  1. Thanks Clay. 1) I used regular Bondo body filler to repair the curb damage and on the rock chips that were here and there on the wheel surfaces. 2) I used a variation of different sand papers, starting with 60 to knock down the Bondo'd areas. I used 180, 220 & 400 to prep the wheel surface before primer. Used 1000 to quickly sand down the primer (sandable primer). Using 1000 & 1500 to wet sand the paint. Once I clear them, I'll probably use 1500 & 2000 grit to wet sand the clear. All sanding was by hand other than the lug nut holes where I used a dremel sanding wheel to get in the holes. 3) On the calipers, I just wire brushed them with a brass wire wheel I used in my drill. JB Weld didn't end up being used on anything. I did read on a few forums where some people used JB Weld in place of the Bondo, so I just decided to give the Bondo a try and see how it worked, and it seems to have provided me with results I think I'll be happy with.
  2. Now that the suspension is done, I can get back to work on the wheels. The other 3 are finally done with touch-ups and I have moved on to the primer coats. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/G35%20Wheels/DSC00646.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/G35%20Wheels/DSC00647.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/G35%20Wheels/DSC00648.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/G35%20Wheels/DSC00649.jpg
  3. Yeah...here's my setup currently. I do need to get a bigger compressor though. The Eastwood soda blaster is in the lower right corner (blue) with two bags of soda under the cabinet. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/TAYLORED/0411092127.jpg
  4. A few new shots. Wanted to get some detailed before shots and now that I'm pretty much done working on the Maxima few at least a day or two, I can take some time and work on the bike. Seat & Tank removed http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/CB750/DSC00634.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/CB750/DSC00633.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/CB750/DSC00632.jpg Close up of the rear caliper http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/CB750/DSC00635.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/CB750/DSC00637.jpg Pipes http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/CB750/DSC00638.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/CB750/DSC00641.jpg Not sure http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/CB750/DSC00642.jpg Gonna need to find that piece http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/CB750/DSC00643.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/CB750/DSC00645.jpg
  5. Get me some pics and a price. I'm curious to see how it could look. Thanks

  10. Very cool! I just got Terron's '76 CB750f that I'm wanting to turn into something similar.
  11. Any of you guys on the OGF forum?
  12. I haven't hardly caught anything this year. What are you using, jigs?
  13. The tank isn't in the best of shape. There's a pretty good crease in the right side, so I'm not certain whether I'll even use this one.
  14. This is by far my favorite that I've come across. http://www.bikeexif.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/wrenchmonkees_gorilla_punch.jpg

  17. I think staying with the black wheels will make it look a bit better than the one pictured.
  18. I'm kind of leaning towards picking up a set of Comstar Wheels, but will more than likely be going with a RWL tire. I'm planning on heading to Vintage Days at Mid Ohio at the end of July to snag some parts and check out some other Cafes.
  19. They work for me (if you know what I'm sayin') :bangbang: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgl2IW7OWUY&NR=1
  20. Picked up Terron's '76 CB750 SS today in hopes of transforming it into a nice Cafe Racer. This is the end result that I'm shooting for. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/CB750/1399039834.jpg Here's what she looked like before I got my mitts on her. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3569/3486650383_0d8d704254_o.jpg First thing I did was pull off the Easy Rider rear seat and removed the rear fender. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/CB750/DSC00620.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/CB750/DSC00621.jpg I have quite a few irons in the fire right now, but I'm hoping to get her running to where I can at least get some riding in. I'm thinking that most of the more major changes will come during the off season. Stay tuned.
  21. Terron, Thanks for a great project. Nice chatting with you. It's already been under the knife (so to speak) -Tim
