thanks man! i was still sore today, but its about gone now. i have started to notice a difference in my legs/calves from building up muscle from all this riding...its nice getting to hills that i used to have to downshift and still stand up to get up and i can stay seated now. and my dad just stopped by today, brought me a brand new set of crankbrothers candy pedals...double sided will be MUCH nicer getting started than my old one sided i had to keep trying to flip over and clip in quickly...i just need to get some new cleats for these pedals for this weekend

new personal best! by a LONG shot too! 80.05 miles. i wanted to do it in 6hrs or less with breaks/lunch, and it was right at about that...not sure what time exactly i started, but it was around 930, and i got back just before 330. i am SORE as hell, and a nap for a couple hours is going to feel GREAT. first 45 out to newark were fine, since i had a tail wind the whole way. ride home was a bit tougher easton > westerville > galena > sunbury > johnstown > newark (lunch) >johnstown > new albany > hoover > easton http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/38812072

Lol...i need to find a person or two to ride with, or it may get boring...my buddy i usually ride with is in NC for the week

Weather looks like its gonna be nice, 78, light clouds, and i've got a day off work. Im looking to get out and set a personal best for distance and try to do 65+, but if i detour from johnstown to hit the trail towards newark, it could be up towards 80mi. Id like to start by 830-9am when its cool out, ride from my place near easton, up thru westerville, galena, sunbury, over to johnstown, towards newark, stop for lunch, back to johnstown, dowb through new albany, westerville, and back to easton

just out of curiosity, since i have no clue...how does a helmet "go bad"? ive head of bulletproof vests because the kevlar can break down, but how would a solid helmet do so?

And you might be able to get away with a 60cm frame...a buddy of mine is 6'4 and is a fairly serious rider and i believe he rides a 60cm... But my question is, are you going to buy a bike just for this? I would think if youre seriously thining of doing it, youd have a bike already and be training...i rode a bit last year, have just over 500mi in this ear, and im still working up to do a 100mi ride...its no joke

Just get one on CL and take it to a LBS with the owner to get it checked out, and if needed, let them tune it up...i got a bike with tiagra/105 components, and to replace the shifters alone would cost as much as i paid for the whole bike...i had to drive to wooster to get it though.

Ive tried to just tighten with a wrench and it usually goes down just so far then twists the lug...best thing is an impact gun to spin it on with some speed and power...just went through this maybe 4-6 months ago -
obviously, this was my 1st choice. :dumb:

is there such a thing? maybe im just looking under the wrong terms, or finding a bunch of shitty sites...after reading through the "what do you want to do when you grow up thread", it seems like a lot of people are in the same boat as me. i look through job postings constantly and i have yet to see many, if any that i say to myself "hm, that sounds interesting" is there something out there with a long questionaire that kinda digs into your mind to see what you enjoy, what you dont, and then gives you suggestions based on that?

pulled my back a few years ago, hurt pretty bad...took a day off work because i couldn't get out of bed...but like stated above, ive been pretty lucky with injuries, which is surprising growning up with 3 siblings within 5 years of me

chalk up one more to someone with no clue. didn't go to college, and now thinking about going back, but i have a couple problems...a) i get bored with shit too easy. i can't figure out anything that would keep me interested for more than a couple years before i get sick of it...b) i'm a person that if i can't get what i'm going for right away, i say fuck it...if i see an item online but can't buy it in the store, fuck it. it would make me insane to go to school for years to get a degree...unfortunately, a college education can't be picked up off the shelf and done. i had what i thought was a pretty decent gig doing collections, making almost $60k/yr with nothing but a HS diploma, had a few bad months and got the boot. i enjoyed it, but being out of it for ~8 months now, not sure if i want to go back...ive applied at a couple places, but i think its mainly the $$ drawing me back, knowing the potential earning...but i know for sure im already sick of doing customer service BS for 1/2 the pay. theres hardly any stress, but theres also 0 challenge for me and it bores the shit out of me to go to work every day. law enforcement has interested me, but i dont know how far i could get with the back issues i have from a few years ago.

what's your go to place for OEM replacement parts?
evan9381 replied to evan9381's topic in Passing Lane
it didnt take me long the first time, and that was probably the original pipe, at ~45k miles or so. i would think since ive busted those bolts loose not long ago, they wont be bad this time around and im sure now that you've said that, im gonna get :fuuuu: :dumb: -

evan9381 replied to evan9381's topic in Passing Lane
i doubt it'd be half the price...the last time i had to get something similar done, it was with my old integra and i bought a stock muffler off a guy which ended up being just a tad different...cost me ~$110 to have them chop the pipe off the muffler, bend a new pipe and attach a new flange. if i can score a pipe for $40-50, it'll take me 30 minutes to replace -
on my kia, the flex pipe has rusted out, and is annoyingly loud. it pisses me off more because i replaced a bad flex pipe with a brand new piece when i bought this car barely 3 years ago, and since then, haven't put but about 30k miles on it. as much as i hate this car, i don't want to spend much money. yeah, im cheap. i've found the pipe from $70-100 so whats your favorite spot to get replacement parts for cheap?
