figure i might as well consolidate some stuff i've got f/s. everything available for pick up near easton, i can meet you somewhere with the bike 2011 Cannondale CAAD8 56cm, aluminum frame, carbon fork, tiagra components (9sp), compact crank (50/34), 12-26 cassette, mavic open pro wheels w/ 105 hubs (will come with some mismatched tires, red continental GP4000s ($60 tire), white continental ultra sport ($20), performance bike store brand cheap tire i used on my trainer). will also come with a bontrager wireless cyclometer (speed, distance, time) if i can find it, if not, i have a wired version of the same one as well i will throw in. can also throw in the factory front wheel for a spare if you want it. the ksyrium pictured cannot go with the bike, as its a loaner from the bike shop while my rear mavic wheel went in to get the hub serviced. i have to call them and get it back. Rode this bike all of year, about 3600 miles, serviced at Bicycle One in Gahanna. just had the gears adjusted, front derailleur cable and housing repalced this month. Its a nice bike, i just upgraded this week and dont need 2 road bikes. some marks on the paint from it going down a couple times and rock chips, but still in great condition. i wouldnt hesitate to go do another 100 mile ride on this this weekend if the weather was good enough. i started on this bike this year riding slow B groups, and worked my way up to the A groups, so it will hang with the fast guys if the motor is strong enough caught the bike on sale for $890 + tax in february, the mavic wheels were another $270. $775 firm. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG2512-1.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG2898.jpg Kegerator bought it a few months back, never got it set up (did plug it in to verify it gets cold, and can do so before you come pick it up), has all the internal stuff, needs a couple new lines. have a co2 tank i bought off a member here, but never got it filled. black sides and front, SS top, its on wheels. roommate is moving out and i know just me here, i probably won't buy a keg for just me. $300 OBO http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG3334.jpg 55g aquarium Had this out in the garage since i broke it down last year. thought about setting it up in the future, but now its just taking up space so i've decided to get rid of it. 55g tank (back of tank painted black) black/gray stand fluval 405 filter 2-300w heater (i can't remember exactly, but it did fine in this tank) lights with newer bulbs powerhead light timer 2 glass lids (one side of one of them is cracked) magnetic tank cleaner some misc chemicals, decorations, filter media, hoses, etc. some pics of it set up and now below $300 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/DSC02497-2.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/DSC02977-2.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG3673.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG3674.jpg dual 29g tank stand Couple small surface rust spots, wont really be seen with a tank on it, but a shot of spray paint wouldnt hurt. picture makes it look worse than it is $50. Dont be affraid to pitch me an offer. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG3586.jpg I'll be adding more stuff as i get my house back together after the roommate moves out. i've got stuff packed away everywhere that i put up to clear out that room, so expect to see more stuff

previous owner. dont worry, they're already off. i swapped them last night when i got home. though, idk WTF they were on a $3k bike for at all. i would've been happier if he sold them to me with no pedals. with those, it makes me think he was really riding it like that :lolguy: spent time last night getting my good tires swapped, pedals swapped, lubed the drive train, got my garmin GPS sensors mounted, and the saddle position adjusted.

lol. a buddy of mine just ordered a brand new project one (custom) trek madone 7. retail price on it is somewhere approaching $10k, if not just over it. :fuckyeah:

i ride mountain, when i have a bike to borrow :gabe: i enjoy it, even though i only went out 3 times this year. i'd almost be willing to trade my aluminum road bike for a half decent MTB, but i've been spoiled in that my buddies wife works for trek, so i'll ive ridden is their best demo bikes (superfly 100's, etc), and i know nothing i can get out of my road bike will compare to those FS bikes i've ridden.

Idk. you may be right. I dont have anything except my bathroom scale to go off of. Think my LBS would have a scale i could get an accurate idea with? I took a 15lb dumbell i had, the scale was pretty spot on weighing that. I then balanced the bike on the rear wheel and its right between the 15/16 hash marks. Either way, its gonna be much better than my CAAD8, and for that price, i cant complain. Also, since youre in this thread, when i switched the brakes, the silver "cap" on the brake cable housing doesnt fit into the screw on the ultegra brakes like it did on the tektro. Its just sitting on top and easy to move. Front and rear. Is this something that a) i can pick up at a LBS? Is there different diameters/sizes? and b) if i cant find it locally, should i have any issues riding it as is? Picture below how it just kind of sits on top vs sitting down inside http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG3793.jpg

aren't you the verizon guy who used to be on here all the time? 8 posts in the last year? it funny how quick i remembered the s/n, yet forgot all about you. if you are, i bought a sweet ass RAZR phone off you like 4-5 years ago :dumb:

