David, Thanks for the additional history on the car. It is definitely a nice clean example of a 68 Javelin. My Dad also said he has a rebuildable motor and tranny that can go with the car if someone would like to put it back to AMC Powered. Randy

I need to get $1000 to try get back some of the cash I spent in all the repair costs. I have probably spent about $1800 over the last year in repairs and about $1000 of that in the last month with getting the head reworked/head gasket, radiator/hoses, and battery. I tried to help my brother out and let him make small payments to buy the car, but after a week the radiator developed a leak and he drove it hot and blew the head gasket. So I ended up with the car again and now you know the whole story. For $1000 should make a depenadable and fuel economic vehicle.

Has 168,000 miles and is an Automatic w/AC but AC condensor has leak. Not looking for trade at the moment. Thanks.

No dyno or times. The guy that had the car previously raced it with a 502 Big Block and ran like upper 9's in 1/4 but the current motor is pretty much a stock 2 bolt main 350 the guy put in there just to keep the car running after pulling the 502. My Dad was intending to build a 383 stroker out of it.

It could be returned to stock. My Dad has all the parts to do so, but he does not want to take on that project. Between him and I we have 6 AMC's and he picked up this Javelin thinking it would be fun because of the Chevy powertrain and ease to get parts for them. AMC parts dont come so easy. Now after having this car for a few months he has realized he is more of an AMC purist than he thought.

My Dad is selling this 68 Javelin SST has been a Drag car most of its life, therefore, has been garaged and taken care of very well. The Vinyl top and Chrome is in great shape. The drivetrain was converted from AMC to a 350 Chevy and Turbo 400 tranny with 8 1/2" Rear end(Not sure of gear). MSD Ignition, 12 gal Fuel Tank cell in trunk. I love the "pimp" Orange heavy metal flake paint and rear fender flares. Asking $5000/obo. My Dad could give more info if anyone interested let me know and I will send contact info. My Dad is selling his 74 GremDawg!! He is running out of room. Check out details and pics below on car.
