  1. I have had a few guys I know buying parts online thinking they are getting a good deal on new parts from distributors who either are not sending parts or have marked up the parts beyond the point of actually being a fair deal. I would have thought these guys would have been smarter than they were. Keep in mind when buying parts from someone who claims to be a dealer or distributor that almost anyone can become a dealer or distributor. Especially in todays market, companies are willing to give almost anyone who asks an opportunity to distribute their parts. Dont be fooled, they have no buying power. These people then mark up a product most times alot more than the big name guys do so look around for the best deal. One guy lost $2200 on parts that never arrived. Now these places are no longer in business. Just a friendly reminder. I dont want to see anyone on here lose money.

  3. Theres tons on craigslist that meet your requirements. If I personally wanted to spend the max your looking to spend, I would go with a mid 2000's tahoe.

  6. Let me know if your still looking I may be able to get it cheaper. My dad works for crane plastics they make the best in the industry IMO.
  7. You can still purchase oil based primers in gallons. You can also still buy oil based paints in gallons but they must be used in industrial situations for areas such as bare metals. Alot of the oil based products out there have switched to a more solid composition vs. a previous solvent composition. They are currently in the process of coming out with a water soluable alkyd base product in the promar200 lineup which will be able to be used where oil based paints currently cannot now but once were. Alkyd resins have been added years back as the bonding agent in oil based paints.
  8. I have painted thousands of residences and buildings including hundreds of multi unit properties and even water towers. Not to mention the hundreds oh homes I have flipped for landlords and property managers. I have painted in in 6 states and at one time had as many as 16 full time employees. Trust me when I say I know what I am talking about. True not all colors and paints will cover every color and paint. However it is not unheard for a paint in a light color to cover a paint in a dark color. Where a product like kilz is great at what it does, it is not necessarily needed to cover up an old color although certainly makes it easier to do so. Oil based paints are not the thing of the past nor ever will be. Are you sure your not thinking of lead based? Oil based paints and primers have a specific purpose one of which is, oil base is needed to prime certain things latex cannot, and another is oil is needed in winter times to be used outside where latex cannot. They still sell many oil based paints. However it is true that oil based paints are not used nearly as much as previously used.
  9. Should have saved the money and went with a cheaper primer tinted to whatever the final color would be. Most of todays paints have primers built in even if the manufacturer doesnt state it. It would have covered. I just paint a solid deep maroon room with one coat of white paint. It covered perfectly.
  10. I didnt want to drive:( Its raining now anyways.
  11. I would say vertical shaft seeing as though it hooks to a pulley straight below it which in turn runs the blade pulleys. I will get some pics. Didnt you see it in the garage?

  14. Did you ever find out whos land that is behind your shop?
  15. Got this a few months back on trade. I was told one of the pulleys on the deck was frozen and kept throwing the belt but they all seem to spin freely to me. The belt is very old and needs replaced. The engine shroud is cracked and doesnt line up exactly. It definately needs a battery. I have jumped started it off the started when I first got it and it ran until it ran out of gas and then it wouldnt restart after I filled it up. I have a suspicion the carb needs rebuilt or cleaned. Its in decent shape other than those things. Its a 43" turbo deck. 14.5 hp engine. As-is $100 http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d87/wnaplay/DSCF2167.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d87/wnaplay/DSCF2166.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d87/wnaplay/DSCF2168.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d87/wnaplay/DSCF2169.jpg
