  1. its your fuel mang its got a nasty hole thats why your unloading in third, i'd lengthen the injector pulse and tune the nos timer and youll run 9s
  2. DO tap a coolant line. nuf said.
  3. You’re not taking into account the lack of initial pressure. Lets say there is vacuum between the Turbo and the TB, if you increase the gross volume of the piping it is going to take more pressure/air and therefore time to fill up the increased volume to fill it to X psi. Now there isnt a vacuum there but thats the gist of it.
  4. Thanks for all the info... Ill pass this along to him and let everyone know what he decides to go with. Are there any national forums dedicated to the corvette that I can read up on?
  5. a vette with a single turbo wankel would be hot. But I dont think the domestic kids would be too happy bout it.
  6. it will definitely be nice to work on a domestic for a change. Cramped engine bays make me sad.
  7. If he was to go through with a motor swap... what would he go with?
  8. So my uncle has a stock 1981 Corvette, aka ultra slow. Its an automatic and he thinks its the 350 motor. He wants to modify it but knows little about the process. So Im gathering some info for him. What mod will net him the greatest per dollar gain. He has a buddy who is doing a motor swap in his vette so the uncle is thinking that is the way he wants to go as well. Also, a referral to a good shop in Cleveland would be helpful too.
  9. I have an extra 2g smic you can have for like $20.... and an extra t-25 for that matter, if the current ebay buyer doesnt come through.
  10. Do not even consider a dry shot if you have reliability concerns. This method adds the gas at the Throttle body and relies on the ECU to adjust fuel and timing, the delay is what gets ya plus the fact that equal distribution among the cylinders is not going to happen. A direct port will add a proportionate amt of fuel with the N20 to keep things safer. Its more expensive though. I wouldnt think of using N2O w/o race gas in my 4 banger.
  11. this may be a stupid question, but have you tried to pressureize the lines at one end to find out where this leak is....aka a boost leak test. Im not sure how that would work on a 2 turbo system but there must be some way to throw some compressed air in there.
  12. Son, you better brush up on your.... History of the DSM the 420a was still contractually involved in the joint mitsu/chrysler venture.
  13. dont know if you are familiar with the dsm retailers, im new here. : www.buschurracing.com www.roadraceengineering.com www.slowboyracing.com www.dejontool.com (localish) www.extrememotorsports.com Non Commercial: www.dsmtrader.com
  14. I am in the same boat. After my engine swap I realized it was from an automatic....smaller cams and injectors...and turbo. The lift difference between the auto/mt cams is significant. It is definitely something you should do. My problem is finding someone to do it. Ill take on any project, but when it deals with timing issues Ill pay the extra cash for the confidence in quality. Let me know if you find someone who competently can handle the task, Im hoping the change puts me in the 12s.
