  1. I have a cobra diff already. . . after 2 years it prefers a one wheel peel out of the burnout box if the tires aren't dripping wet. and even when wet hitting the gas on a right hand turn just spins the rigth wheel.

but i see you guys point, if i'm going with a clutch typ it might as well be a trac-lok. But i'm also feeling around for other options ford racing has a torsen diff and the true trac is supposed to be pretty stout too.

cheapest route isn't the biggest factor od this build, i was almost ready to buy a whole bolt in 9" from moser.

  2. Rebuilding the 8.8 this spring and am not cheaping out on anything. I now have to choose a Differential.

90% street 10% DRs on the strip, Quiet operation is a must i have 2 young boys that adore this car.

only 300 at the tire now but have plans for a coyote so i need room to grow up to 500+

Right now i am leaning toward the detroit tru trac. but also have an eye on yukon or eaton, and looking for info on Ford racing torsen diff. Not a fan of auburn as they are not rebuildable. I would like to stay under $500

  3. yeah I am pretty hard in this thing, 4k launches are the norm multiple times a year and I want it to stop freaking whining!!!!! thinking of doing the coyote swap eventually so I will need a solid foundation.

I have heard good things about babbit, will consider dozer & grady too. plain city is starting to make my drive over an hour each way . . . being the 2nd time building this my main concern is how well they stand behind there work, what would happen if it started howling after 2 months?

  4. i'm calling b.s.. no way a '98 mustang can go 126mph---you would need a several mile stretch of perfectly straight road. and a tailwind. i just don't see it. 215hp (at most), and no top end. the 'failed abortion' of the mustang world. least torque, least hp of any mustang from '79 on.

Earlier 5.0 mustangs were slower, an 81 cobra came with a lowly 4.2 v8. And a stock 98 would run with any year gt before 99.

  5. price dropped, the brake line going to the rear broke, here is the link to criaigslist add has a couple pics. like the ad says the rockers are bad but the truck runs great.

or txt me, the site isn't allowing me to upload, probably my compys fault.

just got off phone and someone with the tools could make a brake line for under $50. price stays $1500, need it gone. the thing drives great.
