as the only [major] difference being that it doesnt have oil squirters. If you are going to be using cast pistons [you shouldnt use your higher comression NT ones] you should look into getting a turbo block. You will need to drill a knock sensor if you keep it. You need injectors and a new fuel pump. A turbo ECU and Harness, Turbo cams... the rest of the head is the same. An exhaust manifold, a 14b or better, intercooler and piping, a down pipe and might as well replace the exhaust while your at it. I dont recall if the NTs used a weaker tranny. You should look into that. All in all, you could get a 1g Turbo AWD for the cost you are about to spend. If youre stubborn and have your heart invested in doing it the hard way... Take it to IPS and save yourself one hell of a headache.

make sure you tell the machine shop that you will be using it for a nitrous aplication. You will probably have to bore it a bit as well, and obviously hone it with the new rings and all.
-
Its done... done before I usually wake up on sundays, in fact. Rolla (RidenRed) did it quick and for a great price to help the poor college girl out. Big thanks to him for the help. Id recommed his services to anyone else in a jam.
-
if nobody had offered i woulda thrown the pic up for motivation. Rolla (ridenred) Is going to do it and his help is appreciated.

I have a female friend who needs her rear rotors and pads replaced on her 02' jetta. I live on campus and theres no way im doing it in this 2' weather. Shes willing to get the parts at the zone she just needs the labor. Got a garage and nothing to do on superbowl sunday? Need some extra cash... PM me or make a post. Thanks
-
all done now, Thanks anyway.

If someone has a ball hone I could borrow (300-400 grit, ~85mm/3.3in), that wuold be more than helpfull. I would only need it for a day as the block is in the car and ready for rings. Or if some one knows where one can buy a high grit one locally that'd help too.
