  1. wish i would have seen this earlier . . . if the track day is a rainout i'll do it. but driving 1.5 hours each way to run twice in a weekend is too much.

btw cant put the GM stuff in the domestic class, it's all made in canada or austrailia. :p

  2. From the article:

Quantifying speed can be tricky. Automakers have been steering clear of advertising a car’s top speed for legal reasons, explains Bruce Harrison, a research director at IHS Automotive. So what about zero-to-60 times? That measures acceleration, and the significance of that number is waning, some experts say.

    Better headline:

Top 10 Power to Weight Ratio Vehicles for under $50K

(It's a good place to start)

Forbes doesn't know waht a road test is apparently....

actually it should be 3 of the top 10, the base GT makes 412, a 9.2 and good enough for #6

and 0-60 is not a good measure of acceleration, gearing plays a to large of a role in 0-60. the only times that should be considered credible are from a standing 1/4 mile.

  3. I say it's open to whoever actually drives their vehicle there. Not for trailer queens.

Amen. no need for a cruise, drive it there (no truck & trailer rolling in front/behind you) and you are included.

problem is, if i am able to come i'll not be able to compete, i'll have to leave no later than 2pm for werk :(

  4. :dumb:

Yup, I'll have to do some reading and find out how the guys oversea's launch these things. For starters, lowering air pressure and not just dropping the clutch would help certainly, but I don't really care that much. :fa:

i see, in your future . . . clutch smoke.

  5. Yes i'm keeping it, but i really don't see it as a work in progress even though i am always doing something with it. Or repairing it. I have a final goal in mind, the biggest factor being that a much smaller percentage of my time is spent persuing that. But the good part is that the car is already becoming an instrament in which I and the kids use to spend more time together, that's what it's mostly about.
  6. I have that same card. It was great, until they changed their rewards. No longer do you get 1% back on everything and 5% back on groceries. The 5% back on gas is the only decent part of that card now. So, I just got an Amex Blue Cash Preferred card that gets me 6% back on groceries, plus 1% back on everything else. Oh, and I got $150 back as soon as I spent $1000 in the first 3 months. I spent that my first day with it, as I bought my Hawaii plane tickets on it. :)

Oh, and another bonus it that card: I can use it at Costco now, so in addition to the 2% back I get with my Costco membership, I'm getting another 1% back with that card. Score...

they have an optional points system now, from what i gather 25000 pts = a $250 gift card and thier points are 5 for each dollar of fuel 3 for groceries, and 1 for everything else. it works like ti did before, only you get your rebate down the road rather than every month.

  7. They will run and not deal with them like pussies

I pray to God for zombies. I honestly believe i was ment to live in that enviroment.

i have a buck knife but i'd duel wield small slege hammers, cuz i'm the ogre, like that. with a .45 for extreme emergencies.

think of me as the love child of darrel and shrek.

  8. Yup. PenFed. Have to be military to get in though. Or some sort of government employee...

I'm a member, they have a credit card with awesome benefits. My wife and I put everything but our house payment on it and pay it off every month, we get $25-50 deducted from the bill and save on postage as well.

If you have a parent that has served, you can join.

My main bank is honda federal creit union, they are ok, but you have to be a honda employee or family member.

  9. i'm getting pretty tired of a few things:

    1. there is a gun/ammo shortage? IN GEORGIA?!!!

    2. one thing humans have over anuimals is imagination, the ability to use our surroundings to quiclky adapt, why dont we have a badass school bus with a plow on it?

    3. they talk about rationing, really like every house around doesn't have canned food?

    4. lack of darel and the black guy. darrel is probibly the most realistic character on the show, they should be kissing his ass asking him how they need to do things to survive.

    5. carry machetes, not little pin knives!

i'll keep watching, but they need to take control of thier situation alot more.

  10. The V-8-powered Hemi Charger reached 60 mph in 5.83 seconds, according to the Michigan State Police. That was followed by the Caprice, at 5.91 seconds, and the Taurus, at 5.92 seconds.

Not with those shitty numbers it doesn't. :dumb:

:dumb: c'mon, your smart enough to know 0-60 doen't mean crap, just a small difference in gearing to add an extra shift can change a 0-60. The only true measure of a car's strieght line prowess is a standing quarter mile.

Although, if they would have just stuffed a new 5.0 into the crown vic and called it a day we would have nothing to argue about.
