price dropped, the brake line going to the rear broke, here is the link to criaigslist add has a couple pics. like the ad says the rockers are bad but the truck runs great. http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/3900843861.html or txt me, the site isn't allowing me to upload, probably my compys fault. just got off phone and someone with the tools could make a brake line for under $50. price stays $1500, need it gone. the thing drives great.

still looking, I have a spec stage 2 with about 8-10 k miles on it, it grabs and holds like hell but it chatters, so i'm changing it now that I have the trans out of the car. there is still tons of material on the disk. hit me up if your interested.

2000 Expedition 4.6L v-8, only 115k miles. Picked up a newer SUV so this one has to go. Owned over 7 years, It is super dependable. mechanically it has been maintained well, never smoked in. The good: -mechanically, the engine is strong, trans is firm and 4-wheel drive work perfectly. -new brakes, new alt., very good tires, newer battery, trans serviced recently. -it has a power moonroof and the cloth interior is in good condition, no rips or tears. couple stains on carpet but in great shape for a 13 year old truck. -3rd row seating, or ALOT of room in the back with only 2 rows in. -The A/C is ice cold -Westin Brush guard The Bad: -the exhaust needs work, the muffler has a hole in it, it's not loud though. -the body is rust along the bottom of the doors, the rocker panels are in bad shape, the front bumper has a few spots, and there is a spot on the tailgate. At this price you will not find an expedition more mechanically sound. REDUCED $1500, would consider partial trade. you can e-mail me or call/txt 614-two88-four223. if calling please do so between 10 am and 4 pm.

I have a set of black with polished lip FR500 rims for a 94-04 mustang, staggard deep dish rears. No curb rash. I'm looking for a weld type setup. 15's preferred.

the toy is legal, it should be welcome in school if they allow toys at school.

update, engine light = bad gas cap, I hate emmisions crap. the thing I got from trailblazers, like was said before was electronics, the 4.2 is a good motor but I guess later in their life they tend to Not want to go into or not ever disengage 4wd. at least this is what I heard was a common issue.

purchased a 2002 Grand Cherokee limited, 99k miles, ZERO rust. 5900, engine light came on after 300 miles of ownership, lol. we shall see what is wrong.

From what I've researched I will not touch a 2.5L NA Subaru vehicle. as much as I like the idea of a 30mpg awd wagon. This generation Jeep GC ran from 99-04, and you are correct I've seen ALOT of issues that have been voiced by people with transmissions . . . behind the I-6. A few have had flawless lives to date but everything i'm reading says the one behind the v-8 is steller, It is the same trans that is behind a lot of 5.7 hemis. the older Cherokees are work horses but we really want something a little newer and most of those work horses have ALOT of miles. so we're going to drive it and see, i'm not afraid to walk away, and thank you for the tips on what to look for Craig. on edit, the equinox is OFF the table, as is the Volvo.

I think I found a good one, just posted today, 99K miles 2002 limited, 4.7L super clean for $5900 http://dayton.craigslist.org/cto/3691267297.html
-
Good to know found a clean one in gahanna 92 k mi. A i6 2001 . . . but they want 6500. They said the trans had been rebuilt. Saw a clean mountaineer with 125k but their starting price is 6800 forgot what year it is 01-04

thanks, looks like i'm looking for a Grand Cherokee, Expedition or v-8 Explorer.
-
seems the 4runners hold thier value to well for me as far as the cherokee, i heard that the I-6 is a beast but the tranny is weak, and the 4.7L can develop head gasket issues, but has a much stouter driveline, is this correct? on edit: Also the 4.2L trailblazers?
-
are v-8 explorer/mountaineer/aviator's as prone to transmission trouble as the v-6's?
-
Nice truck, too rich for my blood, $7k max and i really am expecting to stay closer to $5.5Kish. I really need some info from my brethren here about the vehicles in question so lets please stay on subject. Any further solicitations should go to PM, where i will happily consider them

The trucks tans looks to be in trouble, it's a 14 year old heap of rust, exhaust leaking pile with some other odd problems. I don't want to spen more than $7000 on a good family vehicle. Needs to be a wagon or SUV because of space in the back for a dog. Also 4wd/AWD is perfered. School me on these frontrunners as i have spent hours tonight looking, new suggestions are welcome. 1. Chevy equinox - as much as i hate GM, but it is the frontrunner, I've seen 05-06 with 90-170k miles on them for $4500-7000. They do come in AWD. Any weaknesses? 2. Jeep grand Cherrokee limited - i'm guessing the I-6 is better than the 4.7? they look great, can find 01-04ish with 100k-200k miles for $3k-6k. Weaknesses? this is more of a 1b. because it is a real 4x4, but i'm so scared of crysler products. 3. Volvo V70- seen a few around, they look nice, available in AWD, and are safe. Most of them are 99-04 most have at least 120k for $4-$7k. offered in 1.8T or 5 cyl N/A i believe, i know nothing about these. 4.another expedition. had my wife informed me the tranny had slipped a couple times before now, i could have fixed the leak and avoided this situation. 99-04 100K+ $2.5k-$6

My Wife, and a buck knife is sitting 5 inches from my left hand.
-
BTW the forrester only comes in a 2.5 correct? and sis they actually fix the headgaSKET ISSUE in later years?
-
this. traction control has on a few occasions only gotten me up part of a snowy driveway, then after backing down, turning of the supposed "drive aid" i would make it up and maybe displacing a little more gravel

whp/Liter favors small motors too much. -
thanks guys i think i'm good, the generator i baught can run the sump pump, small space heater, and i can cycle the fridge/freezer, i think i'm set if something ever happends now.

got one from TSC, the online reviews were awesome. tested it and it runs great: a 5500 watt. My wife got it started which is what is important. it should run the sump pump and a couple other things.
