  1. Hello all, My front air dam on the car I just bought is missing. Looks like I need to get another one. Does anyone know a GM part number for this? I know I need to probably go to a junk yard to get one, but I'd like to know if there is a part number as well. Thanks!
  2. Would sensors from Auto Zone or Advance Auto be ok? Or should I hold off and get true Delco sensors?
  3. Looking at that thread... will I really need the new harnasses put in? I just want the car to run close to stock at the moment. Also, I heard people re-using the gaskets, but I wasn't so sure about that. Should I change mine out?
  4. Sounds like I may just wait to get an LS6 intake manifold since I don't drive this car much, boy this job sounds like a pain. Thanks for the quick responses.
  5. Hello all, Well I just purchased another bird again so I'm back in the picture. I have a question though. My car is kinda running rough almost like a motor mount is snapped or something (not jumping or missing, but just feels like it's shaking a bit. It's got plenty of power.) and this car has a code in it. It is the knock sensor low input code. So I'm asuming that the knock sensor could be bad. Could this cause my engine to run a bit rough. I'm asuming it could. Second, where is that thing located and how hard is it to change? I'll probably end up doing it today if it's not that hard. Is there more than one on it? Thanks for your help!!
  6. I'd also be interested in well when I pick up my TA and want to have it painted. I have a family member holding on to one for me.
  7. I guess they could (cause they will have to fix it anyway) but I'm trying to see how serious it is before I drive to Marion. If it's the clutch then they won't cover it (not under the agreement) and I've wasted the trip, gas, and incoviencing a friend to help ride up with me.
  8. Is there anyone around the area that could take a look at this for me? I'm trying to do this soon so it's covered under the dealership warranty.
  9. Sent you a PM. I need to have this looked at soon so I can have their warranty take care of it.
  10. Hello everyone, I've recently purchase a 2002 Ford Focus ZTS with a 5-speed manual. Everything is working ok, but I did notice that it's harder to shift into 1 and 2 than 3rd, 4th, and 5th. It kinda hitches a little bit sometimes. It doesn't do this when I'm stoppped and I have the clutch in (it goes back and forth real easy) But when I move a little and try it again I can feel it being noticeably more difficult to shift into. It's not grinding or clanking, I can just feel it through the stick. Like I said above sometimes it will hitch a little bit when putting it in 1 or 2, but not all the time. Could this be a shifting fork or syncros, or am I looking at possibly an easier fix than this. Do you think this is something that will probably get worse until I can't shift into those gears? Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
  11. Car is sold, edited title for mods to lock
  12. Also you can check out thread: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35166 This has more detail on what works needs done to it. Most of the work is minor to the exterior, just needs parts that I don't want to fiddle with right now.
  13. *** Car is SOLD, Mods please lock *** Well it's time to sell my old bird. The car has 172k miles on it. It does run and holds ok oil pressure (no knocking). It would have plenty of power if the auto trans did not slip as much. It doesn't burn oil and still gets ok gas mileage (like 14 city, 20 highway) The lifters do tick a little though. The car just got a new Opti-spark, ignition module, ignition coil, and plugs and wires. The oil has always (I repeat ALWAYS) been changed every 3300 miles (at least) It has a newer black top on it (1 year old) and it is fully functional. It also has a set of WS6 rims on it (although one needs stripped and either painted or chromed). It has a decent set of tires (plenty of tread left, just needs rotated and balanced). I've owned the car since it had 84k miles on it (6 years ago) and have tried to take the best care of it that I could. It does need some paint, but not a lot of rust on it (only a bit on the underside) The only other modification to it is that it has a Borla Cat-back exhaust on it. The car does not have a radio, but the dash has not been defaced. The interior is un-touched and looks good when clean (cloth seats). I'm looking for $1000 OBO. I can deliver this car (I live in Columbus) If you have any questions on this car feel free to ask. I don't have any pics right now, but if you ask I can take some tonight and PM them to you. I'll be honest about the car with you with any questions you have. Feel free to PM or to send an e-mail to clayton006@gmail.com Thanks, Clayton
  14. That's what I was thinking. Time to get the lock fixed and get a beater for the time being.
  15. ** Mods if this needs moved, please do ** Just trying to gauge some opinions... Well here is the situation: I got my convertible back last week from the shop. And it's running as best as could be expected. There is a lot wrong with this car and I'm debating on if I should sell it and buy one I really want later... or wait for a bit and try to fix this one. On the list to fix: The LT1 needs rebuilt or swapped out. Pushing almost 173k miles is worrying me. Plus the lifters are really starting to tick more now. The car has "lower" than normal oil pressure. The 4L60e needs rebuilt. It hasn't had a good transmission in it for a while. No radio, and no driver's side lock (which is being fixed this week). It needs new weatherstripping, and the rear tail lights leak really bad. The car needs painted (although no rust on the body, just the underside). The rims need stripped and either painted or chromed. The convertible top is actually in very good shape. The headlight gears are stripped, and it needs new suspension all around. I know it seems like a laundry list. About 2 years ago you could not have given me enough money (well that's not entirely true) to get rid of this car, but now it seems like the problems are finally catching up to me. I guess my question is, should I dump money into this car and try to restore it? Or should I try to hunt down an LS1 M6 (prefer convertible) and work on it when the time comes? I should note that by selling it I mean trading it in on another vehicle. Thanks for the input, Clayton
  16. Well the last update: I got my car back today. It's idle-ing a lot better than it did prior to all of this mess which is nice. They found out that there was a bad ground going to my ignition module / coil (I forget which one even though they are both right there) and it was causing all sorts of crap to happen. I'm just glad to have the car back. Now only if I can find a local speed shop that's trustworthy and does great work....
  17. It almost looks like he's about to spit on someone by that look.
  18. Did they take it from somewhere else? I didn't know. I had a co-worker link it to me.
  19. http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/21/today-in-joystiq-march-21-2007/ This had me rolling for a little bit.... :funny:
  20. Yeah I mean I don't know why that guy couldn't take a joke. It's a rule of thumb.... If you post something on the internet or in e-mail, you are almost guaranteed to get a response with both criticism or praise (unless it's that crappy red car that you linked to. That's just whack)
  21. QFT I was never a rotten child, but maybe that was because my dad knew when to let me know when I was out of line. Sounds like this kid could use some too.
  22. I agree with ^^. Even though the kid seems to be a little nuts and just wants attention (as he stated), I think it was a little far reaching for the school to suspend him. I wonder how the court is going to rule on this one.
