  1. got it done. big thanks to brad. saved me a few bucks and a little time i didnt have to spend filling out rental forms for a ~2 mile round trip. next project after i get this bedroom done - buy a beater truck i can use for trips like this. im sure owning a home now, it will come in more useful than i could imagine.
  2. is the thurman burger on there?
  3. ill give a hand if theres pizza and beer! we (me, dad, and brothers) finished our basement at my parents house, but that was probably ~10 years ago. i remember getting one of those .22 caliber bullet nailers to drive the base boards for the frame into the ground...cant remember how the ceiling was done. ive been in the process of remodeling a bedroom last weekend and when i can the last few days, so im starting to learn a lot of this stuff, but more practice cant hurt...
  4. looks like i caught you just in time before you got busy! thanks again for helpin me out with all the electric stuff at the house! just got the 5/8 drywall to replace that sheet on the wall, and ended up scraping off all the popcorn shit....ceiling piece going up tomorrow (hopefully), and im hoping to finish everything this weekend...
  5. too bad theres not someone in the picture to get a size comparison
  6. if you got time, that'd be great. give me a call or text today when you get a minute...im leaving for work til about 9 and work has CR blocked, so i wont be able to get back on til later tonight. ill pm you my cell
  7. anyone near easton that can give me a hand for ~20 minutes tomorrow night? just need to run to lowes to get a couple sheets of drywall, and trying not to have to drop $20 on a truck if someone is available for a few minutes i could throw you $10 for your gas/time. im less than a mile from lowes, and just need to pick up 2 4x8 sheets. hopefully available about 9pm or just after, but if not, ill just have to leave work a bit earlier and go back after that. thanks
  8. jeff santilli in gahanna across the street from graters ice cream. i think its beecher rd.
  9. definitely. id really like to get a big chair or something off to the side to have some seating in there as well. i gotta get this part done first...too many projects, too little time/money
  10. i honestly have no clue. i just bought the house in march and the previous owners put these in the bedrooms, and i hate wood or laminate in the bedrooms...prefer to get out of bed and have nice carpet under my feet.
  11. sounds good. i just need to find some inexpensive doors for the bedroom. i took 4 of lowes 19$ sale doors for the closet, then decided later on the double doors for the room...now they're all out. figures.
  12. edit - if you're interested in the darker stuff, ill have another stack about that size once we get our room cleared out and pulled up before the carpet goes in...room is almost the exact size of the room that pile came from. will be a week or so
  13. stuff i pulled up while remodeling rooms this weekend. the big piles of pieces are full length not cut, the others are in various lenghts. i tried to seperate them by size. darker came from a room about 11'4" by 11-12', the lighter was in a room about 11'4" by like 8-9ft. with the lighter one, we also pulled up some from the hallway, which is about 3x8'...there are a few pieces that are cut to go around door frames, vents, etc, but theres not many (side/overhead shots to give you a rough idea how much there is) lighter http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMG_2714.jpg?t=1247461259 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMG_2718.jpg?t=1247461259 darker http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMG_2719.jpg?t=1247461259 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMG_2720.jpg?t=1247461259 $25 for either pile of one color. im right near easton at morse/sunbury
  14. so since i finally got some money ive been waiting on since mid april, right away, i jumped into spending it and doing some projects on the house ive been wanting to do. project = turn 2 small bedrooms into 1, and make a LARGE closet. rooms were both 11' 4" deep, room 1 about 8' wide, the other about 11', and there was a closet wall seperating them. room 1 - http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMG_2695.jpg?t=1247460229 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMG_2698.jpg?t=1247460229 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMG_2699.jpg?t=1247460229 room 2- http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMG_2702.jpg?t=1247460229 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMG_2703.jpg?t=1247460229 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMG_2704.jpg?t=1247460229 sorry...not many progress pics...too busy working trim/flooring was first to go. wall was next. got electric out of the way from the closet wall. framed out a wall to wall closet for 2 24" doors, which will be nice for the both of us to have plenty of space... next up was the door to the room...the original plan was to keep one door, frame/drywall the other. well, while sitting there looking at it, one small door wouldnt look right in the hall. so we decided to put a couple 2x6 beams up on jacks to support the load bearing portion of the wall, and frame out a door frame for 2 24" doors. got the drywall hung today, closet in and out, door in and out, all we have left is the ceiling where it came out from ripping the wall down, but we're saving that until after the electrician (thanks Chad/GTPnLS1) comes tomorrow. going to put in 4 6" recessed canister lights, and a ceiling fan in the middle of the room. i was almost able to get it centered, but not quite. i wanted to go 1/2 way between the windows, incase we ever decide to put the bed that way, its not off center. but the closet wall is only 6-7" from the right window, and the other end its about 20" from the left window. oh well, it wont be horrible heres a couple pics of where we're at. still need to mud/sand all the walls, which im not looking forward to (i hate mudding/sanding. ugh)...you can see on the floor where the closets used to be framed out. carpet guy came today and as soon as we're finished with everything upstairs, he should be able to get a crew out in about a week to install all the carpet. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMG_2706.jpg?t=1247460229 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMG_2711.jpg?t=1247460229 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMG_2712.jpg?t=1247460229 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMG_2713.jpg?t=1247460229 and before it gets said again, i know going from a 3br to a 2br is going to lower the value of the home, but the tiny rooms we have just arent realistic. i would much rather have a big room with room to move around then the cramped ass space we're in now.
  15. am now...not then. last 2.5 months, hes posted like 3x
  16. how soon do you want it? im redoing a master bedroom now, and i plan to put a 32" or so in there...id be willing to part with my 27" for $50. its probably going to be 1-2 weeks before we're finished though.
  17. i got a guy coming this weekend to measure for me. when he came out in march, he told me about 1125 for materials/labor 7/16" padding to do about 1000 sq/ft. but when i talked to him a few days ago, he said it would be 4-10 days to have it done, so that wont fit your time schedule.
  18. i just have to have the tv on and sleep when i get tired. lol. if im not tired, obviously its not time to sleep yet.
  19. whats fucking odd as hell about this, is just the other day i thought it was odd because i hadnt seen you post in quite a while. lol
  20. wouldnt say it was lately...march of last year...girls were just "meh". but theres titties, so thats something in their favor i guess
  21. i didnt know about alcohol + sun until st. augustine beach last year. hadnt burned in 6 days, and i sat by the pool for an hour and drand a couiple beers and burned like a motherfucker. i was talking to my mom about it and when i said i had a couple beers, she told me that was why. something about the alcohol fucking with you more in the sun
  22. he said he was going to call you...maybe have talked to him by now. his names tony. let me know what happens. im sure its because he paints houses daily, but he boggled my mind when he came over to help me fix up my house a few months ago. didnt lay a single drop cloth, didnt tape anything off, and just a quick brush stroke and it was a perfect line across the ceiling or corner, etc. i couldnt imagine doing it myself and doing that good.
