  1. Ive done a few of these at my shop. Just prep (sand and scuff) well and itll last. If you just slap it on itll peel in random places. I know a guy in town that does it for 300 but the prep work is questionable. I charge 5-800 depending on the bed size and lifetime gurantee
  2. I have Westfield, and its worth it. I hace three cars, a bike and 125 a month. Had geico before and working as a shop owner and fighting with insurance companies on repairs mad eme switch to a premium insurance. Its nice to save money but Allstate, Geico, Statefarm, Ohio Mutual, Progressive are really out for the bottom dollar on repairing their customers vehicles. Most of my day is spent fighting these companies trying to explain why used suspension is not a proper way to fix a car or that buying used parts doesnt save money due to extra time etc. Usaa, State Auto, Westfield hardly ever argue the price or try to throw junk parts on cars.
  3. Breaks off and helps identify hit and runs. They never got the guy that hit me and i handed him the plate. Or my gf that got sideswiped on 70 by a drunk driver in an escalade, or most of the customers cars that i fix. Alot times customers say the cops informed them they wouldnt come to the crash scene unless there were injuries. I fix alot of cop cars and meet many great cops but most of the time people get away with hit n skips.
  4. Im allergic to making rational decisions till after the fact.
  5. I run a shop. Its not gonna pull out with paintless dent removal. Sorry. Like someone else said a replacement is easier cheaper and faster at most major shops than trying to fix the dent. I have a metal door that i cut out at my shop to show people how thin metal is on cars and why theyre a pain to fix. Metal stretches when pushed in and stretches when pulled back. Think a paperclip being bent back and forth. Now if you can find someone willing to put in the time to fix it for a decent price go for it. Large shops have to get cars in and out and alot of the time their employees hate getting stuck on a project that in the end will cost them time and miss out on repairing other cars thus hurt their paychecks.
  6. Jegs Reason 1: Right by my shop Reason 2: Get 15% off... anything. Worked out well when I stroked my 302.
  7. Spoiler Alert: Also the documentary mentions his IQ of being 70. However Avery's lawyers mention many times, "He had access to destroy such and such evidence. Why didnt he use it?" Then go on to discredit his nephew with an IQ of 70. Um idk your client his not close to comprehending on how to cover up a crime. However, I do agree that the Manitowoc PD is an incompetent department. Which still makes me think that Avery is guilty as the PD would be incapable of designing this "conspiracy".
  8. Below info due to the terrorism label, as these Oregon hillbillies could be viewed. Most people that violate the Patriot Act, or any other "sneak and peek" justification order designed to prevent terrorism is normally used in drug trafficking cases. In other words feds label you a terrorist to obtain a search warrant without your knowledge and if the search turns up other violations a typical search warrant is issued. Credibility of this site is up to your discretion (its more for the graph) but political science/human rights/other lib eral sh**t im required to take for my degree are repeatedly going over this issue. https://privacysos.org/blog/feds-overwhelmingly-use-sneak-and-peeks-in-drug-cases-not-to-fight-terrorism/ If you need a more credible source https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-watch/wp/2014/10/29/surprise-controversial-patriot-act-power-now-overwhelmingly-used-in-drug-investigations/ In a way kind of supports the occupiers' in Oregon argument. However they are idiots.
  9. I think he did, especially after all the evidence the doc. omitted. However, while I was watching it with my girlfriend I mentioned that the prosecutor looked/sounded like a pedophile. Turns out the prosecutor is up on charges for sexting a domestic violence victim in one of his cases. (http://www.cbsnews.com/news/ex-da-ken-kratzs-law-license-suspended-in-sexting-scandal/)
  10. Off-topic but just last week my friend let one of his sketchy family members drive his jeep. In short he had to go pick it up from him after a day and his family member had cut off the cat. Hence the one day per customer, per item rule... and drugs.
  11. Im just telling you that every house you could possibly go into has radon in it, yours mine, everywhere. Why do radon testers immediately head to the basement and throw a sensor down the sump pump area? Because its there all the time, everyday. Now when you get a test, to get a true reading living spaces need to be tested as thats where exposure overtime happens, if there is a threatening level of radon.
  12. Exactly radon is in the ground everywhere, and you cant do anything about it. I should go around and offer shale rock removal because its radioactive too.
  13. Radon can be found in any house. Its in the ground so if i test your sump pump area i bet theres radon ther. It wouldn't deter me at all. Radon tests should be done in all parts of the house.
  14. Ive never really got caught up in the press and their agenda on the current status of global climate. The geological record shows mass periods of fluctuating tempatures (ice age anyone). The world is equipped to handle global warming. If its too could even by less of a degree due to volcanoes ash in the atmosphere see "The year without summer", then crop and cattle prices rise and i get stuck with a higher grocery bill. Lastly, California sits on a multiple fault zone, affected by tsunamis, wildfire, landslides, drought, and volcanoes. Its just not a naturally stable environment to live in. Much less draining and diverting of water tables in the area. El Nino sucks for some, but isn't the end all of other weather patterns that could cause greater panic.
  15. I bought my daily off there, a 2003 ford explorer. Hit in the front in rear. Had 98k and my old one had 267k so i just took the old parts off mine and put them on the lower mileage one. Paid 1200 for the explorer 3 years ago and im still driving it. I also bought an A5 off of there hit in the rear and im still waiting for a decent one hit in the front. I capped out at 7k on the A5, and havent got the one i want in the last couple trys. At this point I wont make any money or save on the A5 as the year i bought it would of been cheaper at this point to just buy a decent used one. However the explorer has worked out great.
  16. Any of the above places are good. I would just stay away from some of your more advertised shops in the area. Or any consolidated shops
  17. Keens Body Shop, but im biased. Me and my family run it together
  18. I havent heard anything back, so not sure.
  19. I go out about once or twice every month and I see Elliot every time. Thursday my friend got a pic with Cardale. Cardale was smart enough to put his drink down. They dont act beligerent and you never see them order a drink so at least theyre aware of who they are. But dam they take some risks. I think 2 games just to send a message to keep the team in line.
  20. Bad day for Big Ten. I could care less though, thank goodness OSU is ranked 1st and won last year. All they gotta do is win.
  21. I had a fridge with trouble cooling. Compressor is easy to troubleshoot with a multimeter, just google the ohm range it should be in and the test points. Literally takes 2 minutes with the back panel off. Mine turned out to be a faulty flap that sends air to the freezer and fridge (90 bucks) and a corroded relay that provided power to the compressor (29 bucks). I got the fridge free b/c of this and fixed it myself. Definitely worth the time. It was my first time fixing a fridge so im no expert but i do have experience with wiring diagrams.
  22. I like woodys not the cleanest lot. However their price to pull a motor for me was the same as Pick n Pulls price for me to do it myself.
  23. Hit it on the head here, I help run my familys body shop (Keens) and we just bought a 6000 dollar scanner 3 months ago, and it still requires a 150 dollar a month subscription to keep up with the new cars. Also we have to pay 2k a year for frame information and then we also have to pay another 1800 a year for information on all vehicle electronic information and their locations, and proper removal procedures. Not to mention the estimating systems cost another couple grand per year. Tack on taxes, business overhead ie electricity, payroll, and number 1 taxes and its a hard business to keep up in. Also new cars use high strength steel and require more stringent welding methods. I just went through the I-Car high strength steel welding class and it was just 11 hours of hell making perfect welds. Those classes are 500 a piece and insurance companies require them if your going to fix their customer cars.
