yea being used to the car makes a big difference.... Take GRN96WS6's 60ft for example... 2.162 whilst running a 13.80. At some point in the past i ran a 2.003 60ft while running a 15.12 in the Z24. Just knowing the vehical can make drastic differences in the cars overall acceleration. BTW it took me almost 3yrs to figure out how to get from 2.266 to 2.003 in that car. It turned out the "worst" way according to everyone else was actully the best way fo that perticular tire. I had to spin the tire a hair faster than if it was just gettting full grip and allow it to go into a short hop. Normally, this is something you want to aviod, but it seems to be the best way to do it.

I was just watching the news and they were saying that the new Mustangs are supposedly to see drastic drop in insurence rates. Appearently, Ford worked in hand with State Farm to make design changes that would cause repair to be cheaper and easier, stronger bumpers, and make locks harder to pick and pull. This of course as of now is speculation but drops in insurence rates are expected to owners of the newest model.

That car went from potential mini-viper like thingy to a Pontiac miata. It coulda been cool if they woulda just left it the fuck alone... but no, they had to add all the amenities and FUEL SAVER engine... 4 letter words all over

i dont think its illegal to go w/o a hood as long as it doesnt make the cars front end unfit for driving, as in structural integrity. Ive gone w/o a hood a couple times when hauling 1200lb loads of mulch in the Z24 on hot ass days to prevent it from over heating... never had a problem with the autorities about it. Also, a 3800lb J-body cant stop and handels like ass.

I would have liked to see the old Mopar w/ nitrous run the Yellow Viper... They both turned 9.2's... that would be a race so close itd be pretty rediculous... a slow motion Pro-Stock drag more or less.

Were you the white GSX on the trialer???? Also, wth does "HG" stand for... i probably know and am just having a retarded moment... also known as my life
-
are you going to get rid of those 50'??? They might work for the Z24. Some of the LT1/LS1 injectors work in the head with minor modification to the harness and casting. If you plan to get rid of em, i might be willing to buy em if theyll fit.

I heard that run... didnt see it, but i did see the board light up after i heard your car. It was the best sound i heard all day. Seeing all those fast cars out there made me realize that working with the Volvo is sort of a lost cause. Sure i could do some stuff to it to make it stand out a little more (i was refered by some of the races as "the driver of THE Volvo") but really i think id be wasting my time trying to make quick passes with it... too many question marks. I think i may just start trying to get the Z24 back together and take a plasma cutter to it and go from there.

So who all made it??? I was there and was SEVERELY dissappointed with my results. 15.7@86... my car just wasnt performing for me... i dont think the track was either. I did manage to talk to Carl for a better part of the day and I did see Sams Z06 run a couple times but never actully saw Sam I spotted the Blue GLi also but had no idea who it was so didnt introduce myself. Hats off to Sam's Z06 and Sam for displaying some fantastic driving and making some pretty exciting passes. Carl did a great job too. He was having trouble at first bombing around in the 13's then ran a 12.998, and later, while i was napping in my car, he said he did a 12.6 after some suspension adjustments. I had a pretty good time, just wish i could have meet some more people.

Kieth, you have no idea what youre talking about. Go practice welding shit to the work table

missed that one... thnx

To quote Forrest Gump... "That boy has to be the stupidest son of a bitch alive..." "Yea.... but he sure is fast! *big grin*" I think that car is like the R32 that made crazzy ass power. Its all surge and would be next to impossible to control coming out of a corner. If they are going to put the 6 spd back in and go for top end, then that IMO would be a good choice. But to try to turn quick laps with it anywhere other than like Hockenheim or a hug focken oval just wouldnt be doing the engine or the car a justice.

Well at this point im just really tired of seeing this car sit in the garage. Someone please take it. Heres what it comes with: Race prepped LD9 block .020 over Race prepped crank milled -.020 main/-.030 rod journals Machined matching Clevite 77 bearings for mains and rods Eagle H-beam 650hp rods AutoMeter Procomp Ultra lite 66mm gauges: Vac, water temp, oil press, fuel press (with most fittings) 683 head with 2.3LO cam swap (in the car) stock 683 head (needs rebuild) stock 086 head (needs rebuild) another stock LD9 head of unknown casting number (needs rebuild) 2 2.4L Twin Cam IDI covers 1 Quad 4 HIGH OUTPUT IDI cover multiple sets of 2.4 and 2.3 cams LD9 intake manifold 2.3LO intake manifold LD9 exhaust manifold 4-1 header (in car) multiple sets of cam towers and caps 1 extra oil pump 1 extra water pump 1 extra oil pan The car itself has a bad bottom end. The block is toasted. For it to run again it needs to have the engine pulled, the head pulled and swapped onto the race block or another head of choice, and then reassymbled. For the block to be ready, it needs .020 over pistons, and assymbled. The cars suspension and drive train is fine. The tires hold air for a couple days but are good enough to drive on to go have them changed. All electrical works. Passenger and rear seats are removed but i still have them if needed. Rear deck and plastic trim was removed and tossed. Still has door panels and dash. Full carpet. Was asking $2000 for EVERYTHING (3k invested in just the race block and crank) Now asking $1500 OBO. any Q's PM -Schall
