REAL Final Norwalk details for May 11th, 2007
CobraKevin replied to MrMeanGreen's topic in CR Track Days
So only Slicks and DR's will be allowed in one of the lanes? Meaning two cars on street tires won't be able to race? -Kevin -

I'll check the prices at Sam's tomorrow. Tire rack is probably gonna be the way to go though imo. -Kevin

I'm a professional tenor, photographer, filmmaker, actor, and I'm also dead. I'm badass. -Kevin
-
I could probably do them at Sam's. I've dismounted and mounted tires on my Cobra before with no issues. I should be able to take care of it for ya. You need them put back on the car or just tires put on wheels? -Kevin

Summary: A young, on-the-rise prosecutor Willy Beachum (Ryan Gosling) is about to seal the deal with a big-name attorney's office, with his mighty impressive 97% conviction rate propping him up. Not interested in potentially ruining his chances, he initially declines an attempted murder case that lands on his desk two weeks prior to the transition. However, given the nature of the case in that the murder weapon was obtained and the defendant Ted Crawford (Anthony Hopkins) had already signed his confession, Willy figures another win on his record wouldn't hurt. Unfortunately, new information and evidence constantly beats on Beachum's case, making it extremely difficult to close it out. As Crawford continues to dodge incriminating accusations and hide behind the wall of innocent-until-proven-guilty, he attempts to push Willy to his breaking point and escape with a clean slate in this potentially devastating game of cat-and-mouse. Pros: Extremely enticing storyline, the battle of wits between Hopkins and Gosling keeps the audience intrigued, and a few twists here and there ensures a thrilling experience. Cons: The pace is a bit slower than the trailer leads on, and the fact that every turn makes you think an obviously-guilty man could get off scott free might piss you off. Conclusion: 4.0/5.0. If the pace of the film would have been sped up just a tad, maybe involving slightly more evidence, confrontations and twists, I would've scored it higher. Regardless, easily in the Top 10 best films so far this year. -Kevin

Way to spoil it for people, fag. JEEZ! I'll be putting up a movie review on Fracture tonight. It was definitely a better spenditure of $7.00 than Vacancy as far as "good" movies go. -Kevin
-
Yeah, it was decent. Worth the watch, but the ending was sorta anti-climatic. I should start doing movie reviews like I used to. -Kevin

Just curious, but are there any plans as far as a cruise is concerned? Are we gonna meet up somewhere before-hand (like I remember doing that last time I did this a few years back) and drive down together and what not? -Kevin

Paid last night, just forgot to post. -Kevin

How have the previous events been as far as getting everyone in? I'd like to be there on the 28th, but I probably won't be out of work 'till around 7:30. You say you're running until 10 p.m., but will it be backed up to the point where getting there around 8 won't get me in? -Kevin
-
I currently make around $10.50. Not sure what NTB starts out at or what their pay raises are like. I only have experience with tires and batteries, though. No oil changes, brakes, or suspension work. I might be interested though. -Kevin

Both links take me to the same $54.00 payment screen thing. If it's supposed to say $54.00 rather than $21, that's fine. I just don't want to be charged the total of $80+. If you could confirm or double check the links, I'd appreciate it. -Kevin

Well, it's gonna kinda suck not having someone to race against. But then again, if it was originally intended to have one lane for slicks/DR's and the other for DR's/street tires, I wouldn't be winning any heads up races anyways. I'd be up for frontin the extra $20. -Kevin

Hmmm...damn it's been a while. I wasn't a founding member, but CR wasn't around too long before I came on board. Ran into Kyle (Silver FD) on another forum and he told me about CR, so I joined up. I started at 16 with an '02 Mustang GT (Yellow, stock), pushing carts at Sam's Club. Then I got ahold of my bro's '01 SVT Cobra (Red, bolt-ons) and ran into Sam (Red C5 at the time) in the Sam's parking lot. We hit it off and raced that night from a roll (dead even, he didn't have spray at the time). Took that Cobra down to the abandoned airport 1/8 mile track and had a good time there. Then I picked up my '03 SVT Cobra (Blue, bolt-ons) and raced Kyle (Silver FD) from a roll the very first night I had it and got spanked. From then on, I was racing anyone and everyone, most of whom ended up being faster than me. Brian Turner in his TT 5.0, Kyle numerous times, Mike and his turbo'd C5, Jake in his 560+ RWHP Supra, and a few others that whooped my ass. Many of those videos made their way across the intraweb, so I guess I gained some popularity (for better or worse). I raced my way to #1 on the Open Comp (Beat Kyle due to a busted tranny and took Cold Air from a roll for the #1 spot). It seemed I was regarded as one of the few sub-18-year-olds who could reliably handle 500+ hp. I also met Kurt Bondurant (blue '03 Cobra) who was starting a Cobra club here and I met good ol' John Tilley and his extremely attractive significant other Jessica, along with a couple other '03 Cobras up at Polaris. We had a nice 5-way '03 Cobra cruise on 270, in which afterward John and I pulled over and chatted for a bit. Very cool guy. Later on, I went to a CR-rents-Norwalk event and bested a 12.04@118.04 on Nitto DR's in the midst of 15 hot laps (!!!). Man, it would've been nice to see 11's. Unfortunately, a buddy convinced me to pick up World of Warcraft and that literally consumed my life for a solid two years, hence why I basically disappeared off the face of the Earth. I moved my way into the tire shop at Sam's, where I currently work, and was just caught in this slow, steady, shitty place in life - huge car payment, below average wages, and nothing to do in my spare time other than play one game and one game only. My social life became almost non-existant outside of the virtual world, and the moment I hit 21 and saw where I was still at in life, something just hit me and I knew I needed to make a change. I cancelled my WoW account (though it doesn't actually expire until June) and I traded in the Cobra which along with a helpful down payment from my mom due to the sale of my grandma's house, I got myself into an '07 Mazdaspeed 3 for a 60-month payment that is less than half what the Cobra was. It's obviously not the kind of straight-line performer that the Cobra was, but it's got a great suspension, plenty of room for 5 people (rather than cramped for 4), still a bit of pep in its step, and quite a bit of potential with a little bit of cash (that is, once the aftermarket picks up on them). I'm still workin tires at Sam's, but am semi-actively pursuing other job openings. Gonna put my resume on Monster soon and try to get my career moving now that I have enough time and money to continue college. I'm working on a degree in Finance, though I'm not far along. I hope I can keep pushing myself to make smarter decisions to prep for the future, 'cause my drive has always been my biggest malefactor (but my driving is badass). -Kevin

No point to the video whatsoever...but there are definitely some women in that video that just don't exist.

Holy fuck! A lot of those I've seen already, but damn there were some amazing and incredible scary events in that one. Best ones to watch: Pitcher > Bird Lucky Train Kid Backflip > Moshpit > Rollerblader Guy jumps out of driver side while in motion, face-first into another car.

LMAO! That's what I'd do. smile.gif

Some morbidly obese female is dropping her stomach keg on some guys back calling him a "horsie" and shit. Fuckin weird.

I agree with Volvo, but cool to watch nonetheless.

Probably in the Top 5 Hottest Chicks On Earth list in my book. Incredible.
