I had a coworker win a Harley with a $20K sticker. He was taxed $8K, so he collected as many losing scratch off lottery tickets as he could, in order to write them off as gambling losses that went against the price of the bike. It's another option.

The John Carpenter movie was from 1982, and was also a remake (The Thing From Another World, 1951). http://www.rollogrady.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/the_more_you_know.jpg The 1982 movie was dubbed the scariest movie of all time (debatable), and is still an excellent movie. It's hard to say that about a lot of movies from the 80's.

Add to this the fact that they make little enough to qualify for EIC and our tax burden increases significantly. This post is off topic. What we are talking about is the federal budget and the problems faced with how people pay taxes and how our money is spent. I'm not saying your post is incorrect, but that argument does not belong in this thread.

My neighbor accidentally caught a skunk in a live trap. Decided to kill it with what is considered a humane shot, diagonally through the body of the animal, from behind. Killed the skunk, but it sprayed as soon as it was shot. Smell stayed in the neighborhood for days.

MOMA is awesome, as stated above. Eat at Carn. Deli, see a play. It doesn't have to be Broadway, off Broadway is good too. Ride the subway, look at street performers and give them money. Be a tourist and make a big deal out of every celebrity you see.