so, if you missed my CL thread, heres what i got from a guy last night...im just gonna copy/paste from another forum im on since im too lazy to type up another one. well, pretty much stole a bike from this guy last night. found a 2012 cannondale supersix 3 (full carbon, ultegra components) on CL. listed for $2500 (maybe a hair high, but about what i'd expect to see it at). had some other stuff with it i didnt need. went back and forth, asked him what his bottom dollar was for just the bike, he said $1500. i figure if he's willing to drop that low, i might be able to get him to go even less. i told him i had $1200, told him i had a couple things i could put in for trade, he wasn't interested, just in cash. so its screaming out scam to me. the bike new is $2800-3000, he's had it only this year, but he says he has receipts, and he'd do $1200 if i could come get it today. it was a 2+ hour drive, and i told him if it seemed fishy, i'd skate and take the $40 hit on gas it took me vs $1200...but i got there, bike checks out, serial number still there, so no worries about it being scratched off (i would've walked), he did have the receipt, owners manual, both matched the bike, receipt showed it was bought in april for like $2700 on sale. guy definitely didn't seem like a cyclist, said his dad bought it for him for his grades in school, said he rode it around town, but less than 100 miles on it (and it looks like it). honestly seemed like he may have been on drugs (he did ask me if i had any "indoor gardening equipment" for trade. LOL) one chip in the paint on the top tube thats about the size of a pencil eraser, but i think i can clean it up with some black nail polish. best part? he told me it was a 56, which is what my aluminum bike is, and i still feel a little stretched out (still sitting forward on the saddle, and even with a new 0 offset seatpost, cant move it forward anymore), so i wanted to move to a 54 this year...i figure easier to put on a longer stem if needed, than try to shrink a frame 2cm...i get there, it IS a 54cm. WIN. 2012 supersix (full carbon) BB30 ultegra 6700 shifters, front derailleur, rear derailleur, cassette, chain FSA SL-K light compact crank it had Tektro brakes, but the groupset i picked up a few weeks ago (ultegra 6700), i swapped the brakes last night for the 6700's Sram S27AL wheels. not great wheels, but they'll do for now. eventually i'll bump up to some Ksyrium SLR or similar. Cheap platform pedals are getting pulled, as are the stupid red and white tires (which sucks, because the red is a gp4000s, which i like, but the white is a crappy conti ultrasport, which i had TONS of flats with this year before upgrading) He left on a cheapo bontrager cyclometer, but i'll swap my garmin 500 stuff over to this. Bike is, per my bathroom scale, a few pounds lighter than my aluminum CAAD8, but i'll try to get an accurate weight later. its probably right around 15lbs or so. i know the frame is right around 1000-1050g from what i've read online pics! her first ride on the roof rack http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG3776.jpg full bike http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG3783.jpg front brake http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG3781.jpg rear brake http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG3782.jpg shifters http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG3786.jpg Supersix! http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG3787.jpg SL-K crank http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG3785.jpg Rear derailleur, 11-25 cassette http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG3784.jpg S27AL wheels http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG3788.jpg

$1200 or the price of it new? lol $1200 is a deal for JUST a full carbon frame. let alone the components on it (shifters, etc) and wheels.. i ALMOST felt bad for the guy. almost. :dumb: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG3783.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG3785.jpg

im in a pool at work. first time i think i've ever played the lottery, but it seems the big work groups hit alot, so what the heck. its like 10-15 people, but i think i could kick back and have a modest rest of my life off ~$10m
-
20% more sales? sounds to me like the economy is making a huge improvement over last year
-
Yeah, i pretty much stole it from him, but both parties are happy, so oh well. lol No to decide, do i keep my old road bike for training (its a heavier bike) and loan it out when someone wants/needs to ride with me, or do i sell it and try to pick up a mountain bike so i can go out and hit the trails with friends?
-
well, thankfully I didn't have to make that 4 hour round trip drive for nothing. guy had a copy of the receipt, matched the bike. said his dad bought it for him for his grades in school and didn't know that he was selling it...could be true, could be bullshit, but he had a receipt, owners manual, bunch of stuff from when it was new, and I walked away with a $2800 dollar bike for $1200.

it's in Akron :/
-
that's just for trek stores. Thats not like a trek visa card, like what Alex was probably talking about
-
Bill of Sale with the serial number doesn't sound like a bad idea...I should have thought about that, with the number of guns that I bought and sold over the years
-
I'm taking every reasonable precaution that I can think of so let me start with that... that being said, I found a carbon bike on Craigslist today. Guy had it listed for $2500 with some extra stuff that I did not need. I asked him what his bottom dollar would be on the bike alone, he said 1500. he also said he has receipts, which makes me feel more comfortable, but then he said he has a credit card statement, from his Trek card. It's a Cannondale bike. he agreed to meet me in the police department parking lot, and I told him if it seems sketchy, I'll skate. now I'm hoping to be able to get with the police department and check for any records of a reported stolen bike of that description, just to cover my ass for any receiving stolen property charges. I think I've covered my bases, but what else might it be smart for me to look out for in this deal? I figure the worst that happens if it's fishy, is I'm out of about 35 dollars in gas, but if it checks out, I scored a hell of a deal

someone walking down street, ok to shoot in the head and burn in a corn field. someone breaks into your house, not ok to shoot them in the head and not burn them. :dumb:
