Thanks for the kind words. I've worked there for 4 years as of this month. Started there when I was 18 and I'm 22 now. I love working there (most of the time). Next time you're in, swing up to the sales dept. Who is your salesman? I'm up in the desk in the front corner of the showroom, overlooking the lot.
  3. I'm in sales at Dan Tobin. Been there for over 4 years. Call or e-mail me if you need anything. If I don't answer its because I'm w/ a customer or on the phone. E-mail is usually a better way to reach me.

Its one thing if a car has been out for a while. It's another thing if its the first month a car has been out and half of the car magazines have done write-ups on it saying how fast and great it is.
  5. Just going off what I've been told from a person at GM who would know. I'm sure it won't take that long to figure out if a body shop can cover a $60,000 a month lease. Ricart Chevy is a separate entity so filing BK won't affect any of the other franchises. They had discussed doing that since last year but decided to put the franchise on the market. I'm sure there is plenty of room at the MM for them to move the body shop to if they keep it at all. You're going to see more GM dealerships change hands before the summer is over.
  6. Ricart didn't own the building. They leased it from Bill Swad at the small fee of $60,000 a month. They're going to keep it open until they find a place for a new body shop since they closed the one at the Mega Mall. Once they have a new place for that they're filing BK to get out of the lease. From what I understand, Dave Gill Pontiac GMC becomes Dave Gill Chevrolet and Len Immke Buick becomes Len Immke Pontiac Buick GMC. Gill and Immke have been duking it out trying to figure out who was going to get the franchise rights to all three lines under GM's realignment program that was brought out years ago. This was the best way to keep all parties happy. Especially since Ricart Chevy hasn't produced a profit in several years now due to their high overhead and bad location.

You looked at the first GT we had on our lot. If you want the first one, you're going to pay for it. It's also to keep the people that have absolutely no means or intention of buying a $35,000 car from test driving it. Most dealers removed that mark up after two weeks. The G8 accounts for almost 50% of our new car sales in the last two months.

Not to mention GM has more standard equipment on their cars than most of the import companies. Who in the hell wants to pay extra for ABS or side air bags on mid-sized sedans. Most of the imports don't offer that. Not to mention GM has the 2nd best warranty out there (behind hyundai/kia).

I'm so tempted to get a GT right now. My wife just finished nursing school today and with my GM discount I can get a fully loaded one for just over $450 a month. Unfortunately insurance is another $150 a month for a 22 year old male. Plus after driving the GXP, I want one with an M6. Looks likes I'm probably just going to drive a Grand Prix GXP for 2 years and then find a used G8 GXP

Just got our first G8 GXP at work (Dan Tobin) tonight. It is absolutely amazing. Slam you back in your seat acceleration with silky smooth shifts from the M6. The Brembo calipers are almost as big as your head. I can't stress how smooth it is for a 400+ HP car. Almost makes me want to wait to buy one and save the extra $6,000 over the GT.
  11. My wife has had her 06 G6 for over 3 years now and we've never had it in the shop for anything other than standard maint. My lease on it is up at the end of April. She could buy mine for something like $9,500. It's loaded with all options except for chrome wheels and leather. Mileage is somewhere around 42,000. Only reason we're not buying it out is because the wife wanted something AWD.
  12. The Grand Prix GXP was and probably still is my first choice. This just happened to be a clean trade in that I could buy for about $5 k less than a Grand Prix. Wife graduates from nursing school in two weeks. No more tuition payments = new daily driver for me. Being that I've sold Pontiac, Buick & GMC products the last 4 years, I would like to stick with one of those to keep up appearances.
  13. Does anyone know much about the Northstar motors? I'm thinking about buying one that I just took in on trade at work. It's going to be a daily driver that gets about 25,000 a year put on it. I'd be buying it $1,000 behind trade value. I just know nothing about these motors. Is there any kind of aftermarket for them?
  14. Just checked gmdealerworld's vehicle locate and can't find one that's even been produced and headed to a dealer within 300 miles of here. Weird
  15. how in the hell do i change my display name? I know we used to be able to change them back in the day.
  16. Added pics. They suck but they're what I have available.

  18. Saw that same car on at the corner of Sawmill and Billingsley. Had some mid-late 30's chick driving it. Car definetly catches your eye.
  19. If you're drunk enough, the pry bar won't hurt as much when it smacks you in the jaw.
  20. Forget about more power and cleaner burning. You're basically putting corn in your gas tank which means you're lining some farmer's pockets here in the USA and not helping Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (ruler of abu dhabi) build houses like this http://www.ebaumsworld.com/gasprices.html Anyone who says ethanol is a bad idea needs to be bludgeoned.
