  1. Good luck Kale! Represent OVR and make us proud. Hopefully Brian does well too!
  2. Just trying to help a lady friend out with her 01 Honda Accord 2.3l. Her transmission sprung a serious leak and is now toast. I told her I would try and help her. I don't want her to get ripped off, so I figured I would see if anyone had a trans/knew someone who would be fair to her. thanks in advance!
  3. Browsing the automotive repair section I found this gem below. If you do some extra browsing there are replys back and forth complaining about hack jobs etc. I found it amusing.. Anybody know BIG TONY? Guy complaining about "Tony": http://columbus.craigslist.org/aos/3974138733.html This is "BIG Tonys" response: http://columbus.craigslist.org/aos/4014363631.html
  4. http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/3959592413.html Read enjoy
  5. That actually might be the name of it. Next time I see her I'll ask how her experience was.
  6. waiting for "first wrecked" video.
  7. She made an appointment with "autowerks" (sp?) or something along the same name for the near future.
  8. I don't know the codes yet. I told her to take it to autozone to get it ran. I've read about the sludge issue and I'm going to guess her motor is probably full of it. She went out and bought the car without asking anyone for advice and probably got a big piece of shit. The front end noise is not motor... it sounds to me possibly wheel bearing. Makes a god awful sound turning left and right. BUT in car I can not determine if its the right or left front.
  9. My roommate just bought a 2000 Passat wagon with the 1.8l turbo motor. It has all sorts of issues. Front end makes noise, check engine lights, damn interior buzzer rings constantly for a solid minute when you start it. She had to pick the car up after her Honda was totaled etc and does not have a lot of funds. Main questions is .. does anyone here or know anyone that is a shady tree VW mechanic? I know zero about VWs Thanks in advance
  10. I looked up tire discounters in that area and it says there are 2. Which one is the one to go to? I need my Miata lined up today. thanks
  11. For you Mustang fans.. R.I.P Ghost http://tampa.craigslist.org/hil/cto/3905034230.html
  12. I don't get into the politics of CR. Pound for pound, go manual have fun. P.s. 14in "good" tires are getting hard to find. Check out ovr-scca.org.
  13. I didn't read everything in the post.. I'm a long fan of anything that comes out for the "tuner" market. I always said I would get a SRT 4 neon...........................................................probably never happen. As soon as I see black stock wheels.. I click away.
  14. Audi, VW and Subaru's get top bang in ohio
  15. I talked about this in another topic.. but Subaru's are cheaper outside of Ohio.
  16. I had to call off work yesterday... because the hotel I'm staying at I guess can not pay for plowing! maybe this needs to be move to the kitchen. not driving the Miata.. rant off
  17. So I'm stuck in Connecticut for work. 12 weeks and counting.. what do people do to kill time. 5 feet of snow, can't go anywhere, god damn Iwindows 8.. which i'm new to. Ignore the grammar, I'm about one more post from throwing this computer out into the drift.
  18. So what is the standard oil change now? and why? I always thought it was the whole 3k mile 3 month deal.
  19. Trying to find a mazdaspeed in Ohio is normally hard to come by for the most part. Along with 5 speed CRVs. Here, there is a place that has at least 5 speed3s and 5 speed6s along with 2-3 CRVs with a 5 speed awd. Honda crew would probably have a hard on for how many 90's civics etc without the rear cancer rust.
  20. Something to consider and much appreciated. In CT cars are a lot cheaper than Ohio and a lot are more vehicles are manual. Also, surprisingly there is not as much rust as Ohio. *ponders why*
  21. I currently own a 94 Miata, I must of got the short end of the stick with mine. I bought one with 90K for a great price. Bought it on a Friday, autocrossed it on that Sunday, fun but was not up to par with the other Miata guys. So obviously something didn't seem right, the car felt ass slow and was down on power. Long story short, motor was junk, had water marks in the cyl head. I wound up doing a complete engine rebuild on it. The car was rock solid Florida car except it had front and rear bumper paint fade. Honestly, I would probably hold out for a car with a good body and worry less about the motor. Body work is a lot more than motor work. I found out the hard way. <excuse the grammar it's sat. and it has been a long day> p.s. I would never think about owning an automatic. You might as well just buy a Fiesta.
  22. I tossed around the idea of a speed6. Any opinions? thanks
  23. I hear good and bad things about the speed3, for instance some are known to bend rods? School me on the speed3 Thanks
  24. Thank you for the response Honestly, I'm looking for a car that I car travel with cross country, get decent gas mileage and run some autocross events/track events along the way. Reliability is a must and I don't want anything that will be a PITA along the way. Modifications would be minimal if any. I was originally looking at the mazdaspeed 3/6 STi/EVO, but I'm open to anything with four doors. My job entails going anywhere I want to really, so the vehicle needs to be able to haul at the same time. Thanks again for responses. School me what FSI and HPFP means. thanks
