  1. I remebered somthing while I was working out. You run aluminum on AC, and other steels with DCEN. So, I don't see how a good sound weld could possibly be made.
  2. I've never seen it done before. You have to run a shit load of amps on aluminum to get rid of the oxide cover. Even on thin shit you would have to run upwards of 150 amps. Two completely different metals, require two completely different filler metals. I guess you could try to use no filler, or try to braze it...don't think it's possible to make a good sound weld regardless though. Let me know what you do tinman...I'm curious.

  4. Okay, here is my problem. I ordered an ls1 engine mount (part that holds the bushing) but of course, they sent me the wrong piece. I am only in town about once a month to work on the car, and the only thing holding be back from further progression is getting the engine in. So, if any one has an LSx engine pulled out of the f-body, vette, gto, or has an extra engine bushing mount, could I possible swipe it from you? I will order a new one to be shipped stright to your house or where ever you want it to go. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
  5. About the v8 powered RX-7's....yeppers, started mine about 2 months ago. Probably won't be done until March because I have to fabricate a bunch of "stuff", and I only get to work on it one weekend every month. Oh, and Coltboostin ------> HA!!11!!

  9. I can't seem to find a place where I can rent a truck and trailer (preferably flatbed) for a good price. I can rent a truck from like hertz and a trailer from uhaul, but I'd rather get both from one spot. Should be cheaper that way. Anybody know of a place. Thanks

  17. The car is in Windermere, somewhat close to Orlando. As for the dolly, is that one of them front wheel only thingy-ma-jiggers. I would like to try and get a flat bed if possible first. Thanks anyway though.
  18. I will be going on a journey to pick up an FD RX-7. The engine is fubar so I can't drive it. More than likly I'll beable to get down there next weekend to pick it up. As far as location, well, it's in Florida, but I'll make it a non-stop trip. Should be about a 32 hour drive to there and back. I'll bring it back ASAP. If you could help me out, that would sure be just dandy, and I would greatly appreciate it.
